These wonderful living trees that provide us with inspiration, awe, shelter, shade… wood and paper, housing and art, feed us with their fruits nuts and seeds, flowers and beauty, medicines and cures, clean our air and water, and are all around wonderful.

Even if you cannot plant one today, take a moment to reflect on all that we have today due to trees and remember to respect them. 🙂

April 25, 2008 at 7:20 pm #693104My BF and I plated 4 trees last week. He is great at starting them from seeds but I’m running out of room to plant them 😆 That is a beautiful tree Jen!!!
April 25, 2008 at 7:25 pm #693105I hugged a tree today. On both Earth and Arbor day, every year, mom and I have planted a tree. We make a whole spiritual celebration about it. It’s very refreshing and each year (though some are in NY prior to 93), weve gone back to various locations and seen how theyve come along. It’s great fun and very satisfying.

April 25, 2008 at 7:38 pm #693106Don’t forget trees also contribute to our atmosphere by taking in CO2 and giving off oxygen! I love to sit out on our sunporch in the spring and summer–it’s underneath a huge old oak in our back yard. I’ve hung all my windchimes (I love them; got about 8 of ’em all on the same tree) on it, along with my bird feeders.
April 25, 2008 at 8:48 pm #693107Right now, I’m reading the Soldier’s Son trilogy by Robin Hobb, in which trees carry the memories of the People. I find it very fitting for the day!
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.
