Just because they are made of plastic or resin doesn’t mean they can’t be artistic and beautiful tho. I, for one, adore my huge McFarlane hydra. They did a great job on it. Windstone and Melody make some beautiful dragons but them trying to make something like this in gypsum is my ultimate shipping nightmare due to the logistical hurdles they’d have to try to overcome.
Flea market is currently empty. Sorry!
December 30, 2023 at 9:46 pm in reply to: Windstone Appraisals (What is my Windstone worth?) #1679488I am currently working on setting up a database for determining estimated values. Sorry to say I had to revamp the setup a couple times now. I’m hoping now with holidays past tho I can finish fine tuning it, then I will be reaching out for some data. Only a couple people maybe to start, then more for just 1 sculpt type. Probably will start with bantams first to see if that is working right (I am using that sculpt to figure this out because doing calculations on just 1 piece is pretty useless and I have mostly bantams), then expand to the other sculpts. Once it looks like it is in working order, I will open it up as a voluntary information submittal and can post results here and rlsewhere for trends, averages, and ranges (I hope). Bear with me guys, this is not my forte!
I’m very sorry for youf loss.

February 13, 2023 at 9:58 pm in reply to: What’s your grail piece(s)? 2 (Also awesome news inside) #1668470I’m looking mainly for KS bantams 171 or 172, 151, 1, 19, 121, or like the autumn harvest or certain other test paints (I have the moonstone but not the orange opposite), or of course most of the lightning/tiger ones or patterned ones.
I’ve a rainbow qilin I’d be willing to trade for the above bantams. However I’m in no rush for this as I like her a lot too, and I’m content keeping her.
December 28, 2022 at 3:51 pm in reply to: How’s everybody doing with this weather? Dec 23 2022 #1666749I have to second Dragonmedley here, being near Chicago. We get usually plenty of snow and ice cold, luckily not much snow yet so I’m loving it because this new house we have to shovel (previous was a condo where that was done by the association). Exposed pipes of any kind are high chance of rupture here, you even have to cover your spigots on the house for winter to save them from freezing and bursting in your walls. My dad was worried about exposed pipes like in those pics so he literally took some exterior paint and particle board for resurfacing a house and made an insulated box over it (flat styrofoam pieces coated the inside). For our new home, I used expanding foam and was caulking every spot I could find on the outside of this house until it was too dark to see right up until the weather hit the teens and only stopped because the caulk might not set in the cold. We might warm up a bit this weekend and that means we get some extra backout curtains and rods for over the doors because they have the biggest drafts (and the cold found 2 small gaps in the front door seal so I can fill those too). Asthetics are the least of our concerns if the heating bill is $200/mo or more and this isn’t a big place. If you can pay for the gas to heat you, you’re fine out here, and it’s pretty expensive this year. Enough so that next year we’ll convert our fireplace from gas to wood in the off season to prep for the next winter. I feel bad for those who have a harder time covering it–the state won’t let gas be cut off but there can be a lien on you or debt collectors coming for it.
Any insulation is good for pipes, the ideal is the more the better, lol! Foam is very good btw. You can make a wood box to cover that after it’s fixed, add a hinged door and some paint and that’ll hide utilities nicely while keeping it (hopefully safer) from harm.
Any holiday songs by Straight No Chaser. Gives you a good laugh. Especially “The Christmas Can-Can”!
I also have a handful of assorted pretty clean gen 3 My Little Ponys if someone’s interested. Can ship stuff together with SilkyPup or however you like. Throw me an offer.
Vintage Lady Lovely Locks SilkyPup and Pixietails Hair Clip! Puppy is in pretty good condition, maybe a couple smudges on her if I missed a spot. Clip is undamaged. Gave both a general cleaning of handsoap and hair conditioner to keep the hair silky. Aired out thoroughly, the head detatches so no mold inside. Collar and leash are in great shape too. I did toss the rubberbands holding the braids because they were dead. It was secondhand but I’m a smokefree cat friendly home.
Looking for $20 plus shipping (can likely fit in a small flatrate box). Or if you want to trade something, I’m listening. Can put more pics here if anyone interested.
October 21, 2022 at 10:43 pm in reply to: What’s your grail piece(s)? 2 (Also awesome news inside) #1663910Just a warning, I read the description of the rainbow lichen grabbag young uni and the seller admits she altered it by repainting the mane. So it is not mint or original anymore. Just a head’s up.
I don’t see a choice lotto working any better than the blind grab bag. More than one person wanting the same sculpt is the big issue. Just look at how the KS bantams had varying numbers liking the same thing and some not being liked at all. If your first choice is gone, just like with the qi lin grab bag, people will be trying to trade for their #1 favorite.
I don’t think a lotto will prevent trading in the least because there’s always a #1 that’s different for everyone, you’d have to do custom paintjobs on each to resolve that. Or a uniform sculpt offer like the desert opal cats will reduce it. I worry that trying to match all the babies will essentially have Melody doing custom job work anyway. There doesn’t seem to be any actual solution to make everyone happy. In which case I suggest just paint what you feel like, Melody, go at it like this last grab bag, and let us fans sort ourselves out.
We are all supposed to be reasonable adults. Buy at the risk of getting not your favorite or what you want, or else don’t buy at all! You know what you’re getting into. There will always be someone else who likes it, if not now maybe later, but if that’s a lot of money to risk blindly then wait to buy it secondhand from someone else when you know what you’re getting. The markup is the cost of taking the plunge. Same with shipping. Same is the possibility your #1 will not be possible regardless what you do. You weigh what you’re willing to risk and how much that piece means to you financially. Also weigh if you can emotionally handle it if it doesn’t go the way you want it! We just need to be responsible for our decisions because in the end it boils down to WE chose to chance on a random result. Windstone and Melody try hard to please because they’re absolute sweethearts but any results are the consequences of us choosing to participate and it’s not their responsibility to make us happy if it doesn’t fall in our favor. That’s handmade art for you. If you want certainties, I suggest Wayfair decor, lol.
