Logged in, ordered a male and female sushi cat, checked the cart to make sure they didn’t dive out for cover and checked out. Everything seemed to go smoothly with my transaction.

Edit: Did a double check of the cart after everything went through. Got receipts from Windstone and Paypal. But the two sushi cats are still showing in my cart. There is a timer counting down. Also, I use Firefox as my browser. -scratches cheek- I’m wondering if I should remove the two in the cart? Or should I leave them there and just check back after their timer expires?

The horns, it’s always the horn isn’t it, lol. But I have to say I’m excited to see forked horns for the Kirins, forked wood-like horns have always been how I imagine Kirins having.

Isn’t it though! Well, it’s good to know a general timeline for the PYO Orientals. Thanks for asking the burning question! I was checking the store every day for them. Now I can relax.

I’m rather excited to see the forked horns for the pyo kirins too!

That is really neat! I like it a lot. Did you put everything together like a kit or on your own? I’m curious how you went about it. Or did you just do the painting?

The dragon was an unpainted Reaper miniature (for table top gaming) from their Bones line. The platform is a pine piece I bought from JoAnns and then sanded and stained. The clear crystals are from an ugly necklace I found extremely discounted at JC Penny’s/Macy’s (I painted them because they were clear with yellow tint before). The snow is Apoxie Sculpt and the black stones are just Sculpey that I painted black and put gold interference on. So yup, assembled and painted on my own! 😀

It was a fun little project that was inspired by the dragon figure. He just looked so weird standing there with his front leg outstretched for no reason. He NEEDED scenery to interact with.

Thank you all for your lovely comments! They really brighten my day!

I like the antiqued metal look of him. And the blue is a wonderful shade. It really goes well with the body.

I guess I’ve got the unpopular opinion! I tried to think about how I would feel if I entered a swap and someone sold my piece, and I have to say I would not be happy about it. I would not be able to say anything about it because I agree – the piece that I swap is the person’s who I swapped to, but I guess I’ve just always been under the impression that selling swap pieces would be frowned upon because I wouldn’t feel good about doing it and I wouldn’t feel good about it being done with a piece I painted.

Seeing someone trade a piece I swapped would sting less, but certainly for a moment I would wonder what I did wrong on the piece to make the person want to trade it away.

Again, there’s really nothing I’d be able to say against it, but I wouldn’t like having a piece I swapped sold for money. It would certainly make me think twice about entering swaps anymore.

I’m with you on this one, Hannah. It’s a sensitive subject, to be sure.

Sure, as it’s been said, no matter if it’s an ebay piece, production, or swap, it’s yours to do with as you wish.

Looking at it the other way, if someone wants the piece I painted more than the person I painted it for, then it’s going to a good home where it will be more loved.

                Just my thoughts.

This is a difficult subject. On the one hand once its swapped the piece becomes the other person’s property. To do with as they wish.

On the other hand, like you Hannah…I would be a little upset if someone sold a swap piece I painted for them. Nothing I could do about it because again it’s the other person’s property, but I wouldn’t be thrilled either. I’d also wonder if something I’d done made them not like it. I feel similarly about trading. But if people need space or are crunched one way or another I’m not going to begrudge them. Life happens. And maybe the person who bought or traded for the piece you painted will love it more and give it a new happy home.

I guess if someone regularly joined the swap just to get pieces to sell for profit that would really inhibit my willingness to join. Because I’d feel like I was being taken advantage of as an artist. But I really don’t think that’s a problem we need to worry about (thankfully!). The people who join the swaps are joining for the fun of it. 🙂 It’s a really nice community activity and its exciting to see what everyone comes up with.

When I click on the ‘Shop’ and pick ‘eBay Auctions’ from the drop down list it doesn’t open in a new tab. It navigates away from Windstone Editions and straight to Windstone’s eBay auctions. It would be nice if it opened in a new tab again.

Here’s my latest PYO project. She was a commission of a paint scheme I’ve already done but with a few changes. Dark bronze instead of gold, mane/tail accents light gold instead of silver, different spot pattern, different eye color (dark green) and different crystals (smoked topaz).

Well, I’ll take a stab at a wishlist. It’ll be a little difficult because usually I don’t know what I want until I see it. -laughs-

Mm, I like a lot of different things but I try to only get one copy of each production sculpt I like (GBs don’t count towards this policy).
I have a Male Dragon, Mother Dragon, Lap Dragon, Emperor, Old Warrior, Flion, Baby Dragon, Scratching Dragon, Male Unicorn, Good Cat votive holder (green eyes). So they’re not on my wishlist unless they have a mind blowing paint scheme.

I adore feline color schemes, especially wild cats (though domestics are great too). Fantasy colors are big for me, particularly bright colors that work well together. There’s a subtle line between garish and ‘WOW!’ for me. -laughs- Mixes of natural colors with bright fantasy colors on the same sculpt are a draw for me. It just depends. I’m usually not a fan of horse patterns on production sculpts. They’re beautiful, but for some reason I find them just a bit boring. I’m also usually not a fan of pastel color schemes, regardless of whether they are fantasy or natural colors.

Sculpts I would like to get one day:
                          Oriental Moon Dragon
                          Young Dragon (Fire Berry preferentially)
                          Large Bird-Winged Flip Flap Cat
                          Large Bird-Winged Flap Cat
                          Poad (Baby, Young, Adult)
                          Puffin
                          Tiger
                          Cat Wizard (Autumn colors)
                          Wizard Cat Candle Lamp
                          Bird-Winged Flap Cat
                          Leaf Cat Sconce
                          Feline GBs
                          Winged Cat Sconce
                          Fledgling Dragon
                          Rising Spectral Dragon
Secret Keeper (possibly brown because I love that violet streak with the browns on her!)

I’d love to get at least one of these sculpts in a wild cat pattern with metallic green eyes in the future. And well, I guess that’s about it for now! 🙂

Oooh, that rising spectral is giving me fever! I’m always a sucker for spectrals, and that mysterious midnight blue of cosmic shift suits it perfectly. Holding out for the cedar wood emperor is getting harder. 😛

The rising spectral IS gorgeous! That dark blue coupled with the little silver speckles. Wow…. They look like stars in a clear night sky. -sighs- I agree, it’s getting hard to hold out for my grail piece. 🙂 It’s not the Emp you’re holding out for though, just to reassure! 😉

My first heck yah post!!! Here it is… Got a really great price on a gorgeous Rainbow Male dragon from EBay!! Got him home and he is gorgeous and in every bit as good of condition as he looked in the pictures!! *Happy Dance* Thanks for the heads up Angelika-Zen. My son will be getting him in his Easter basket.

Congrats Mimi! That’s always a great feeling. VICTORY! 🙂

The color shift cougars really hit me because I don’t have a lot in terms of fluid funds. And I’m waiting for a particular piece to show up on eBay so I’m being particularly strict now. Not even trying tentative bids.

Congrats on the new job! The new stuff is always scarey. But things will settle into comfortable patterns, never fear!
