Weekly Windstone #7: 2018 grab bag green/gold colorshift tanuki!

About a year ago, Bonnie put up five colorshift tanukis for sale on a Saturday at 6am my time. When I woke up and checked Facebook, it was my first time seeing these little guys, and I had to have at least one!
I picked out the green one as my absolute favorite, but unfortunately, he had already been sold, so I had to settle for the blue one.
As luck would have it, about 3 months later, I found out that Tara, who had him then, was willing to part with him! I love how sometimes you think you missed out on a piece forever, but then it comes back around!
He’s now been reunited with his blue buddy, and an additional red tanuki I’ve gotten since then.
I absolutely love the designs on these guys, and the green one is still my favoritest. ❤️

Am I the only one bothered by the rise of fluff under the front legs on the new ponycorn?
That did stand out to me, and it reminded me of the qi-lin, and made me feel like the pose was rather similar to the qi-lin’s.
I’m also not super into unicorns/horses, so I wasn’t so sure about a new unicorn sculpt at all.
But of course I’m looking forward to seeing all of them and buying one, anyway! 😅

I didn’t have my eye on any of the black and red koi-lins when I saw the class pictures, but when I wound up pulling this guy, I felt super lucky to have him.
He’s absolutely gorgeous, and he fits right into my black and red display!

I wasn’t sure I would be sold on any of the Cirrus test paints. I tend to like paints with more colors. But as soon as I saw the old warrior, I absolutely fell in love!
Darker colors always look very nice on Windstones, but I’d prefer to have lighter colors in my collection. I feel like Cirrus is one of the rare times a light color will look great on an old warrior.
I love how “cloudy,” fantastical, magical, and inviting he looks! 😊

Weekly Windstone #4: grab bag African wild dog hippogriff colt!

I actually wasn’t too excited about the hippocolts at first, but when I saw this one in the class picture, I absolutely fell in love with his sweet little face.
Heather was kind enough to let me know that she got him, but she wasn’t interested in the ones I had, and we couldn’t find anyone else who wanted to trade one that she was looking for, either.
After about a week of being super disappointed about nothing working out, she offered to sell him to me, and I was soooo happy!
He’s absolutely perfect. I stop and look at him all the time. I love the markings on his face and neck, and how the black line on his wings goes straight down without the little divot that some of them have, and how his paws are darker than his back legs, and his coat pattern is great.
I’m super picky about details, and he’s flawless! Seeing him every day makes me so happy. He’s one of my favoritest Windstones, and I feel super lucky that I was able to get him.

Some of the plants are actually part of a removable base that the PYO artist, Anastasia Albatross, made to go with it. It’s super cool!

I wasn’t sure I would be interested in any of the autumn harvest pieces, but this guy totally stole my heart! He’s my first and (still only) sitting spectral, and he’s an absolute masterpiece. ❤️

I have one absolute favorite from the batch, and the person who received it is willing to trade, but unfortunately, they’re not looking for either of the ones that I have:
They’re interested in ones with spots on the wings and lighter/green eyes (like in the pictures with the black background). If you have one like those and you’d be interested in trading for one of mine, please let me know!

I grew up in St. Louis, MO, which is close to Illinois! My first Windstones came from a store they used to have at malls, too. Wicks n Sticks.

I wonder if getting a 1099 changes where you have to report it, though? I use Tax Act. I think they usually ask me if I got any 1099s, and I would put in the information there, but I’m not sure how to tell it not to count that as a profit.
