Hey guys, I got a webcam today and am going to be streaming some sculpting! The stream will be live around 8pm tonight, EST. I am going to be working on sculpting a few kirins.

I wouldn’t care what the horns looked like as long as they were being made again!
What I’ve always wondered, and there’s probably a good explanation for this, is why are there different horns for each sculpt? Like why can’t the male, mother, and grand unicorns all use the same size/ shape of horn? Then you’d only need one good mould.
If you want a curved horn you could always bent the pewter ones, they’re pretty malleable, LOL. I received one with a curved horn one time XD

I think the unicorns are fine with their normal horns but I like curvy ones too! 😀

I was kind of upset/ sad to read some of the comments here, honestly I really didn’t want to make anyone feel bad by sending extra gifts! I realize it wasn’t a requirement at all, however I had been doing shopping for several other swaps and was putting together packages all last week and had extra things to send along too. I like wrapping things and again was doing that for other packages so did with this too. I asked beforehand whether we should wrap or send extras and the answer I got suggested to me that while it wasn’t required or expected we could if we want. The ornaments posted so far have all been gorgeous and it sounds like all the recipients have liked what they received and that’s what counts! I included a few extras to be just that- “extras”!
Megan, I know we were talking on facebook earlier but again, so happy you like him and thank you for posting all the photos, they’re so cute! I can’t help notice in one of the photos I can see a horse bum, is that the portrait model you’re working on?
I’m going back home on sunday but will come back to my apartment next week to check the mail and do a few other things. Hopefully I will have my ornament then and will post photos! 😀 Customs is probably super slow right now with all the christmas mail. 😛

I like the palominos…but I really LOVED the pangare mother you did, it’s the perfect “shade” of palomino and the spots were gorgeous. The metallic ones are kind of yellow and the one Wampus has is too brown (and I don’t like the brown on the nose much either) although it does seem everyone loves them and I think they’d sell like hotcakes either way!
Then again, I’d prefer either pintaloosa, bay blanket appaloosa, or palomino appaloosa more though 😛
I got the first question after the hint since I failed miserably searching the forum. Ayonah posted that the answer is on deviantart, when I went to deviantart Melody had a journal up mentioning it had something to do with the old animals. I go to the DA gallery, there is a photo of a turtle called “old turtle”, and in the description it mentions Mark Hines Creations. Bingo!

On a side note: Did you ever wonder if our eyes are like comuter monitors? You know, like that colors look differently though other people eyes? Did you ever have one of those arguements with somewhen when looking at something they say it’s blue, but it clearly looks green to you? This is one of those situations where I wonder if our eyes all see colors differently. Just something I’ve been pondering. 🙂
Oh! I’ve always wondered this as well. I think from most perception and vision research science has concluded that it’s impossible to know. Perception in general is entirely relative, I think that’s probably true with colour too. You can ask people what colour something is, but you don’t know for sure exactly what they’re seeing. Even if you measured the nerve signals in your eye to see what your retina is receiving it wouldn’t tell you what the person’s brain is “seeing”, because your brain makes up most of what you “see” anyway.
It’s definitely something I’ve wondered too. Whether colour preference (aside from windstones too) is due to individual things or whether there’s an actual biological vision difference. 😛
I would also like to add, that bringing the orientals into production and fixing the pewter horn issue are, to me, much more important/ exciting than finding a new LP colour… hehe 😛
There are still quite a few things in each colour missing though right? Like not every dragon has been produced in amethyst, silver and rainbow(?). So I can see why they’d want to wait a bit for a new colour. Not sure if Melody and John are necessarily vetoing Barn Swallow, it’s possible they aren’t thinking seriously about which colour they want to introduce yet and were just expressing surprise at how popular it is.
I haven’t really mentioned this because I don’t really buy dragons so don’t think my opinion counts for much, but I agree with Wampus in disliking the colour as well. I don’t necessarily hate it, but there are others I like much, much more. Aside from pink and lavender pearl, I think since I’ve joined the forum the only colour I’d really like to see in production for dragons is turquoise.
As a compromise I suggest that you guys just get PS to paint a whole ton more Barn Swallows for ebay. Like 3-4 of each dragon, then lots of people can get one and you can decide on an LP later.
Omg yes. I don’t generally buy dragons from the store, the only 3 I have bought have all been curlies. But I would buy anything and everything in PINK.
Fledglings especially, they would look SOOOO cute! Mother and male, orientals (<3!!), coiled mother, coiled male, spectrals, everything.
