Just took this pic…look at teh color differances! Both are soo pretty though

Wow! I didn’t realize it was THAT different. I knew the lap dragons were a bit out there, but dang! I need to find a peacock male in the old color variation (like the young dragon) soon, before they all disappear.

Yes, its a limited production. It’s in the E-bay sales gallery. But heavens! that is a terrible picture. It doesn’t make it look pretty at all! There is still some left just e-mail Karen.

I have 2 candle lamps (Griffin and Wizard’s retreat), but I don’t want to buy anymore because they take up too much room (like a dragon doesn’t!). 😀
I go for the unicorns, and flap cats. I think though I buy several dragons for the colors and all – but I’m really not a dragon lover like some members. I think too, the candle lamps, cats, etc. go with most people’s decore and don’t scream fantasy like the dragons do. That way you can have a nice piece but it doesn’t overpower the room or make your house guests wonder about you.

And my worst one just happened – got a mint peacock oriental dragon on ebay. Wrote to the seller about how to ship it and it came wrapped in bubble wrap rattling around a box so, of course, she is in many pieces. I am so, so upset. It was a beautiful dragon before the (bleep) person sent it. Now I have to go back to the Post Office but I don’t know if they will honor the insurance. I did pay with a credit card so….
              What a moron! 👿

I almost want to stop buying from Ebayers because of how many I have lost in transit. Im so sorry. I lost a peacock oriental the exact same way. http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m262/skigod377/Picture035.jpg
I have lost 3 white mothers this year alone. I wish you luck at the post office, but if the packing was insufficient, I dont know if they will pay.

People don’t seem to understand that although Windstones are heavy, they are fragile. Has anyone noticed how vibration carries through the sculpts? If you just lightly tap with your finger nail on a sculpture you can actually hear the sculpt ring. As fragile as glass. We should make a shipping tutorial with pics. That way when someone needs to send us a Windstone we can just give them the link.

I just bought a small bird siamese flat cat. I was wondering if all flap cats had felt on them. The one I received looks like it might of and it has a “F” on the bottom. Do you know what they would look like if the felt had come off?

Mine has one, but it was one of the last ones they made I think. I don’t know if they ever came out without one.

Mine is an older one and does not look nearly so flashy. I have the male.

My male looks like an old fart compared to the rest of his flashy family. lol

I had a family of the earlier peacock….it was darker and a little different from the newer ones….they are brighter more “clean” looking….so my OW in peacock looked totally different….but now I have the OW in white…..and sold the whole family….cause I just want all the white ones….

Isn’t it hard to pick just one color?! LOL! 😆

I started collecting about 10 years ago because of the level of detail and finish that the scuplture had. I was (still am) a stickler on quality and detail and Windstones are the only “affordable” artwork I’ve found that meets my expectations. I fell in love with the Unicorns and its been an on-going love affair ever since! Now that I’m part of this forum I’ve purchased more Windstones in the past few months than I have in years – due to the enthusiasm of other collectors. (And is it just me or do these statues look like they have emotions in their eyes? They all have a unique personality.)

I have to laugh because like Skigod I have purchased a couple of Windstones for their value at resell. But the funny thing is the more I was around them the more I fell in love with them. Windstones have a funny magic like that! I enjoy seeing how others enjoy their collections because my family think they’re nice, but they’re just “dust catchers”. Here, Windstones are more than statues, they are family! 😀

I agree with everyone else. You need to do what is best for your and aligned with your future plans and goals. It sounds like the game job is good for your side business, but just doesn’t lend to your talents. It seems a waste to not perform at your full potential – then again, time with family also needs to be given equal consideration. You shouldn’t feel bad or need to justify your decisions to anyone. Don’t feel bad about what this change may or maynot do to your business partner, utlimately you have to make a choice that is right for you, for you are ultimately responsible for yourself.

LOL I really wanted that one, and as a side note, I also bought the other coiled from the same person *, and the new coiled as well, so got all 3 in the same week :D. I kinda gave up in the kinglet because of the cost of the mother w/golden egg, but I will wait and bide my time for the next one 😈 .

                            * I gave her very strict instructions on packing, each in their own box and then wrapped in bubble wrap and in another box. She aggred to it, plus offered insurance.

I was suprised by how fast the Kinglet went up in price. I’m personally not keen on the egg ones, but I know they are popular. Just as well, can’t keep this up.

I know what you mean about the packing instructions. I just gave the seller an e-mail on it. I hope he doesn’t take offense. Soon see. 8)

I was watching a peacock sitting spectral dragon, and was hoping to get it for $100 with shipping, and it sold for $150. That’s silly, there’s still plenty of websites where you can buy it MIB for $130. Ah well.

No kidding, I saw a white grand unicorn go for $200+ about a month or a month and half ago. I was thinking the same thing, that you could still get them in the stores/on-line for $126.

Well, you can feel better now. 😕 I knew once I saw what yours went for I would be in for a tough time. I am the lucky/unlucky lunatic that paid the insane amount for that item. The good side is that it now completes my white dragon collection. I keep thinking back when I had thought about buying that piece (back when they were in stores). *Kicks self, kicks self again….* I should add this to the worst and best buy thread…… 8)

Yes, that looks very similiar to one I saw in a store over the weekend. It’s peacock, but the coloring is quite different from the male dragon. I would call it more of a rainbow peacock color.
