Finally got to open mine – meet Voltaire. Since Balder hoofed it to Rusti, my next hope was one of the coppery/bronze ones, and I got lucky. He is a beauty and the pictures simply do not do him justice. I’ll try taking some outside tomorrow to see if they are more flattering to this pretty boy.

I got my Young Unicorn yesterday (He was due Monday, so he sat on my porch all day!). Can’t take pictures but he is in the second Class picture, bottom row, second from the left. His name is Saxifrage, which is a genus of rock flowers, according to Google. In the picture, he looks very gold but the gold is actually the magenta gold color shift paint so, at least in indoor lighting, he looks red gold. Very pretty; if I can find someone to photograph him I will post pictures (don’t know when that will be). He wasn’t on anyone’s favorite list but if you suddenly have a yen for him, let me know. I might like one with brighter colors and/or feathers but am happy to keep Sax.
All the unicorns so far have been fantastic! Melody continues to outdo herself!

I can’t believe they sold out in under 24 hours! Holy Smokey! (One uni amounts to a week’s pay for me, so not something I could really do, you people are either crazy or really well paid! :P).
I can’t believe it sold out so quickly, either; quite a few of the forum members said they were going to skip the young unicorns for financial reasons. As for why we spend so much? Crazy, of course!
