Just wondering, anyone whith horses here ever use the Dr. Cook Bitless Bridle?

I have one; I ride my stallion, the gelding and one of my mares in it. It works pretty well once you’ve gotten it fitted correctly. The instructions are fairly clear that came with it. I like it better than the mechanical hackamore because there are no shanks that my boys can flip upside down. 😛 And mine is the beta, not the leather. THAT aspect, I LOVE. When I want to clean it, it goes into the dishwasher. (Yes, I said dishwasher 😆 ) By itself, not with the dishes…unless I’m ticked off at the hubby……

I wish I could get one of those sk’s. Do you take kidneys?

LMAO at that one! 😆 I could probably spare part of my liver or spleen. Although seriously, there are a few pieces that I would really *love* to acquire. 😉

I liked the coloring on Maverick as well as the markings on Lily. I have 2 American Bobtails, and they have the lynx point coloring with the blue eyes. But not the rosettes or spots like these guys 😀

I think I did get them all. But will go back again and make sure.
In the meantime, I think I have the eggs correctly in the signature line, so let’s see. 😉

I was going to the cave entrance, but prior to a few moments ago, I couldn’t *get* a scroll. I just registered with a different user name/password (and am wondering why it didn’t do this the last 3 million times I tried….) and got to the page with the scroll info on it. So now I’ll have to wait until there are more eggs.
    Thanks to those who answered!!

    HELP!!!
I am getting more frustrated by the minute. I have followed all the instructions I could find, verified the account, logged into and out of that site, and when I get to the cave entrance, and click on get mine, once I get to the log in page and enter my info, I get invalid username/password, or account may have been disabled. Yet the same info gets me into their forums. What am I doing wrong??? *bangs head on desk repeatedly*

I am growing more aggravated and frustrated by the minute. I have gone and created an account, verified same, logged into and out of their site/forum, read all the things I was supposed to read there, and I still can’t manage to get my hands on an egg. I get to the entrance, click on an egg, and it tells me I need to be logged in. I get the login screen, type in all my info, and get a message that says account username/password invalid or account disabled. But I can use that info to log in and out of their site w/ no trouble. I tried creating another account using another email address, and I get a message that the ip number has already been used. AARRRRRRRRRGGGH!

Dragon nursery, adult dragon pages, and all the eggs and dragons on folks’ signatures? I clicked on some of them, got sent to a new page, and then they didn’t go anywhere and I’d end up back here, none the wiser. 😕 *sigh*

in reply to: DOG OWNERS! – Important info about toxins #693113

Another thing that is very poisonous is the black mulch made for cocoa shells. They contain large amounts of theobromine, which is the ingredient in dark chocolate that is also poisonous. The mulch smells a lot like chocolate, and has been responsible for a few deaths already.
And with the chocolate, the darker the candy, the more poisonous it is. A 1/2 lb. bar is likely to be fatal for a smaller dog or cat.

Don’t forget trees also contribute to our atmosphere by taking in CO2 and giving off oxygen! I love to sit out on our sunporch in the spring and summer–it’s underneath a huge old oak in our back yard. I’ve hung all my windchimes (I love them; got about 8 of ’em all on the same tree) on it, along with my bird feeders.

Congrats, Kyrin! They look good to me. 😀

We have 8 here; 7 purebred Arabs, 1 3/4 Arab Pinto. Pictures are on my web site, click the www button below. (I forgot how to load pics here; will have to go back and look..grrr)

The youngest is just 3 weeks old tomorrow; the oldest is my Pinto at 30 years. I’ve had him since he was 4.

On the name thing, I try to give each critter a chance to tell me it’s name. The adult horses I have all came with names, and I never bothered to change them–they always end up with nicknames, any way. 😆
The colt born 3 weeks ago didn’t get his name until about a week ago. Both parents are gray (I have both parents here…) and this boy was born black, or so I thought the night he was born. Well, get him outside into the bright light, and the hair I thought was gray around his eyes turns out to be a light brown, which makes him bay. When he was born, and I got a good look at him, I told my hubby we might just be keeping this one as a replacement for his daddy later on. Of course, hubby’s reaction is “Then someone needs to go!” I told him HE could pick who that might be. 😆 Knowing well that he’s about as attached to them as I am.
Any way, I work with someone who is fluent in Arabic. And inadvertently, he gave me the name of the colt. His name is GTS Hanshouf–which means “We shall see”. As in :Are we gonna keep him? I dunno…we’ll see. Is he gonna be gelded? I dunno…we’ll see. And last but not least, Is he gray? I dunno…..we’ll see! 😉
I also believe in the name can turn out to be what you get. I’d been thinking of calling the colt something that would indicate his personality right now, which is an instigator of trouble–he eggs on his big sister and causes his mom to have to run her off. But I figured if I call him something like that, he’ll never grow out of it! And given the fact that I think this boy is going to be well over 15 hands when he grows up, a troublemaker is the LAST thing I need. 😯

    Phoenix,

I know how you feel. About 4 years ago, we had a foal born to a maiden mare. This mare is a total nudge, and will go out of her way to get into trouble sometimes. The colt was born about 2 weeks early, while it was still pretty cold, wet and nasty weather. So I made the decision to put a baby blanket on him. It had velcro strips that fastened at the neck, and one that went under the body. I put it on the baby, made sure the mare wasn’t going to mess with it, and went back to the house to warm up. I went back out to the barn about 2 hours later, and found the blanket off the foal, turned inside out, and the foal down on the other side of the stall, unable to get up. Bottom line was that his momma hung him trying to get that damned blanket off. Crushed his trachea, and fractured a vertebra in his neck. He died in my arms at 4 days old. To this day, I will not use a blanket on my foals. So, yeah….I guess I know about the what ifs.
    But nothing happens for no reason, even if that reason isn’t immediately clear to us. Try not to blame yourself too much; it’s easy to miss something when we get distracted. I know it’s hard, but it was an accident. {{{{hugs from NJ}}}}

“I would like to do all the dragons in BEP (black emerald peacock) or BVP (black violet peacock) but I can’t decide which.I think I favor the BEP myself. Green is more of a contrasting color against the black dragon’s body.
Can’t wait to get up and running again! So much to do!
I think we may be able to do a batch of Laps in BVP before the move. We somehow ended up with about four extra carts full of lap castings, so we need to paint ’em in something. We already have enough Laps painted in all of the other colors to last us through the transition..”

BEP! BEP! I’d *FIND* a way to buy one of those!:squeak: :squeak: :squeak: :squeak:

    Thanks, Star!
The Kirin *IS* very pretty! I can see why there are so many squeaks for him. I’m not so sure about the beagle griffin, though. I’d have to sit and think on that one a while….especially since my family had beagles when I was a kid. They aren’t my favorite canine. 😆 Maybe if I just tell myself it’s not a beagle, it’s calico….or piebald…..or..anything other than a beagle….
