I’d check with Windstone first, before organizing a tour of the factory.
Well yes, I’d talk to them before making any firm plans, but I’ve been to the factory twice now, they’re very willing to give people a tour through when they drop by, it’d just be a matter of making sure the group wasn’t too big and they were expecting us.
I’m glad there’s some interest! I’m not too worried about logistics, as I’ve said, I’ve organized events like this before. :3 The only worry would be getting enough people to make it worth while. It’s not really worth doing if only two or three people besides myself could come.
I’ve been so stupidly busy I haven’t had time to finish either of the PYOs I have in progress right now, but I did think I should mention that I’m putting up the ones I’ve got for sale on ebay.
And hopefully I’ll get a little more free time someday to finish them, they’re both going to be awesome. One’s a kittygriff in a spring theme, and the other is an 80s themed kirin, lots of bright, loud colors. 😀
😀 Thanks! (Now if I could just sell the PYOs… oh well. I will probably try ebay eventually, I just hate having to sit and hope for bids for so long and then give them their cut. Bleh.)
The spoon thing is such a useful way to talk about something we don’t really have a word for. “Tired” isn’t right, exactly, it’s not like I need to sleep. I need to not have any responsibilities and not have to socialize, is what I really need.
Anyhow, I’ve sold Celestia, Chrysalis and Cadance. Still have Twilight and both Discords left.
Congrats! They look so cute all together! 🙂
Why is the old Green so hard to find?
As far as I know only one batch of them was ever made, and it was small. (20? Something like that?) So there just aren’t that many of them out there, and nobody wants to sell theirs.
Cool ! Now how does one go about obtaining one? What does one have to do? Breed Fuzzies?
I suspect it varies. In my case it was probably because I brought a gigantic box full of fabric scraps for fuzzies when I visited the factory a few weeks ago. 🙂 That and I’ve been making my own fuzzies (mine are called wooly slugs) for years now.
Congrats on the fledglings! I have a few of them as they are one of my favourite dragon sculpts but I don’t have room for all of them. How many do you have?
I’ve got 20 of them. 🙂
No, I don’t have the “goof up” silver. I wouldn’t mind having one, (or a test paint, of course!) but buying the red fire has run me flat out of funds for a while.
I’ve done three successful kickstarter campaigns, and I can talk shop about it if you’d like. There is a TON of material out there about it, though much of it is aimed at games and gadgets rather than art. Still, I suggest doing some googling about how to run a kickstarter, you’ll find quite a lot that’s useful.
Yeah, I just did the same thing. I obviously have no chance of winning anything, and the one I liked best could use another vote or two, so…
Argh. I can’t decide how to vote. I mean… it’s tempting to just vote for my own. I do think mine is good! But if I’m 100% honest, I think it’s a second or maybe third place entry, not first. But it’s so hard to vote against myself when I really want to win!
I think maybe I will have to skip the voting, I can’t possibly vote and be fair.

Here’s my two cents. :3
This is a business transaction. Their personal life situation doesn’t make you obligated to sell to them any more than your personal life situation makes somebody obligated to buy from you. (Which is to say, not at all!)
Keep it professional. Simply set out your terms, say they’re not negotiable, and don’t negotiate. If they won’t respect that, block them and move on. There will be other buyers, and somebody who tries to manipulate you like that is probably a buyer you’re better off without, frankly.
SPark: Is your old green Fledlging signed? numbered? I’m having trouble finding it in our lists of what we’ve made.
It’s signed, but not numbered. I bought it through the webstore here, not on ebay or anything. It was part of a very small batch (I want to say ten?) that pretty much sold out instantly.
Edit: Just read the comments below this. I was close, at least!
Will there ever be a baby dragon (little fledgie) in old green? I would love to have one
At present, there is no old green paint and I don’t think they’ve been able to find a good way to mix the greens they have to match. So, no old green babies at present, but maybe someday if they can get a paint match! 🙂
Didn’t I do a really small batch of old green fledgies once?
We have plenty of the light green paint left, but only a cup or two of the dark color. I may as well use it up on something though, since the liquid paint doesn’t have an unlimited shelf life. You did! I think you did a batch of just ten or twenty? I was lucky enough to snag one, so I’m quite sure they exist.
