Rod is trying to portray me as an unfit parent… *AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*

Unfortunately, this is what some guys do–it happened to a friend of mine years back when her husband divorced her. What has been said is right–judges seen and heard it all. They see through the crap and if your boyohs were asked their opinion, which they might since they’re old enough, a whole different picture will be painted. Instead of being concerned about the welfare of your boys, he seems to be more intent of trashing you. WTF??!! You have us here supporting you and sending positive thoughts. This too will end.
Sometimes, when things are going badly for us, we need a break from the familiar. I know I’ve done this–felt that I’m so done with everything and everyone that I want to run and hide. You may need a break from the forum. From what I’ve seen about what is going on with you, it might help to clear the air. Things will hopefully settle down and you can think again instead of worrying about things, pets and having a bunch of other negative stuff heaped on you. Take care and we’ll all still be here waiting for you.
My turn to scream a little bit–first I want to send hugs and positive to TDM. Sorry about your dad and all the things you are currently going through–care to scream with me?
Right now I’m just frustrated and tired of everything. I’m tired of studying, doing homework and all the freaking hoops I have to jump just to try and get this certificate so I can hopefully become employed. Being unemployed for the past couple of years has taken a financial toll on me and if I can’t find work by the end of this year I may have to consider early retirement. Don’t want to do that because it will be at a cut rate. I may have to sell out and move. Not quite ready to do that. I’m just tired of everything–just couldn’t bring myself to do homework today–tired of the 7 day grind.
I wish I had the luxury of extending these classes for another year but I don’t. It would have been a lot easier on me. Just don’t have any time to think. I’ve had it! I’m hoping that all this will be worth it in the end!
Sending warm and positive thoughts for you and your kitty. How heartbreaking! It’s so hard when they are sick and you want them to recover and then there is the expenses. How can you just give up? You can’t. I hope Ajani pulls through and beats the odds.
If this fledge ends up going for the original sale price, or more, I will sweeten it by doing a digital sketch of whatever you’d like (within reason!) for the buyer!
Sweet deal, Jennifer–but still couldn’t swing it right now. $450 could pay a lot of bills right now–if I could do it, I’d have you do a digital sketch of my departed dog. Oh well, maybe in another life…
Lovely little fledgling and Jennifer’s work is awesome. Just can’t do it right now–oh to be employed and have money again!
February 26, 2012 at 4:32 pm in reply to: February 2012 Grab Bag Young Poads–post their arrivals! #874828Personally, I wouldn’t mind having another one. So I’ll be looking for someone who doesn’t care for theirs and wants to sell. I love mine and wouldn’t want to trade her!
I have a house full of birds! Parakeets, conures, cockatiels and an eclectus, which is my largest bird. I don’t know your living situation but the noise factor has to be considered. If you live in an apartment a parakeet or that cockatiel would be good. Cockatiels are wonderful companion birds and they love to interact with their owners. Parakeets are sweet as well and I’ve know people who ‘wear’ them around the house while they’re going about their business. On a larger scale, an eclectus is nice because they love to hang out but don’t need for you to constantly hold them–like a cockatoo would. Cockatoos are very, very loud, by-the-way and unfortunately end up in rescue groups in large numbers because of it.
That’s good that you’re doing your homework because depending on the type of bird you eventually get, they can be a 20+ year commitment. The average life span of a parakeet could be up to 12 years, cockatiels could live to 25 and my eclectus could live to 30 years. Keep that in mind when you’re looking.
If you live in a place where noise wouldn’t be bothering neighbors, I have a blue crown conure who is absolutely delightful! They’re a little larger than a cockatiel and I find mine just loves to come out and nibble on my cheek. I also have a green-cheeked conure who will just stay on my shoulder and go down my back and around my stomach and back up to my chest. Nibbling and pooping as she goes along.
I love my birds, but they are a commitment and a lot of work. You’ll never have a spotless house again–sweep up the food and they seem to think that’s their cue to scatter more on the floor–it’s their way of saying un, you missed a spot!
Happy bird hunting–there are a lot of wonderful birds out there who would make marvelous companions!

February 26, 2012 at 12:21 am in reply to: February 2012 Grab Bag Young Poads–post their arrivals! #874792HOW DO I POST IMAGES ON HERE? Never posted images on the new forum and I can’t get them to work. I have mine and would love to show her, but I can’t seem to get the images to post!!!! ARRRRRH!
EDIT–Nevermind–I thinks I gots it.
I’m looking at the store page and can’t decide whether to buy or not.
I don’t collect poads, but I know that there are some rabid poad collectors here who might be happy to trade other Windstones for more GB poads, so I’m considering buying one for trading purposes. Plus, they are pretty neat. 🙂
I guess I’m trying to gauge interest to see if I should get one.
Depends on the sculpts and colors you are looking for.
Another vote for natural bird Poads.
There are a lot of detail on these–$115 is fair. Can’t complain because she squeeked for them!
Yeah, I think the poad police will be after me…
Yeah, punishment by cutness!
I would certainly go for a second one when Susie gives the okay. I’m guessing if they’re still in the store tomorrow, everyone who wanted one has got one. If anyone ordered two by mistake, I’m sure Susie would readjust–I would want her to do that to me if I thought the limit was 2 instead of 1.
