**Sorry to add on to the wrong topic**
Actually, that is kinda what started this whole GB craze. A few years ago, Melody had a cart of baby unicorn castings that *I think* she had painted white, but then they failed inpection. So she painted each one a different color and sold them as a “Goof-up” Grab Bag Edition. If I remember correctly, the folks at the factory didn’t think they would be very popular at all…and look what happened! The description told you that they weren’t perfect, with various things wrong with them, I didn’t care, I snatched one right up and still have him today! (He’s basically a white baby unicorn with a couple of tan patches on him, MUCH different than today’s GBs!)
My point is, I think the solution to selling the imperfect ones is to mark them as “goof-up with various defects” and don’t worry about documenting EVERY SINGLE flaw. The majority of us that buy goof-ups are not picky about their flaws anyway. It’s been done in the past with a great response! 🙂Also, with the grab bag pebble wolves it was stated that they all had some kind of flaw and they were Extremely popular and are still highly sought after. Although I must add that I’ve never been able to detect just what flaw my cute little guy has! lol
And to keep with the topic of this thread….I’m okay with the auctioning of a few unicorns. If the price of grab bags in general went up then there’s no way I could afford to keep buying them, so I’m in favor of whatever it takes to prevent that from happening. As a bonus, if the auction thing does happen it will mean the rest of the batch won’t go into the store for a couple weeks longer and it gives people more time to scrape pennies together to get one! 🙂
Just a thought to raise a little extra money. On facebook there was photos of the factory. And there was some already painted stuff there that was damaged in some way so that it wasn’t going to be sold. It looked like a shelf of ebay or GB things(a lot of poads). In the comments everyone was writing that they would buy them anyway. And people buy the copper ones knowing that they are damaged. So why not make an area like the special items area and sell them. You would get them out of there and make some money.
I am in total agreement with this! Have a special section for “lightly damaged or flawed” items with prices set a bit lower than if they went in the store or ebay. I’d definitely buy some of those! 🙂

Yes I did and same with the chestnut pair. I think the baby is actually a dark palomino, but they look great together! 🙂

Will you be selling this guy or was he a commission piece? I’d love one like him! 🙂

I just saw a black/white zebra Poad in the facebook pics and now I want it even though I don’t collect Poads! Why don’t I have unlimited monies?!?!? Whaaaa!!!!
I’m happy to have been able to help you acquire one of those adorable babies 🙂 Hope the rest of your Christmas was as wonderful as opening that crazy wild baby your kids gave you!! lol
Christmas is just about over and it’s time to show off my babies I got from this grab bag batch through trades and gifts. I was so sad I couldn’t catch one this time around 🙁 but…..looking at these I have now, wow! Each and everyone is unique and special…. So…..thank you everyone who helped me get my babies! And thank you windstone!
Took new pics of my baby and an updated wish list. Her eyes are a minty green and she has an amethyst gem. It’s hard to tell from the pics, but the stripes toward her muzzle are purple and she has pretty gold hooves! The babies I want most are the ones that appear to be more natural colored. I have my top pics circled in the class photo, but I will consider any trade offers.
Peppermint Curlies for the Christmas holidays!!!!!! 😀
Even though I’m not a big fan of the curlies I would LOVE to have one painted like a peppermint! 😀
It’s been a long time. Don’t remember how to post images. Tried posting in the classified section as well. Selling mine but can’t load images.
