November 26, 2010 at 3:56 pm in reply to: WTT Phoenix pyo metallic teal eyes for other color #832057My color scheme changed mid-work, and now the original eyes I had picked out for this piece no longer fit.
I’d like to trade my metallic teal eyes for a pair of Phoenix pyo metallic periwinkle ones. (Or grey if they used to come in that color and are just not in stock at the moment!) Will ship first if you’ve got a good rep around here.
Brand new, still in packaging along with the felt pad.
Born and raised an army brat, so i got to experience several states and Germany a couple times. Dad retired and when I could I joined the army myself to go see a couple more states. Then ended up working as an OTR (Over The Road) trucker for almost a decade. Been to/through all 48 continental states, Canada, and Mexico. Spent my honeymoon in Hawaii. So that leaves one state, Alaska, and I’m working on that one. 😀
I live in WV, and somehow it’s the place I always come back to. All my family is here, so even through my dad’s career we always came back here for holidays and to see family. When he retired we moved back permanently and I finished school here, then got the wanderlust bug and did my thing.
I’m at a point in my life where I could take it or leave it. I’d really, really love to move out west, Wyoming or Montana. But I have to convince hubby that the winters aren’t THAT bad out there and that the other seasons make up for it. Unfortunately he doesn’t have a job that means we can pick up and move just anywhere and he can find work. He’s a Nuclear Pharmacist which is a bit specialized, and has been with his current company for better than 10 years now. They do have labs in other states (one in Wyoming even.. hint hint honey!), but he likes it here. His family is in MA., and I think a lot of it too has to do with him not wanting to be any further away from them than he already is.
So yeah. I’m bored to death of this place. And apparently we’re not moving any time in the foreseeable future. I’ll have to make do with yearly vacations. 🙁

twindragonsmum 😀
When I first moved to the Pittsburgh area, I was appalled when I ordered a salad-they brought out a salad covered in french fries! Here they serve sandwiches with a glob of cole slaw in the middle :puke: I like fries and cole slaw, but as a side dish, not a topping! French fries topped with gravy is also VERY popular here. You’re making me hungry! XD Have you ever been to Primanti Brothers? Hubby and I go there whenever we’re up that way. You mentioned fries and coleslaw and that’s immediately who I thought of. Mmm!
Tell ya what I miss from Germany that I haven’t seen here in the states. (I order them online though) Peanut doodles. It’s like a cheese doodle, but peanut buttery. Oh man, those are so good.
Never heard of the ketchup chips though, would like to try them.
You know, there’s not nearly enough purple on that dragon.
JK! I love it. =3
Thank you Pam. Bookmarked the page because I’m always wondering what colors look like when trying to choose.
November 10, 2010 at 9:51 pm in reply to: Holiday Ornament Swap- PLEASE MAIL BY DECEMBER 8TH 🙂 #830276Can’t believe I’ve missed this! I love doing ornaments, I’m soooo in on this one.
Thanks guys. They sure are addictive, thank goodness I’ve got more stuff waiting for paint a d my first Phoenix arrived today. Yay!
This is my first PYO, but I used to be heavily into painting ceramic dragons back in the early 90’s. Something I did to fund my costume addiction for the SCA.
Love these things!
Weather was nice yesterday so I dragged her outside for a quick picture. Setting is not all pretty and idyllic, but that’s not what I was looking at. 😛
Presenting, “Black Forest”. I did use flash since she was a bit in shadow so that makes the job a bit more garish than she actually is and washes out some of my blending. And kills the interference too. >.< She's a gift for a Mentor.
I haven’t painted in forever, and I sure missed it. I’m already working on my next, whom I’ve named “Yule”, and hopefully my skills at capturing their true look will get better as my painting them does.
If they want to try and sell it for a hundred bucks, and get it, kudos to them I say. And good Lord, with ebay’s fees the way they are the seller will probably just end up with store price anyways.
Now I’m reminded why I’ve all but quit hanging around on forums. That person’s probably a member here and they log in to see folks taking a bite out of them. I’m sure that’s what the folks at Windstone had in mind when they started this place up. :negative:
Haven’t played it, but it looks interesting. I’ve just never been a console girl.
I’ve taken my fair share of dragon blood in WoW though. 😳
Congrats!
Ugh. Those Stampler folks have a reputation for doing these despite public outcry. This isn’t the first, and with the economic climate it won’t be the last. I wish I could help, but it’s just not in the cards right now. 🙁
Got my $26 black male unicorn from ebay today. The chip on his hind hoof is so tiny I don’t think I’ll even bother to try and repair it. Been a while since I got a good ebay deal, this guy makes the wait worth it!
