I always thought the orange eyes were mistakes, too, until I read Susie’s post in a thread earlier this year.

And as has been said, maybe we can’t know all dragons were done with orange eyes and jonquil jewels, but from seeing them from time to time, I can tell you that the Emperor, Male, Mother, Young and Hatchling have all been done with the orange/jonquil combo. If there are others, I’ve never seen them.
I’m pretty sure that the one in Sudbury (I saw the ad as well) had orange eyes. That was quite a bargain, congrats! And if you want to invest a little more, I’m sure that Kyrin or drag0nfeathers can fix up those little dings so it looks good as new. Or if you want to stay in Ontario, you might ask dragonmedley, she did a great job paint-matching an emerald for me a while back…
As for eye/jewel color, the standard color for all emeralds is red eyes/red jewels. Non standard and rarer are the orange eyes/clear jewels combo, this was done by mistake but no one know exactly how many made it out of the factory like this.
My personal preference goes to the orange eyes/clear jewel.
I just got mine and I love them both but Alyssa is upset that she didn’t get a blue one :(. I guess I won’t be buying anymore grab bags for her until she’s older and understands the notion of grab bags. Anyway here are the two I got. The darker one is Alyssa’s so if anyone gets a blue dragon and would like to trade for him let me know……

I love Alyssa’s dragon! If I could be sure to get a blue one I’d be sorely tempted. And I love the fact that it has teal claws and horns!
Here are the guys that I got today 🙂 I like both of them, but I would still rather have a natural colored fellow, so they will be up for trade!
That one is awesome! I would have a lot of trouble if I had to choose a favourite between this guy and Alyssa’s!
I’ve been having fun with my “catch and release” Valentine eggs program! LOL!
But I’d really like to see what the flowers look like in a chosen pot before I send them…
I also got my favourite! Second picture from the bottom in Kiya’s post… Yay!

What I would suggest would be to find a cheap white Young Uni to recover the horn and ship the lot to Kyrin for repair. I’m sure she can take out whatever part of the pewter horn is left in the Uni’s head and resculpt/repaint whatever needs to be before setting the new horn.
