And the Eagle Gryphon… very nice! 😀 I think the lion half might be a bit stark… but it looks good with the white head and redish upper body. 😀

Same here… plans with my Boyfriend’s family fell through.. so we stayed home (my parents had already made plans and we decided not to intrude)…

It was ODD not having turkey today.. 😯 very odd….

And… the Ki-Rin!! 😀 He’s gonna be hard to give up methinks… I really like how he turned out…

What you really can’t tell… is just how the light plays with the interference colors on the Ki-Rin… the red scales shine green… and the white scales shine purple/red… and the gold on the neck and belly scales… Stupid camera. 😛 I’ll try to get better pics tomorrow… cause these pics REALLY don’t do him justice!!

I can’t WAIT to get my hands on more of these! They were so much fun… a GREAT release. I can’t wait till the Wolves arrive on Monday or Tuesday…

Only thing… I’m SO used to spraying my horses with Dullcote… to give them a nice flat finish… I just can’t decide if I should do that to these guys.. and then gloss things like beaks, claws etc… or leave them the semi-gloss finish which is similar to a Windstone finish… Hum….

😆 and see… this is why I love this little donkey. Wherever I go with them… to model horse shows and the like… I ALWAYS get an “AWwwwwwww!” or a laugh. ^.^ That is why I cart them around! 😀

Actually… first thing I thought when I saw the first pic… it looks like if you stuck him under a black light he’d glow! 😀 too cool!!!

I say go with it… just keep working on him… he’ll tell you what to do and how to finish him… I know he’ll look great in the end!

Trust me… it happens all the time! I get a thought in my head of how I want to paint something… by the time I’m done… that horse, dragon etc… had a different idea and so it looks TOTALLY different than the original idea… and yet still awesome! 😀

I can’t wait to see him finished!

😆 yes it is… but as the character Donkey from Shrek. He has a very distinctive look to him… 😀

For instance… if I was to customize Brighty into Donkey… he’d more than likely be grinning… rather than just sitting there quietly…

Yeah… that will be finished off tonight. 😀 her scales are still the white primer…

Now… you know… that IS something I’ve been wondering… what gender is the Ki-Rin? Young Male?

I wonder because the original female Ki-Rin has such a slick head… no evidense of a *mane* at all… whereas the male has a very fluffy *mane* around his neck…

I haven’t read anywhere what gender it is… it could be somewhere… 😆

As far as the gryphon’s white patch on the belly goes… I kinda liked it being that small… it was originally smaller… but it kept growing…

Do you really think I should make it bigger?

I added the ivory color to her belly.. and blended it all in with pastels… I think only minor details remain… and maybe another layer of pastels on the banded part of the wings. 😀

And then here are the first pics of my PYO Ki-Rin! Eventually I’ll go over her scales with pearl… and that interference redish color.. just a wash of it… to accentuate the scales. Then I’ll pick out a scale here or there and paint it solidly in that interference color. 😀 She’s gonna look so cool!!
