I guess I was thinking it wouldn’t be a book of the prints…but more a book of all the sculptures. They really catch the eye and I have no doubt every one of my visitors would pour over the book every time I have them over for dinner!! 🙂

Does anyone know how many Violet Flames have made an appearance on eBay from Windstone? I know there’s one up now, just can’t remember if there were more before that. I know there was a regular Flame series… Also, Arlla, I think you track the average price of items that sell…what was the average price of the regular Flame OWs?

Wonder if anyone has ever asked this…but have you ever thought of producing one of those coffee table photography books of all your art? There are so many original pieces that have been sold, are still on the back shelves of the factory (paint tests?) and are still being produced, that I have no doubt you could put together a quality book and sell it for about $60 apiece. The old Windstone booklets were really cool and something along those lines on a larger scale would really sell like hotcakes. Especially for those who want to own, but can’t afford some of the larger pieces (all the OWs, Secret Keepers, etc). Plus, it’s a great way to display your one-of-a-kind sculptures that will never be sold. I know a lot of artists have had success with this type of endeavor and it also works as advertisement for the Windstone name. Anyway, just a thought. 😉

Nirvanacat is right…if you send it to the address on the very first post of this string, you will get a ‘Done’ reply. 🙂 I just got added Friday, so it still works!

No problem drag0nfeathers…I just wanted to give credit where credit was CERTAINLY due! 🙂 Those pictures are great, but nothing compared to the real thing. Thanks again…she is by far one of my favorite Windstones already. Good luck with the rest of your commissions and keep in mind that I may come knocking again!!! 😈

All…just thought I would let you all know that I commissioned a PYO ki-rin from drag0nfeathers and received it yesterday. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! I can’t tell you how neat this little guy turned out! Worth FAR more than I paid…highly recommend her to anyone looking for an awesome paint job. I don’t have an album in the gallery or a photobucket account, so it’s hard to post a photo here.

drag0nfeathers…will you post in your gallery so I can link to it?? You did a fabulous job…EXACTLY what I wanted, thank you, thank you again!! 😀

Ok, great! Thanks for the info. Just couldn’t find it. 🙂 I was looking under anything that said ‘cat’.

Hi Melody…just curious about a piece. I bought a Windstone figurine today that I’ve never seen before anywhere. It has the Windstone felt and the Pena tag, but even Astral Castle doesn’t list it. It’s a cat playing in a sack with just the tail and rear end visible out the back and a hint of a couple claws coming through in the front. Is it authentic? If so, when was it made? Thanks for the insight! (Or to anyone else who reads this and knows for sure)

in reply to: What color Griffin family should be released first?? #512839

I agree with ladybrooklyn…I just got rid of all my male griffins (not a huge fan compared to other pieces), but I’m really looking forward to the mother and chicks. Not sure, but sometimes the male versions just aren’t as nice. I even think the PYO griffins are a whole lot nicer. (Don’t everyone kill me at once, I KNOW there are a lot of male griffin fans out there!!! 🙂

in reply to: I was so excited about my #512922

Goodness! I thought I spent a lot on Windstones! Nothing compared to a couple of you….my grand total is just under $5,000. Some I have sold, but I always buy more in their place. Now that I think about it, I should seriously consider the extra insurance clause just for my Windstones! 😯 Does anyone else have insurance for their Windstone collection? I know we discussed it on another thread and I have USAA, so maybe it’s something to look into.

Thanks for the head’s up Ski! Looks like you may be raising cash and making space for other items just like me. 🙂 Hilarious how all of us Windstone lovers continue to barter, sell, and trade to get the perfect collection tailored just for us. I’m sure Melody loves it when forum members sell items…she must know proceeds are just going right back into another Windstone purchase!! 😈

Me, too. Oh wait! I’m already using your PYO skills. Hee, hee! 🙂

Quill…I just love that little fawn at the end of your signature. How cute!! How did you get him there? Do you have the little icon file or is he online somewhere?

in reply to: Why collect Windstone? #510613

I collect Windstones for many of the reasons already listed. Whippetluv says it best…this is the closest thing you’ll ever get to a life-like dragon. Especially ones I envision while reading any sci-fi or fantasy novel. For the true fan of the non-reality, this is key. I’ve loved dragons ever since I was little and there was (and is) nothing more than I like better than dragons and horses. Out of all the collectibles available in the dragon category, Melody’s are the only ones with beauty, quality and just that special aspect that makes them irresistible. Not to mention, they’re amazing pieces anyone would be proud to have on their shelf for all to see. She just has the artist’s touch to bring all of our imaginations to life. So yes, the ability to represent someone’s personal vision in a physical piece is absolutely priceless and NONE of my paychecks are safe. 😉
