Scathach you landed some lovely pups! That cat GB is awesome and the wild dog on the right is one of my favorites out of those I’ve seen so far. Congrats!

You got the thylacine! I read somewhere that the pelts could be identified as those from a thylacine, by those connected, zig zag stripes, so I painted him that way. However I couldn’t find a photo of one with markings like that!
Here’s a photo that might prove helpful; almost all of the pelts incorporated into this blanket have some zig-zags: http://static.tmag.tas.gov.au/decorativeart/objects/misc/P2002.63/index.html Unfortunately most of the photos of live animals are taken in side view, so just the striped part is visible along the back.
And JynXx, thanks for pointing him out in the class photo! I’d be thrilled if a live thylacine were found someday. There’s a small movement on to clone them too, although just like the dodo and mammoth, chances for doing that with today’s technology and the ever-degrading source material are unlikely. Add to that the greater problem that there aren’t many places for a self-sustaining population to live anymore in their native old range. Depressing but true!

OMG, Zelda!! I love that GB Fox. That’s a really spectacular grab.
Thanks JynXx! I take care of fossils for a living, so having one patterned after an extinct creature randomly find its way to me is something special. I was originally looking over the class photo and hoping for something colorful and busy, but I had no idea this little treasure was hiding amongst the flashier ones 🙂

Eeee new babies! JynXx, you mentioned that you’d love to see thylacines in the next batch… I think I have one from this one!
Looking at historic photos and illustrations, some animals come across as more gray, like this one, while others are tan-brown. Some have zig-zag stripes, and some have straight bands across their backs. Am I right Melody, or is this another animal? Here are my AWDs – I couldn’t help but getting two, heh.
While I love them both, the one in the bottom two photos will be up for trade (and perhaps the top one, too), in hopes of getting a pup with well-defined edges to his markings and lots of spots!Thank you Melody, these guys are beautiful and I’m officially hooked on pebble animals 😀

December 10, 2014 at 1:43 am in reply to: 11/5/14 Grab Bag Baby Poad picture thread (Hoppies and Hippies) #922825Two more poads have arrived here! Little cuties, one with red eyes and one with metallic teal.
They’re quite similar, so I’m looking to trade at least the second one, if not both. Send me a message if you’d be interested!

November 23, 2014 at 1:41 am in reply to: 11/5/14 Grab Bag Baby Poad picture thread (Hoppies and Hippies) #922163I’ve been holding on to my unopened poad box for what, two weeks now? Trying to find the time to set up to film opening it for Quest 18. Well, that’s not happening – I was too tempted and too tired of waiting! I’m thrilled with the little one that was waiting on the other side of the box.
She’s in the top right corner of the store photo. Sparkly orange eyes, copper beak and gold claws, and even a little purple interference paint on her belly and feet. Her sides go from white to a light sky blue. I love all of the details – thank you Melody for another wonderful set of grab bags! I have to admit I broke down and ordered another two after all of the excitement 🙂
What a pretty baby! She kinda looks like a dart frog/emperor penguin cross to me.
HAH, I hadn’t seen the penguin part before! Now I keep flipping her over so she has the penguin chest facing in the ‘right’ direction 🙂
After a little digging it looks like she’s styled after something in the Ranitomera genus of dart frogs, looking most like Ranitomera reticulata. If anybody else is looking to hunt down the dart frog their poad is mimicking, I can highly recommend the website http://www.dendrobates.org – they have lots of pictures!

Ooooh my husband and I would both be over the moon if this were true. I hope Disney catches the excitement of the fans and decides to run with it!

Hi all! Just in case anybody is interested, there will be another open registration window for Flight Rising all day on Nov. 17th. A bunch of us Windstone forum folks are playing, so feel free to join and say hi 🙂

Sending you a friend request, if you don’t mind 🙂 The site’s fun to wander around and explore; it’s a ‘game’ but there’s really no defined point. Some people really enjoy the battling, some people like just breeding, some people roleplay, some people do a little of everything. If you ever have any questions about how things work, don’t hesitate to drop me a line.

Hi all! In case anyone missed out last time, Flight Rising is doing another free open registration, all day on October 13th. I joined myself during the last registration window in June and got quickly and completely hooked, haha.
My username there is clanguardian, and I’m in Nature flight. If any current players would like another friend on their list please look me up! Same goes for any new members that have questions or want someone to chat with.

Wow Betrluk1, I love that first fox of yours! Nice color contrast and that little spot on its paw is adorable, hah! 🙂

Here are my two red foxes!
I was tickled to open the albino first, she’s so sleek and simple, and looks like she’s smiling from the right angle 🙂
The second one is a smoky gray/red with white chest, paws, and tail tip. He’s growing on me, but I think I was hoping for one of the darker red/gray foxes with a white face. He may be up for trade soon. KaytanaPhoenix, I don’t think he’s the exact one you’re looking for like your mom’s dog, but he’s almost there!
Melody, again, thank you! These beauties have such wonderful shading and staining. So much cute in such tiny little packages, yay!
