In reply to: What’s next on the schedule, Part 7 (for 2024)
A new – not yet named – test paint color. Gina posted photos yesterday (March 6) on the “Windstone Editions Fan Club (Official)” Facebook page.
Gina says, “A new test paint color! A color swap of one of my old favorites, Sanguine (red/yellow). And I am enamored with the sparkles in the green 😍 all the green was dusted with gold/silver colorshift then the black detail was added.
It’s been a long time, but these guys are up for NAME THAT DRAGON! Give me your suggestions [only on Facebook] and I’ll make a poll with my top 15 (that haven’t been used before) and everyone can vote [on Facebook]!
I hope you enjoy them!”March 2, 2023 at 7:24 am #1668960In reply to: 2023 eBay Auction Picture Thread

Reminded me a bit of the Sanguine one Gina did a while back.

I like the front feet on the Sun dragon better too, but there’s not much difference. Because one is the “Sun” dragon and one the “Moon” I would tend to lean toward warm colors for the first and cool for the second. For example, I have the sun dragon in Sanguine (red, black, and gold) and the moon in Morpho (blue, black, and silver) and they make a great pair.

My white and my Peacock are currently living at my mom’s house. I have the other 4 here with me.
Olympia Carpathia did paint a lap in “Spring Green” many many years ago.
I’d love to find that Sanguine dragon. I tend towards cooler colors, but the Sanguine color really speaks to me.
Maybe one day I’ll get stuff out for a conga. I need good lighting and less help from dog children and people children, lol.

Hey, Setsunawolf: There was a Sanguine Lap Dragon!
Rereading your post, I thought, “Wait… on second thought, that sounds familiar,” so I went looking.
Looks like it was made in June 2018. I guess now you have another piece for your wishlist! 🙂 Sanguine would look really good next to Red Fire, I bet… Hope you can add it to your conga one day!

Oooh, Setsunawolf, you should post a photo of your Lap conga! You have several colors I don’t; I’d love to see them all together!
The “of course” after Peacock in your comment made me laugh; it does seem to be an “of course” option! Yet my Peacock Lap was actually one of the later additions to my conga. 😛 I found a damaged one for a good price, and did ‘surgery’ to restore her broken face; I’m pretty proud of how she came out!
I hope you can find the Sanguine Orientals someday. I’m still hoping for a Peacock Moon Ori and Peacock Sitting Ori to complete my own Oriental family…
My biggest dream as far as Laps go (aside from the development of a “Sapphire” color to match Ruby/Emerald/Tanzanite) is for a test paint in a nice spring green. A few years ago there were some test paints in a color called ‘Spring Bud’ or ‘Spring Leaf’ that were just perfect, but sadly no Lap was ever produced in it. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that one day it’ll happen! (Melody, if you’re reading this, it would make a GREAT color for a Store release come next spring… *sad Bambi eyes*)

I love the lap in Red Fire. My laps include Brown, Silver, white, Red Fire, Peacock(of course), and my only TP Cinnamon Pearl. If she was painted in Sanguine, I bet I’d love that one too. I’d love to find the Sanguine orientals.

Does anyone have pictures of these guys?
The standing baby kirin and the seated baby kirin are on page 4 of these search results. The search didn’t show any adult kirins painted in “Sanguine”.

The base colors on this remind me of “sanguine” but that touch of blue is a really nice addition. I like the way it gives the red a purplish edge.

I bid on and loved every sanguine that was on eBay. That was my absolute favorite and I wish it would become a color. I would love more red dragons too. I have an old Red mother dragon and male but would die for an old warrior in Saguine.

Wow, Etruscan, I had forgotten that OW; he really looks very close to the Smoldering Ember pieces, doesn’t he? I think I like his color a little better (less white), but I’m not enough of a red dragon fan for my opinion to count for much. 🙂
Thanks for digging that up!
Oh, and for funsies, pics of some past red and black(ish) OWs I’ve saved, including the ones I mentioned before plus a few others:
“Black Russet” OW:
“Sinberry” OW:
“Burgundy” OW:
“Fire Berry” OW:
I think this one was just called “Ember”:
And there have been other red/black schemes as well that may have included Old Warriors; not being a huge red fan, I don’t always save photos of those. Anyone else remember whether OWs were produced for Sanguine, BlackFyre(?), or Wine Cherry? Please post pics if you have ’em! 😀
Terra Cotta is technically a red and black coloration, too, though it’s brick-red instead of bright red…
