    Wowza Hannah! Love’s It! πŸ™‚

    Hannah,

The crackles come about when one fire breather starts “necking” with another. It might be time for a chaperone! πŸ˜‰

I am posting for her and that is the price she wants. Supply/demand maybe somebody has to have it now. I guess that’s the price she’s willing to get rid of it for. She is an elderly woman who is downsizing a pretty extensive collection for assisted living. I have sold one of her pieces to a forum member who plans on buying more as we get her sorted, packed, and moved. Anything that I don’t want to buy I am first offering to that member and then to anyone else who may be interested.

    Have a great afternoon!

Wish I had some GB Uni’s to trade. Sounds like a good deal to me too. Both are beautiful pieces!

Thanks, that’s what I’ve always done (packing in tightly) and have had good luck so far (crosses fingers). I appreciate all the insight.

John actually answered a question about this recently, I can’t remember the title of the thread.

It’s not that they’re “supposed” to be shipped horn side down, it’s just the way they are packed because dragons stay more firmly in place for packing when put face first into the fitted cardboard insert. If they were placed into the back part first, since it’s more rounded, the dragon might shift and it would be more difficult to fit the other insert correctly before closing the box.

    Or something along those lines…

Thanks for that L.I.H.! Makes sense. I just want to make sure when/if I ever ship a big guy that I am doing it as much like Windstone as possible. Have read some other threads and suggestions and have had nothing but rave reviews on my shipping of smaller pieces and I just wanted to do thorough research on larger ones.

in reply to: New Copper Patina #869288

I only own the CP Fledgling, but I grew up in the 80’s and thus am still bonkers about anything that remotely resembles Teal (I drove a Teal Camaro – LOL). Am also a purple nut, so I also like the violet. If you think of them as weathered statues, it stands to reason that they would all look different. I can’t help thinking of pictures of the Little Mermaid Sculpture in Denmark and its beautiful patina. It would not be near so beautiful without it! So I say, bring on the teal – be it light or heavy handed and I LOVE it with the teal eyes. I just think its so unlike anything else that made it into production—that is what I really like about it.

So true. Double boxing has always been a staple for me, but was unsure about the horns up/horns down thing on the big guys. THANKS!

My BVP O.W. arrived yesterday and was upside down. πŸ˜‰

O.K. that solves it. The lady was right. I’m going with how Windstone ships. Good points about shippers not paying attention to right side up though.

If I had my druthers all Windstones would be float to us on a cloud and be placed directly in our hands. LOL! Perhaps I have trust issues? πŸ˜‰

    No, the retired one.

Fortunately, one showed up on eBay this morning, so I may have one shortly.

    Best of Luck Wren!

Beautiful Work. I think the eye colors you chose really compliment your paint schemes well. πŸ™‚

Splendidly Magical Video! Almost wish I had a nursery and a little prince or princess for your creation to watch over and protect. Can you imagine what imagination having something like that in your bedroom as a child would inspire? Then again, it would have to be up high, high, high because thinking of it getting chipped or broken gives me hives! πŸ˜‰
