hey there! i just wanted to put up a little post saying that i finally have a new dragon up on ebay. he’s a flashy fella in all metallic bright golds, chinese red, chartreuse green and accented in periwinkle blue.i put alot time into him and honestly got carried away, and kept adding more and more details, but i happy with the end result this way. check him out! his pics on ebay look frumpy n mealy, so i am posting a couple here so y’all can see him a little better. 🙂 thankies!

[/img]woot! well, my pokey self finally finished two more pyos! i have another keeper in the works as well, but i needed to get these two done so as to not get spread tooo thin! i have so many started and half way done! gah!
anyhoo, i finally did a griffin again as a commission….he was to be inspired by one of the griffin mounts from warcraft….hopefully i’m not stepping on any copyright laws with his looks..it was good to do a griff again, not to mention total painting culture shock, painting feathers and fur all of a sudden instead of scales! 😯 its hard! i need more practice with these guys! his feathers are edged in a silvery blue green and spots were a real bugger! it was actually my first time doing AND finishing spots! they are of no particular cat species, just fantasy griff spots.[img]
thennnn, i just finished up this guy, the first piece i have done in a long time with ebay in mind. he is a crazy mix of colors and i couldn’t really think of a good name for him, so i kinda stuck with tropical rainbow, even though he has no purple. oh well. he’s pretty loud, but i think he is fun mix of tone gradation, black antique to bring out the color and i got brave and used periwinkle blue for trim to contrast with the chinese red and golds. not exactly natural by any means, lol. geez, i just kept adding more n more n more to him; he was soooo different when i thought i was “done” initially, but i like how he came out in the end. he originally had no black antique or underlining, and blue only on his wings and dorsal scale points! i really want to try to do a natural toned dragon for a change of pace sometime soon, i just always end up going for more color. anyway, i’ll be curious to see what you guys think of this fella![/img]

the rainbow DOES look awesome too; i didn’t think that i was going to like him, but now i’m wishing i had an extra 300 bucks! he is stunning in it! gah! i’m sure there will only be a few, so they won’t be around for forever in the store either….gah!travistie wrote:Thanks so much for posting those tfsculptures! 😀 They are both beautiful. oh squealies! i’m glad i was able to help! i just took those this evening for this- it seemed to be a good a time as ever to get some good pics of em. 😀 you got me feeling all warm n fuzzy over here! i love my empea and he is soo much nicer in person! he’s really glossy and his color is really rich and deeply metallic n sparkly. the gold is pretty, but what really makes him is the quality/heaviness of the shading he gets with the brown and purple…if its light, like mine then he gets a little monotone. for 260 bucks, i want my color to have some “oooomph”, lol. i love his red eyes on the other hand, so that was what sold me on him. i think the paint jobs are more consistent with the empea and you may be happier in the end for it.

(rolls on the floor with glee) i LOVED the pics you took of yours! its just hard to put the funds towards the production pieces when more and more juicy limited stuff keeps coming out! >.< i can't keep up! i think the fire and empea will be SUPER compliments for each other too! i have my rubies right now next to my empeas to compliment them, but i think once i start getting the red fires i might have to rearrange!here are my gold and empea ows if these pics help your decision making at all. i love my empea alot, but man, griffiness, your gold is super! all that purple on yours! i am so jealous, but glad he has a loving home with you! mine got squat for purple. 🙁 it shows up best in natural light ( he has a little more than what shows) but i used a “light box” with these guys. i can’t wait to get the red fire once i save up enough, that one looks like a knockout!

hallelujah! this is soooo true! i’ll watch customers “train” their dogs into bad behavior right in our store and the dog will start using that new naughty knowledge right away! its crazy! the don’t know they are being bad, but the owner will knowingly or unknowingly reward negative behavior, and then the dogs immediately put it to use.
i love it when a little dog barks ferociously at an oncoming big dog, then the owner picks it up and says ” ooooooooh poopsie, why you barky bark so much? thats not niiiiiiiiiiiiiice.” they give attention to the bad behavior, as opposed to repremanding the dog for barking rudely and if he doesn’t stop, sitting him down.
anyhoo, another vote for the dog whisperer. he is brilliant and his techniques are easy, effective and common sense. his techniques could definitely be helpful. his show is on the national geographic channel, or you can check out his books or tv series on dvd. 🙂oy vey how crazy! especially from such a small dog too! i have chin myself and they are normally mild, sedate dogs with a good sense of humor. that behavior sounds unusual for a chin, but all it takes is a couple of bad experiences to make a sensitive dog a real fusspot over whatever in question. mine is awful when it comes to cleaning her ears and cleaning her face folds, taking three of us to hold her still, (she thinks she is a princess), but we hold our ground and never let her go about her business til we are done.
check out this article i have linked below, it has a unique and i find a quite true viewpoint on separation anxiety in that it ( with the exception of abused/neglected dogs) stems from the dog thinking it is dominant over you. chin are very stubborn so it can lead easily enough to this behavior.

also, honestly, there are different types of dominance, not just a directly defiant challenging dog, but it also includes the sniveling, jumping, fussy whinypants that blubbers like a weenie til the get their way. its more subtle but the end result is the same: the whiny weenie still gets there way if the fuss enough. i have worked in a pet store for the past four years and we see the separation anxiety thing on a daily basis. here’s that article…

i definitely suggest looking into doggie daycare if that could be an option for you. he simply can’t be left outside alone as chin are super susceptible to overheating/cool temps, but people love to steal little dogs. meds aren’t the worst thing and they do help alot of people and their pets. in isn’t really cruel to give him medication as you are helping to relieve his mental anguish of being alone. 🙂 with more positive, calmed experiences of being home alone, after time you may be able to phase out those meds. 🙂
the conditioning training too can definitely help but it takes time to carry out. it takes time for him to have ( repeated) successful exercises and gradually build of his confidence of him being ok alone, you being in charge and that you WILL come home soon.
chin are very social and many breeders in the chin club will not sell you one if you plan to use a crate as to not “break their spirit” as they are true companion dogs. i’d love to see him in a small dog day care or conditioned to where in could be left in a safe space while you are out after some good exercise to help get worn out. good luck to you, that is very challenging doggie problem to deal with and it often takes alot of time and effort to get over!ugh! my boyfriend and i both have the flu that is going around and it is BRUTAL!! i had to stay home from work as i could barely even walk, had the worst body aches of my entire life and a fever of a 102.
purpledoggy, i am so glad you don’t have this as i’d really worry about your babys’ safety!! 🙂 its been years since i’ve felt this bad and to have your household get it would be awful! i hope i get better tonight as i have no choice but to go work tomorrow ( i need the money for all the new windstones coming out!)phew! that is a GORGEOUS poad! wow! 😯 those subtle bubble like splashes of color are just stunning! lucky you! congrats!
i agree.. i’d love to see both at least if was just pics posted to the forum so i could decide which i wanted. i too can only afford one of each at the MOST, so i have to buy carefully and only once.. 😕
well, for what its worth, she just won the red fire lap for over 400 bucks, so hopefully she has some money left to pay you along with that piece! i really hope that works out for you so you don’t have to wait longer for your money.
this will be an interesting test of ebays’ new rules on getting tougher with non paying bidders. judging by the bad feedback left for that person, if they keep up not paying they in theory should get the boot right off ebay. good luck!! 🙂

d’oh! thats wierd about the poads’ eyes! the first batch had the pale blue eyes, same as in the silver male. i wonder if the whole new batch of silver poads got those darker eyes! that will certainly be a way tell the two batches apart in the future- the different eye colors…
the silver male is a really beautiful piece i just got one too and the variety of tone in the silver is awesome. i’m not sure about other folks, but mine is so dark on the body scales just under the wings that it looks almost black! i tried to photograph it but he is such a bugger to get a pic of- he just blows out with shiny-ness.
congrats on your pieces, you got some real good ones there! 😉i heard from my mail man the rate was going up the day after mothers day, which is may 12th.. he also mentioned they have a plan in the works to raise the rate annually on that day from this year on! 😯 people were squeaking and griping like crazy in the post office over it, but with the prices going up on everything, what are you going to do?
