While browsing eBay, I ran into this mother dragon. Some of the details don’t seem legit. Never saw an old green that looked like her, anyway o_O
Yep, she’s a fake! I got one just like her. The bulging blue eyes, the light purple jewel, and the green felt bottom are dead giveaways. You can report it to John, but I think they dealt with these particular fakes many years back.
Sorry I’m late, but Happy Birthday!
…so that’s why Santa’s sleigh is driven by reindeer and not kirins…
Thank you so much for the card. It’s adorable!
Wow, those are pretty different! If the colors on the photos are close to life, then mine sits in between those two. Not as blue as the blue one and not as green as the green one. Neat find!
I look forward to seeing the pictures. The Peacock Sun Dragon I have is very similar to the one shown in the auction with perhaps a bit less green. I also have a Young Oriental dragon that matches it very well.
It’s entirely possible that the one you have has more green than normal. These statues are all hand painted, so there can be a great deal of variation. I have a nearly complete set of peacock dragons, and I have discovered that this color can vary a great deal.
From the pictures that I can see, it looks like a regular Peacock Oriental Sun Dragon. Peacock oriental dragons can come in two varieties: 1) bright peacock which has bright blue, purple, and green and 2) dark peacock which has dark blue and purple only (no green). To the best of my knowledge, there are no dark peacock Sun Dragons.
Are you saying there is no blue or purple and only shades of green? If it has blue, purple, and green, it is a peacock which normally comes with blue eyes. If it only has shades of green it is either an emerald or jade. An emerald or jade with blue eyes would be unusual as those colors had red eyes.
There was one Violet Flame secret keeper produced. I’m not 100% sure since the info on it disappeared with the old forum, but I believe it was one of a kind. However, that said, this violet flame secret keeper was a much different color than the violet flames being produced now. It was mostly dark purple with red and orange highlights. (Very pretty; I actually liked it much better than the current color which doesn’t have much true violet) The color being produced now is much closer to the original “Flame” coloration that they produced a batch of prototype old warriors in. I have no idea what difference this will make. Maybe they can get away with calling it a version 2.
Edit:
Found a picture of it in the Cafe Press store: http://www.cafepress.com/windstonestuff.207051157
Oh man, I would be SO STOKED for a production/limited production appaloosa or pinto colour and did I mention I LOVE grulla? (Grulla pinto would be AMAZING!!!) Squeak, squeak, squeak!!
Ditto. I love the pinto patterns on the grab bags and would love to see them production or limited production. Especially grulla pinto or roan.

Yes, we should someday! Maybe we could each bring a little Windstone gift for each other or something, when I’m a little less broke!
As for local shops, I haven’t been to any around here. The only places I bought Windstones at in person were in California. I really should check out where the local places are. Heck maybe we can even go together. :p
Sounds like a plan. You’ll have to let me know what you collect so I can get you the right gift. 🙂
There is a bit of unfortunate news about the local shops though. Vacuums and Dragons closed their physical store at the end of last month. They had the neatest store too – dragons and other fantasy items scattered amongst vacuum displays with all kinds of indoor plants all over the place. They do still have their online store – http://www.vacuumsanddragonsonline.com.
Wishing Well Glassblowers still has a physical storefront, but they are pretty much seasonal. They’ll be open after Thanksgiving if you want to visit them. They are located in the Citadel Mall.
Missed?? Is someone shooting at me? @.@
Us? NEVER!
Welcome back! 🙂

I’ve been told by local shop owners about other Windstone collectors in the city, but I’ve never met any of them. It’s neat to have another forum member in the same city. If you ever want to meet up someday, let me know.
I learned about this last night too when my dog Milly’s breeder wrote to me to check up on her. I was very sad to learn of her passing.
It was through her postings on this forum that I learned about both of my dogs. First, she posted about an 8.5 year old Akita in Boulder that needed a new home. I had just moved into my house and really wanted a dog to keep me company. She was able to get me in touch with her previous owners, and I went and picked her up. Then, several months later, she posted about some Akita puppies. Eventually, there was just one left, and she needed to be re-homed soon. Marji put me in touch with the breeder, and I went and picked her up. The older one, Keiko, is now almost 14, and the younger one, Milly, is 4. Here’s one of my favorite pictures of the two.
Marji, thank you and rest in peace.

I don’t think so, but I’m not 100% sure since I do have a google account…
Sadly, it takes me to a login page every time I click on the link. I’m using Firefox. Any way someone can put a marking for me somewhere in Colorado Springs, CO?
I added you Skylover 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
