Dangit, my grab bag sketches seem to have been sitting in Kansas City since the 10th. (And I live in Mid-Missouri. 8| )
This is especially bad since I had a media mail package that arrived in Kansas City at about the same time and it came yesterday. 8|
WAAAAAAAAANT.
I must be alone in that I was never afraid of the dentist.
Then again, the only time I EVER had cavities was my first time, when I was in first grade. The rest of the time was smooth sailing. I didn’t even need braces. (I have freakishly naturally straight teeth!)
And I am SO GLAD I never woke up when I got my wisdom teeth pulled. The only thing that was truly miserable about that whole thing for me was wanting to eat REAL FOOD instead of yogurt, Jell-O and stuff. This was back around with this forum opened and Melody was sending me PMs checking up on me saying “Jell-O good!”
…Sorry, but I still think that’s hilarious to this day.
But yeah one day my parents had Lee’s fried chicken while I was still on the soft food and I WAS SO JEALOUS I COULDN’T STAND IT. 😐
I already sent you an email as soon as I got mine. OF COURSE I LOVE IT SILLY.
Then again I’ve been drooling over your art even when it was “old and stinky” as you call your older pieces now…wee little 13 year old me drooling over your Elfwood gallery in 2001. 😆

30 sketches in one day! Dang! Then again I know some art school students who have had to do similar numbers of drawings. D:

Just posting one little one ’cause I thought it was neat:
A genetically modified wolf character I got for a sketch exchange. Basically described to have “bones under her skin.” (I’m not one to draw creatures that skinny, myself!) Everybody said she was cute, which was NOT the intention, but the person liked it.
This was all completed and shaded in ballpoint pen. WEEE. That was fun. Seriously.
OOOOOO….I always wanted a sparkly of my very own!
I like peridot. Because it’s um…bright green? My Dakota PYO now has a peridot in his tail.
and Jen, that ring is GOREGOUS. *squee*

Only thing I wouldn’t be too wild about is kirins, but the rest is fair game! 😀

I love They Might Be Giants…seriously. There was this one song they did called “Thunderbird”…which I’m pretty sure is about substance abuse. D: But they had this one phrase in the song that said “spread my thunderwings and fly” and I thought it was AWESOME. While you can’t make wings out of SOUND, which is what thunder is, I imagined lightning wings. So here’s mah robot Lillian with lightning wings. GROOVY.Like most anything They Might Be Giants write, it isn’t lucid. “All meanings are correct, all meanings are bunk.”
OMG. It’s a baaaaaaaaby Dakota. :> I started this more than a year ago, back with the griffie chicks were being released by Windstone, so there’s obvious inspiration. And his wings are all PINFEATHERY! Oh no, pinfeathers itch. 🙁
JUST FINISHED THIS TODAY, WEEE! When I got Jen’s art book I wanted to get out my pens and pencils immediately and draw some gryphons. SO I DID. Dakota and Lindsay being all snuggly, as per usual. SAPS. I like this, even though the Nambroth influence is TERRIBLY HORRIBLE OBVIOUS. Sorry Nam. :<I like abusing textures in my artwork. A LOT.

My Windstone candlelamps always have the Yankee Candle “Raspberry Creme” ones. They smell like CANDY. I want to eat them.
My room is downstairs with good ventilation so I’m pretty sure it’s okay to burn my candles sometimes despite having a lovebird…>.> Not that I really burn candles anymore.

Thank you guys sooooooooooo muuuuuuuuch. Sorry I didn’t reply earlier. This morning Mother Nature was like “Happy bifday! I hurd u liek lightning! Have sum!” (Yeah Mother Nature speaks LOL Cat speak) and there was a massive storm keeping me off the computer.

Have any of you Windstone folks got any closer to the answer on the ceramic-like “crazing” that can occur on some Windstones? I want to sell my crouching griffin chick so I can get a brown one instead, but upon inspection over his own right “brow” he has those mysterious hairline cracks. I can’t get a picture right now because the weather is HORRIBLE hear and I always depend on lighting to get good photos…maybe I can try with my full-spectrum light, but I’m just curious if you know anything more about this “phenomenon,” since you say Windstones shouldn’t do that.
And just in the small, tiny case it MAY matter, the place in my room the griffins are don’t get direct sunlight; although they are near a lava lamp. XD But it’s side of the face facing away from the lava lamp that has the “crazing”. The other side is fine, and the mother griffin, which is even closer to the lava lamp, has no such marks at all.
Anybody got any ideas about this stuff?
I had bought a Pearl griffin chick back when they were first released. At first I had my heart set on the brown griffin chicks because, to me, the brown colour was what a griffin chick looked like, but I saw the chicks and couldn’t stand to wait until the browns came out, and got a Pearl sitting chick as my first gryphlet.
She is signed, mint, complete with tag and original box. My photography skills are horrible so it’s hard to get an idea from the photos if she’s a “darkly” shaded chick or not, but she’s got a rather nice light-gray cap and some light shading. Here’s some photos anyway:

I originally paid $60 + $10 shipping for the ickle baby griffin, and I’ll be leaving it at that. BUT- if you want to, we can do a crazy little deal:
If you have a brown sitting griffin chick you don’t really want, with box, or want to buy one from the site for me, I WILL TRADE. Since I don’t want to totally rip myself off I just ask for $10 shipping for the white gryphlet to you. If that doesn’t sound fair, a straight sale of the griffin chick to you will be just as fine!
Again, I have the original box, and since I have small boxes and packing peanuts up the over here I will most certainly double pack. I will personally ship over USPS Priority Mail unless requested otherwise. I can try to ship outside of the US if someone really wants it, but a raised shipping cost will mostly likely be seen.
ONE LAST NOTE: From Saturday to Wednesday night, I will be out of town. If someone claims her today, I will do my best to get her ready for shipping so my parents can get her out for me while I’m gone. Otherwise, you may have to wait till after Wednesday for me to get her shipped.

Holy crap! When I saw the title “budgie gryph” I just had to click because I’d imagine those black bars would be such a pain! But that WIP shot is beautiful! I also love the soft, soft blending. 🙂

lamortefille> Yes, English budgies were specifically bred to be rather largeish, with those huge The Brain-like foreheads (I always compare English Budgie’s heads to The Brain from Pinky and the Brain) for show. “American” budgies are much, much, much more closer to wild budgies, especially the green ones since that’s their natural colour. 😀 Kinda like the budgiegryph!
