Ok. I’m putting in links due to using my phone to do this. Sorry. Anyway, here’s a few photos…none of then do him any justice or accurately reflect his true color, which reminds me of a purple martin.

Fun note: he was done 100% with pearlex pigments, but I didn’t apply the powder directly (so messy!) I mixed it into some Golden medium instead. And he was my first try and sort of semi-dry brushing over black instead of antiquing with black. For gem tones like this it is the perfect method, though the lightest orange and yellow ere SO transparent they needed way too many coats.
Edit: nevermind, I am just being unobservant, as usual! He arrived okay. I am going to go post the pics I took of him.
I popped this gorgeous guy in the lightbox today and got some photos. I’m thinking of taking him outside and getting some sunlight ones too, later on, as the softer lighting doesn’t really bring out the sparkle. This shows the subtle details of the paint job pretty well, though.

I’m not sure which I’m more excited for, seeing my partner get it, or getting the one that’s presumably headed towards me!

Finally got pictures of the Psychedelic foo mother. And I finished the Willow-and-stone foo father too. (Click for larger images.)
The psychedelic mother foo is all done, but taking pictures of glow in the dark stuff is such a pain in the butt I’ve been putting it off. Maybe when the willow-and-stone father is finished I’ll get pics of them both. It’s pretty much done too.
I use a paint on. It does sometimes form bubbles sometimes, but they’re easy enough to get rid of, you just have to pay attention so you don’t miss any.
Do you paint interference paint over your last coat of paint, or do you mix it in with other colors then paint it on ?
Depends a bit on what I’m doing, but usually I apply it over the top of the existing colors, yes.
Thanks! I set that one aside for a bit to paint the base colors on the other one. It just needs interference paint, antiquing, and some bright silver finish now. (And the other one still just needs all the glowy bits.) They’ll probably be done pretty soon.
I thought I’d put up a little update. It’s reached three stretch goals, so there are now changelings, batponies, and draconequuses (like Discord) available. There’s also just one week left. I’m quite excited to see how the last week will go.
