Announcing things on the forum: We don’t announce things on the forum because then forum members keep refreshing to see if the announcement has appeared, and this slows down our website. Using an emailed announcement system keeps that traffic off of our website (you get to refresh your email over and over!).
I’ve seen several announcements made on the forum…?
That’s a good question Ferlin1984. We haven’t been able to know exactly when an announcement email would be received (with the old system it could have been as much as 2 hours in advance) – and we probably still will not know exactly when that will happen with what we are going to try now, but our intention is to have the email go out announcing the time that the item will go into the store, giving you enough time to make arrangements to be at a computer. The timing will probably vary from item to item (items that we do not expect to sell out quickly will not require a lot of lead time).
As usual, we will need people to refrain from refreshing a whole bunch right before the time the item goes into the store – or the site slows down so much we cannot put it in! For this reason we do not allow the use of auto-refreshing scripts on our website.
OK. Thanks for getting back to me. I guess it is sort of hit and miss, when I got a store announcement it was always between 2-3 hours before the actual release but I have never done a restock notice before.
The way it worked before the problems started rolling in, the store announcement was a couple hours or so before, telling when to expect new items… but with a restock notice, it’s when it happens.. trickier for sure!
Susie, is it possible you could post a store announcement style notice a couple hours ahead here on the forum? Give those of us who can check in on the forum every now and again a bit of a heads up?
question that popped into my head last night, how are the short haired PYO flapcats going? nearly ready or still a long way off?
I’ve got a desk full of unfinished pieces.
The sitting foxes, the pyo O. dragons and short haired F.cat, raccoon dog, pyo snerl,and a few others.
I have just about finished the gb wolves, ivory wolves, red foxes, ivory foxes and some odd-ball red foxes.
Odd-ball red foxes are ones that got goofed up. Kinda like a gb edition, but mostly red and black colors -and a few with grey.
I’ll get back to finishing sculpture soon.The about-to-release list keeps getting longer! lol.. I’m in trouble XD I for one will be absolutely fine if it takes to next week for them to release… I’m really hoping my finances can catch up a bit! heh…
Mel…. if you decide to do rainbow sparkle wolves as a production line, and rainbow sparkle red foxes and bat eared foxes.. I would be extremely happy! I am drooling over the wolf on ebay! I REALLY like the rainbow sparkle more than the ivory! (I lean toward dark colors more often)
I would if we could get the paint! Right now we’ve only got enough to make an occasional ebay piece.
This makes me a sad cookie, the paint hard to find? or just something that wasn’t put on the restock supply list? – I would think Windstone would be ‘game on’ with an easy to paint production piece, and given I think a lot of people would happily take one in each pebble, lol, I would think it would be an investment worth making, if the paint is available.. – Just my .02 anyway
I got the restock notice for the Blue Morpho Mother Dragons… I also get PM notices, so I’m thinking that’s less the system and moreso email accounts filtering ‘junk’ mail… I often open my PM notices as it has a link that opens a window directly to the pm, so my email hasn’t figured they’re junk… I also get all my Windstone stuff emailed to my phones email (partially why I take advantage of the direct link) so my phone notifies me of messages every 15mins (or every hour when I’m not waiting on a release)

After the wolves I’m likely taking a break from GB’s… I’ve hit full gb burn out, so I would personally love to see Mel spend some time sculpting (I very much so look forward to the PYO oriental dragon!) And to see more production pieces… I would love and adore more CP V2 Male Griffs (kick myself for missing those! The V2 is so pretty with it’s darker antique!), looking forward to the Gothics and Mt Lions! and generally excited to know what I’m getting and not needing to fret over trading, not to mention saving money from shipping trades!
But that’s me… and I’m probably on a completely different page than others, lol

Also, does it make me crazy that I adore the keepers tiny pebbly scales? Lol (Minus the base coat painting…. when I’m trying to turn an all white dragon solid black… thise darn scales drive me batty! Lmao)

Lol, guess we were on the same page! I resubscribed, but I did not get that message… same email I always got the notices to before.. (watch, once they’re working again, I’ll get two emails lol)

She was a LOT of fun to paint and I am so happy her new owner loves her! <3 My model certainly is an adorable baby! I can't wait to paint another Kitsune! The sculpt is just so fun to paint! – I also did get some other photos, though I need to go find the memory card they're on XD "cleaned" the house the other day, not entirely sure where I put some things lol!
