I tend to take tags off my production pieces, and leave them on OOAK pieces, though that’s not totally set in stone. I knew the moment I opened my GB wolf that she was staying with me, forever, and I snipped the tag off then and there, whereas with my poad, I knew that trading later would be tempting, so I left it on. On my ebay griff, I doubt he’ll be going anywhere anytime soon, but I left it on because it’s easy to hide under his big bottom. My baby kirin’s however…she doesn’t hide it, and it’s probably only a matter of time.
Eventually, if I like something enough that I know it’s not going anywhere, I snip the tag. *shrugs*
A modest collection but well loved. I don’t have a lot of space to display, so I tend to be fairly choosy. I’ve got a white gothic somewhere too who didn’t want to come out, apparently. Newest addition is the freshly painted kirin on the left there.

Photos finally! Sorry it’s taken me so long. I’ve got a killer cold today that kept me home from work, so, what better use of my time than to upload Windstone photos, right?
LupusLunae helped me get this li’l guy, and I couldn’t be more pleased! He’s got (lime?) green eyes and a green jewel, and was one of my top picks! I’m pretty sure I’m going to hang on to this lil guy, but I’ll -consider- trades. You never know, after all.

Heh…heh…so, Blue was at my place for…ah…Thanksgiving. And it’s taken a phenomenal cold to keep me home from work and make me upload, finally!
We had fun though! First, we went to Hawaii!
Then he helped me finish some illustrations for Rudolph the red-nosed Reindeer!
and gave some encouragement to some cm projects in the works that needed some tlc.

I got mine today! I’ll post pics tomorrow, but he’s the lava lichen one in the middle row right between four and five o’clock to the left of the purple-head rainbow zebra. He’s quite handsome 🙂

I think it basically boils down to what drag0n said: communicate clearly. I’ve only done one or two trades on here, but I’ve done them other places. General rules seem to be:
If you’re waiting to decide, say so (a deadline helps, if you can…like ‘I’ll get back to you by this friday’)
If the items are going to be roughly the same weight, each pays their own shipping, it’s a pretty big hassle to reimburse each other through paypal for a dollar or two in shipping difference, but here I could see potential for same value, different weight changes: i.e. if someone wanted to trade a GB uni for a production Dragon or something larger like that, then mutual shipping reimbursement would probably be the way to go.
Ship out in a timely manner (obviously)
If you decide to go with a trade from someone else, let the others who were considering yours know that the offer is off the table.
And last but not least: trading is voluntary, don’t be miffed if someone doesn’t want to trade with you. We all know when we buy a GB that you may just end up with one that’s not your cup of tea, but be a good sport about it, there will be other batches, and it’s not like there’s a deadline on trading. I’m still holding out for an oryx baby, or (really holding out by a long shot) a young. I may wait indefinitely, but you never know…

I’m not taking sides in the argument – but please let’s not have an argument about grab bag unicorns and who got them and who didn’t. The rules are one per person, not one per household.
If you have concerns about this rule (or the enforcement of the rule), please feel free to reach out to the Shihiv, Susie, John, or any of the scatterbats.
However, please don’t try to make other forum members feel bad – whichever side of the issue they are on! 🙂

I think we’ve seen opinions, but no seriously hard feelings. I certainly don’t mind if someone gets a second as a gift, I -do- consider it bending, but it’s still not breaking, and like (I forgot who…) said earlier, gifts are to make people happy, and how can you be mad at someone for getting a surprise gift?
Also, sorry for commenting on the subject again.
I’ll just be quiet now and enjoy the baby parade 🙂

I told my husband about the one per person rule when he said he’d try to buy one for me as a present along with me trying to get one… I told him not to do it since these guys are so limited…. if he wanted to get me a gift, I told him to get a different production piece. But maybe I should tell him to go ahead and try for a grab bag anyway for the next time they come out, if that is an accepted practice? Seems like lots of people have their S.O.’s get them a second uni… Hrm. *confused :
I side with you on this one, I think getting a second through someone else, though technically not against the rules, is bending them a little 😉 I don’t have and hard feelings toward those who do get a second, but kudos for giving others a chance at one!
Ooh, Fatalbeauty, you got one of my top picks! Mine probably won’t be here until next week yet, but -do- keep me in mind if I get a leaf one!
I really REALLY hate pink, but I still think that rose griffin is beautiful, which is Saying Something.
