Don’t worry too much Melody. I wouldn’t have ordered if there were any in there I would be upset about getting. I think they’re all great!
I got a ship notice and I chose priority mail, so hopefully I’ll get mine today or tomorrow, or at the latest, Wednesday.
Seconding Wampus. Generally, as weird as it is, the smaller the tank is, the harder it is to take care of. Less water means less time for things to go spectacularly wrong, I guess.
I hope your next attempt at fishkeeping goes much better. And I second the guppy recommend for a little tank like that.
I bought one this time because they *all* reminded me of the Fashion Star Fillies we played with when I was a kid. Of course there are several I like more than the rest, but I’m sure I’ll be happy with whatever I get.
As to the website problems, I think next time (if there is a next time) I’m with the idea of just announcing a day, and not a specific time, to avoid all the refreshing that went on. Just a “They’ll be in the store sometime today! You’ll get the notification email when they go up” would be fine, and then the ‘put in cart, remove from inventory for a period of time’ trick.
Dude, for real? I can’t hardly believe someone would be so greedy and hateful as to seriously suggest that! Whoever they are needs to go play in the road. For crying out loud!

I have puppy fever of my own, and have had for nearly a year and a half now. Let me tell you what, it’s going to be an awesome day when I can finally go and get another dog. (the cats are great and all and I love them, little vibrating hot water bags, but they’re not the same thing).
I can’t wait to see more pictures!
Like I said, I’m pretty sure it was a thinly veiled excuse. My sister’s in laws are coming with, and we have a suite in one of the resorts, and they have already consented to ‘baby sitting’ after they are done for the day while we go and do grown up things.
We’ll be down there 5 days, so if you wanted to say ‘hi’, Laurie, or wander the parks with us for a day or two, it might be fun.
I guess I’ve used up my edits for the first post/title.

Your dog is far less likely to get distemper than it is parvo.
Genuine distemper cases are quite rare nowadays (and they’re also almost 100% fatal in dogs too, not just ferrets) and it’s not something I would worry a whole lot about.
Your 12 week information is correct, and that’s always the hard part, because your socialization window is from 8 – 11 weeks. So you’ll have to get puppy out around other dogs and people that you know are kept up to date with their vaccines and minimize contact with dogs you don’t know, if you’re extremely concerned.
This is also a great discussion to have with the vet when you take him in for his first puppy visit.
