Well… if I ever stopped and CALCULATED what I’ve actually spent on my model horse collection… I’d probably have a heart attack. I mean I’m getting into the “artist resin” models that are upwards of $200 for a BLANK body…

Then… if I calculated how much it’s vaguely worth… I ‘d have a coronary… cause painting those bodies up… ups their worth…

My friend and I were driving to a show last year… and she had to slam on the brakes. My arms went back to our tubs of horses to hold them back. As we continued we laughed, and she said “Imagine… just how much money is crammed into my back seat?” It was just a fraction of her and my collection… and it was easily $2500…. of course that was horses, tack (Custom made TINY saddles and such) etc… but still.

I haven’t invested that much in windstones as of now… but I could see it and my model horses easily competing… 😆

It’s all for the joy of adding a new face to the collection! 😀

Well… Sting came from ebay… Arwen’s sword from a local knife shop (don’t think my boyfriend asked for it to be sharpened…) and Eowyn’s sword came from ebay too…

The horse dagger I got on the way to our Renaissance festival… on the side of the road… and Balian’s sword came from Museum Replicas… not sharpened. 😀

I guess it all depends on where it comes from. 😀

As far as sharpening the blades goes… they all CAME that way! 😯 I didn’t ask for any of them to be sharpened… because you’re right… I’m so clumpsy if there wasn’t a table in front of them… I’d knock into them and cut an appendage off… 😆

For some reason it’s Sting I worry about… it’s so light… and that tip is sooo sharp… 😆 I feel like if I look at it wrong its gonna stab me! 😀

Well… yes and no…

There’s a certain way I know how to blend the coats for horses… a certain way they color… a certain way the hair grows…. it’s totally different across species…

IE: I know how to paint a grey horse… But Grey on a wolf can be entirely different. ^.^

I guess blending is the same… but the knowledge of how different animals’ colors are composed the way they are is what’s different. ^.^

Interesting idea…

You could also have it be a “scene” of some sort… show off your PYO in a holiday scene… or fantasy… or just realistic… there could be more than one category for the photos….

We do something kinda like this in the Model Horse Hobby… it’s called “photo showing”. There are placings… and different “classes” that you can enter. Generally Breed classes for the horses… but these could be more themed categories. 😀

Just heavy duty nails… 3 nails below it… and one slightly curved around that protrusion near the hilt. 😀

Arwen’s sword came with a stand… Unlike Sting and Eowyn’s sword have the plaques. I don’t have a mantle to put it on… 😛 So… yeah… had to figure out something. 😀
