Neptune is quite a stunner! I am loving the teal/black combo. The rockwork is prettily colored and blended, and I absolutely love how you painted and detailed the mane. Exquisite!
May 11, 2017 at 10:05 am in reply to: 5/5/17 Hatching Pegasus Natural & Fantasy Show Off Thread! #1524170These are my two. Mixed feelings on them; I’m not necessarily displeased with them but they don’t particularly sing to me either. I literally could not find the fantasy one in the class picture; just try looking for a teal egg, white sock, small white star, and light blue eyes–not there!
These were impossible to photograph! The fantasy one is a colorshift zebra pegasus with a teal egg w/speckling, light blue eyes, a small white star on her forehead, and some magic sparkle paint coating her body. The natural is a dark bay with light brown eyes, a white blaze/dot, grey wing bars, and silver dots on the wing edges.
They’re currently up in the trades. There’s several I really want to see pictures of in the fantasy group (and keeping my eye out for the blue-egged leopard appy as she matches the gb baby peg I have). If my pegs aren’t appealing I do have other stuff available for trade so please keep me in mind if you peek at my ad and see that you have a peg I’m seeking.
Apologies if my photos are wonky. Weather outside is awful and I’m half asleep trying to post/resize/etc. Blarg and whatnot.
My tadpoad arrived from Matty today and I feel incredibly blessed! (At least I assume it was Matty as the sender was a Matthew.) Anyway…in addition to the tadpoad I received a beautiful blown glass ornament called “The Tree of Friendship” and a woodblock print to “Never Stop Making Wishes”. Whether intentional or accidental, the ornament was right up my alley as I have a collection of blown glass + glass paperweights and it fits right in! The card sent with the package was pretty spectacular too, as it looked handmade with layers of cut paper in the shape of a flower.
As for my tadpoad…well…without further ado, may I present Orielly Wormhunter III. She comes from a family of wormhunters who seek out lost wormlings and return them to their familes! She’s a pretty rainbow-backed black tadpoad with eyes in one of my favorite options (the seafoamy light green)!
Thank you so much Matty!
I’m ready to dump the whole batch in the trash, and hide in a closet. With chocolate.
Sometimes you just have to hide in the chocolate closet til it all blows over. Hugs.
Yeah…and sometimes chocolate just ain’t enough… >_>
You’ve a lot on your plate already Melody. I don’t think anyone will complain if you need to take a break. 🙂
And I’m sure our wallets would be happier for it, too.I’ve had this cutie for a few days, just haven’t had an opportunity to take photos. My PIF raffle gift was this violet flame hatching dragon!
As if that wasn’t cool enough, Celestial Rainstorm was awesome enough to include this hand drawn, Sharpie-colored picture she did herself. It’s adorable! (The arm twitches were hitting me hard today though so my pic doesn’t do it justice–it was blurry no matter what I did.)
Thank you!
Thanks guys!
Woo! I won something! That’s a once-in-a-year thing for me, if I’m lucky! Darn my incorrigible luck.
I can’t wait to see the surprise and share it.
I would like to enter please.
I’ll paint a foop. After the stress of painting that last papa foo I’m fairly sure I can handle a puppy!
Happy Birthday!
Don’t work too hard. 🙂Please enter me, too! I’m really liking that shade of green, and I never say no to purples. 😉
Since we’re on the subject of new sculpts… well, obviously you’ve done a lot of dragons already, but when you’re ready to think about another new dragon sculpt… would one with outspread wings be possible? I’ve been thinking lately about how it feels like that’s missing from the Windstone dragon family and how great it would look! I was actually gonna post this in the squeak thread but this kind of seemed like an opportune moment, lol.
In a similar vein to this, I personally hope to see another griffin in their family in the future. You’ve got mama, papa, and the two chicks…but I’d love to see an angsty teenage fledgling. One could argue that the PYO kind of sort of fits that bit but it’ll never be done to match any production pieces (excepting commissions or painting it oneself) so I feel that that particular point is moot.
I’m also looking forward to seeing the finished quillin (or whatever Melody ends up naming her more lion-like kirin).
Rylorien your Kirin’s are all so beautiful. Your picture makes me a little sad.. its almost like the sitting Kirin is saying goodbye to the others before they left lol.
Ha! It’s possible they were saying goodbye. I would probably say they were exiling the little guy for his “fishy” behavior. Oh ho ho.
WELL! I hope that little Blue Legs was ashamed of himself. He didn’t learn that behavior at MY house! Seriously, the standing kirins do look very cute all together.
Lol! It doesn’t take much for a mob mentality to take over, especially when jealousy is involved! (I mean, if I had to be forevermore sitting or standing I’d probably want to be sitting too!) As for the kirin, I adore them. I’m so happy to have a few favorites in my home. Now all I need is a specially painted mama and papa kirin to have a mixed [up] family hehe.
@sceneable Wow. Just wow. You have a splendid collection, especially the hoofers! They’re beautifully matched…I bet that took quite a bit of time to gather this piece here, that piece there, until you had coordinated family groups. They’re amazing. If I may, what’s the name of your silhouette unicorn? I love the golden and silvery hues on her. The random golden dots in the silver is a cute touch, too.

@Natasha Wow! Those diablo kirin are very striking! And that okapi unicorn is just gorgeous. Grats!
Here’s hoping you have a very Happy Birthday!
Thanks to some amazing forum members I was able to add some favorite kirin babies to my small collection. I officially have a herd now! This was taken just before the little sitting baby went to her new home.
