I wish Windstone would bring out the small flap cats in this color. I have only so much room for the large flap cats and I have four already.

Melody is probably seeing qi-lins in her dreams! Although there are worse things to see in your dreams than adorable little qi-lin frowny faces. 🙂

Melody says, “Throwback Thursday. ( Is it Thursday already?) I’ve posted pics of this guy before. but many haven’t seen him. This is probably the rarest Windstone we’ve ever sold. We sold exactly ONE of these from a store in the very early days of Windstone and then decided not to make more, because it didn’t fit our ‘look’. I was very concerned about having a distinctive style for our line of pieces in the stores so they stood out among all the figurines being made by other companies at the time. He is a Netsuki style baboon.”
Wanting to have a distinct look makes sense from a business perspective, but as a netsuke lover I would have really enjoyed getting items like this.

Nightcrow, I sympathize. I did manage to get the curlie, but I really wanted the bantam and the oriental dragon. I knew they would get way too expensive, however, so I resisted the temptation, barely.

Mine arrived and I think he is #177 on the numbered pictures Courtney provided. I took some pictures, but I’ve had a lot of difficulty uploading them in the past. Scales are color-shift red-blue, fur and the rest of the body is green, maybe with a little gold mixed in the fur, but primarily green. Blue eyes, gold horns, whiskers, hooves and the little sort of chin-strap they have. He wasn’t on my list of faves — I wanted the blue and white ones — but he is so pretty I think I will keep him. I was concerned about the darker colors. The faces are so cute and I was afraid you wouldn’t see that well with dark colors, but I can see all the detail in his just fine.

I never got confirmation from Windstone that my purchase went through, but PayPal now tells me mine has shipped. I’m still keeping my fingers crossed. There are a lot in the pictures that I like, but if I don’t love the one I get, I will put it up for trade or sale.

I received the email around 6:21 pm eastern time yesterday (totally unexpected since it was a holiday!). It looked like the usual email to me. Did you check your spam folder?

I love all blue ones, especially the blue and white or blue and purple on the first page. Very pretty!

It didn’t help that this was an entirely new sculpt. It might have worked better if a production color of the sculpt had been offered first, then later a grab bag. People who just wanted to have one of the sculpt might have been satisfied. I have never had such a hard time getting through as I did for this, and I still don’t have confirmation from Windstone that I actually got one, only a payment receipt from PayPal.
Same here, but I can see the invoice in my account on the Windstone page, so I’m hoping it’s all good.
Now I’m worried, as mine is not showing up in my account. I emailed Susie, but I’m sure she is VERY busy today.
