  • in reply to: Low contrast silver OW #864430

I thought the whole reason they were done in high contrast to begin with was because of the way the auctions had been worded with the original low contrast prototype silvers that were auctioned off? That no more just like those would be made? The store batch of silver OWs had to be made different enough to not cause issues?

Don’t get me wrong, the low contrast silver is my holy grail. I snapped up a high contrast because I was under the impression that was as close as we were going to get.

    Added some stuff.

That’s definitely a snow boa. More reduced saddles with less noise would make him possibly a moonglow but I’d need a better look to confirm. They’re technically an albino anery (sorry, original post I was thinking snow ball pythons, which is albino axanthic), not a selectively bred albino. They’re way less pricey now than they were when I bought into the moonglow project (hypo snow), but it’s still a chunk of cash for your average pet owner to plunk down.

FWIW, albinos and snows do not have blue eyes, but leucistics do. As far as I know, there’s only one leucistic bci in the US, and Jeremy Stone is working with that one. They don’t know yet whether the phenotype is inheritable, but are working on it. Blue eyed leucies can be produced through several different ball python pairings, and the eyes are definitely blue blue blue. Here’s my BEL ball to illustrate:

Not trying to start a fight, just like to see correct info given. Snakes are my passion.

I’d definitely take him to the vet if you plan on keeping him. All that redness worries me. I’d want to make sure he didn’t pick up an RI or some parasites while out playing in the wild.

Good luck with him, he’s a pretty one!

Thanks for the inquiries. Silver Male has been sold. ๐Ÿ™‚

The female is still available, and I have a peacock OW I’ll be adding pictures of as soon as I can manage to get some taken. He’s in decent shape, but I’ll have to look him over to double check. I think last time I looked, he had a couple teeny chips, and his hang tag is gone. I’ll need an OW box sent to me to be able to ship him, as I don’t trust my skills without a fitted box. His price is $150 shipped.

in reply to: Making your own fitted windstone boxes? #856601

Do you think they’d work for Windstone sculptures, Jennifer? I’m about to do a cross-country move and I can’t fit them all in the car so I have to pack several pieces with no original boxes well enough to withstand movers.

    Thanks!

I’ve loved most of them but I’m hoping for something new and LOUD, too! You know, something where you can’t sleep in the same room because it’s so loud?

I like this. I think it’d look really good on an OW with some silver accents.

I’m hoping that whatever scrap my big silver lad got into, he came out the winner.

Susie’s already contacted me about it, and can say I’m floored at the level of customer service these wonderful folks offer.

Had to LOL at the mental image of a bunch of zoned out WS painters. I hadn’t though of it before, but I can imagine that it gets kind of tedious and one dragon butt just blends into another after a while. Suggestion to make it a bit more fun – hand out twinkies or similar sugary snack food, and chase it with plenty of mountain dew. Make sure you put your seatbelt on. ๐Ÿ˜€

    You guys rock.

Ohhh, been a while since we’ve seen the jade emp around here. I adore the jades, I wish there were more of them.

in reply to: Show your Collection, v.6! #851639

Ouch. I’m glad I checked in on this thread to see what new stuff peeps have gotten. I never check new stuff when it comes in. The issues posted here made me run to check my silver OW since he’s the last one I’ve picked up and my crown jewel.

Wouldn’t you know it. ๐Ÿ™ And I really don’t want to have to send him back to wait on another, it could be a while before they’re restocked. The chips have been painted over, so surely someone saw them? *cry*

in reply to: Feeling down, just want some feedback #851019

Not much to add advice-wise, just wanted to give you a big e-hug.

I’ve never wanted kids either. Have a son who will be 16 this October, and he was adopted by a wonderful family as a baby. And believe me, I’ve gotten nothing but grief from my family over the decision. I did the best I could – I could barely take care of myself at the time, much less myself and the child. Personally, I thought it was very UN-selfish of me to place him where he could grow up without the crap I grew up with.

Sorry, I just don’t have the mommy instinct. Everyone told me how it would kick in eventually and especially once I held him for the first time, but it just didn’t happen. I guess I could have been like my mom, sacrificed everything for my kids all my life then one day when they hit their 30’s just look them straight in the face and tell them they ruined my life and they are regretted. *shrug*

A few years ago I started my battle with cancer. Now the children issue is decided for me, had a hysterectomy last January at the age of 36. No kids ever, and it’s a liberating feeling. It’s been fun spending our money on nice vacations to exotic places, rather than diapers and college funds. Call me selfish, I like life this way!

in reply to: "Want to Buy" Special Ebay Pieces Thread #850818

    Wanted:

    Blanket appy grand unicorn
    Silver Prototype OW
Silver SK (I believe the one I want was called Dark Silver, not the Jades)

Could probably pay cash outright for the unicorn. Would like to make some short-term payments on the OW depending on his price. Same for the SK.

in reply to: Sister drama. I need help! #850146

Ugh, I feel your pain. My brother is the same way. So when he called up a couple years ago wanting to “visit” I told him that sure we had room for him. In the birds’ room of course, where he’d be awoken every morning by a screaming amazon. (He’s a druggie, and loves to be up all night then sleep in) ๐Ÿ˜€ How quickly he went from wanting to visit, to not being sure his car would make it. Once he learned that the well has dried up as far as ol’ sis goes, he quit calling here. A bit painful, but I’m thinking it’s for the best. fwiw, he threatened to hurt my handicapped hubby after the above incident. Takes a big man to threaten someone with cerebral palsy.. >.> I think he forgets sometimes that I used to be a police officer and will protect that which I hold dear.

    But I ramble..

If you think she’s going to give you grief when it comes time to give her notice, involve the local police. I know you’re not looking for more drama, but at least if they’re present when you’re trying to give her notice and she flakes or whatever she ultimately decides to do, you have undeniable proof that you did in fact try to serve her but she was being difficult. She won’t be able to come back on you at all.

    Good luck!
