What a lovely dog 🙂 Great photographs, too… did you take them?
Thank you! Yes they’re photos I took 🙂 the one looking up the tree was a couple weeks ago, she was on squirrel watch 🙂
The other is when she was under a yr, but has remained my fave photo of her, perfectly captures her personality 🙂He’s a lovely green (green to blue-green are my favs), but I think the gold pawpads are just an adorable accent!
Thanks! I tried to get the photos as close to true color as I could, I think he has a softer look to him in person though, not so sharp between the tones… if that at all makes sense! Lol.
I’m so happy people are liking the gold pawpads! I just adore them lol ^.^Oh, he is so handsome! I love that he looks like a red fox, just in green. 🙂
Thank you! I love the red fox markings, so I couldn’t resist sticking more true to the markings, just a spin on the colors! Hehe
Betrluk! I’m so happy you love her! She looks great next to the Cougar! 🙂
And yes! She is so difficult to photograph! I don’t think photo’s will ever truly do her justice 🙂I’m seriously hoping for one that looks like my Kilala. I didn’t really have the spare money to order one, but I couldn’t at least try. Currently my fave is the one on the absolute far left of the store photo, the dark, rich solid brindle, I think that one captures the essence of my one true heart-dog!
May 21, 2015 at 11:49 pm in reply to: Grab Bag Pebble Wolves in the Brindle colors are in the store now! 5-21-15 #929838Rewrite my previous comment. I came back apparently a couple minutes after they had been released for 45 mins, caught one in my cart.. Now to enjoy looking at the class photo’s and see if there is a good enough chance to get one like my Kilala to make the order…
Gorgeous! I love the green!
Thank you! 🙂 I was so happy with how the green turned out on him!
I got to paint something green! lol ;p
I started this lil guy a bit before St Patricks day… alas, my plan to get him done by then obviously did not work out so well… I only recently was able to finish him, as I’ve had a rough couple months and wasn’t much in the mood to paint… Was really nice to get this lil guy back out and finish him up. 🙂 My goodness, I know I said it before, and I know I’ll say it again, but this lil sculpt is so much fun to paint! If you have been thinking of getting one, I highly recommend it! I can’t get enough of them 🙂
His photo’s don’t do him entire justice (Haven’t seen a true sunny day in a while now, as Seattle’s weather seemed to have taken a vacation to Colorado, lol! So I haven’t had the best lighting to photograph him in)
His green’s are just gorgeous, rich in color and just what I was hoping for! (The only true black on him is his nose and the detail on his mouth. The lil dark muzzle stripes, back of ears, legs and whatnot are a really dark green, even in person almost looks black unless you get him in bright daylight) and his creamy colors accent on him so well! I originally planned on more gold on him, but couldn’t bring myself to try it after getting him to this point, I fell far too in love with how he came together, and found the gold paw pads were the perfect accent 🙂This lil guy will be up for sale, but I won’t lie… if no one buys him, I won’t at all be butt hurt if he stays here 😉 hehe.
Also, I need to come up with a name for him.. something handsome!
May 21, 2015 at 5:50 pm in reply to: How to be notified when we stock the "Brindle" Pebble Wolf – Grab Bag #929814I’m excited! Dunno yet if I’ll be able to get one, but I hope so 🙂 I may be too broke though, depends on how much they end up being (Not asking, I know no one knows until they’re posted!) Suppose I better get on my Grab Bag game though and have my phone checking my email often, and peeking in on the site every now and again 🙂
I am just wondering if there will be more merles too? I was hoping for a merle snd brindle batch since a lot of us wanted the merles before. I am not as much into the brindles but they look nice in the picture. Also are there still more to be worked on or are they close to done?
I have finished the brindles. I only have about 24 unpainted wolf castings left.
How many of you guys are want merles? Maybe I should wait until we have more castings so I can do a bigger batch.I highly recommend a bigger batch, merle was the most popular color of the last GB wolves… I’d like one, if I can afford one. I really hope to get a Brindle.. but absolutely unsure if I can if they come out soon…
I know there was another dragon gargoyle out – I used to have one back in the day and gave it to a friend before I got into Windstones who collected dragons. Not sure what it’s title was. It was smaller than the dragon that is available now for sale and was sitting. I think it had open wings.
I’m sure I can come across it for sale used on Ebay sometime or scouting around yet to recollect.Ah, too bad I never got a photo of him, I had this guy a bit over a year ago, I gave him to my brother since he really liked him and I didn’t have the space for all my gargoyles.. my brother got the stone finished wizard as well, I got a great deal, 5 for $100 I think it was, most needed repaired, but I still loved them… I still have the hyena (which is gorgeous in person, I didn’t expect to keep him and fell in love as soon as I saw him!) And I have the big dragon and the uni in stone finish… I have since added the dragon bookends to my stone finished collection, they’re all very lovely 🙂
Keep an eye on ebay, they all tend to show up from time to time 🙂
I found him on Ebay and have put in a bid! I hope I get him!
I have the small panther, pig, critic and dragon bk ends, gargolingus, and hatching garg so far myelf. I just ordered a garg claw candle holder too. I really want a hyena garg next or test paint momma griff.
I was hoping you spotted him! 🙂 He came up in good timing! Lol.
Quite the collection so far! 🙂 I’ve found a sudden fondness to the owl bookends, though I don’t know what I’d do with a second set of bookends (I adore my dragon set) lol… I also really want the small wolf! My mom has the large candlelamp wolf, it’s a truly beautiful piece!
I hope to someday see more test paints on the small gargoyle wolf, the ones I’ve seen from the past are so pretty!I know there was another dragon gargoyle out – I used to have one back in the day and gave it to a friend before I got into Windstones who collected dragons. Is it just me or is anyone else having trouble with everything taking forever to load? The whole site is slower than slow and I keep getting kicked out or I get accessed denied screens… Help please! I’m having Windstone Family withdrawals and it ain’t pretty
Mine has been a back and forth battle.. sometimes it breezes, other times, it reminds of me of the days I had *really bad* dial up…
I also tried to post to this earlier, and I got an error that wasn’t going to let me post… that I was going to screen cap and (try to) post, but my entire system locked up and I had to hard reset my pc…
I’m beginning to think I should just stay off this site until it gets figured out and is solid again = Just *try* to check my messages so I don’t unintentionally ignore anyone who is trying to keep tabs with me/work deals with me…In answer to your question Ferlin, at this time our site doesn’t seem sturdy enough to handle a whole lot of people refreshing all at once when the appointed time of release comes around, so we will most likely announce an item after we have added it to the store. I know its nice to receive an announcement and know when you need to be by a computer, but having it crash is not fun for anyone.
Again, I remind everyone, please do not run any kind of auto-refreshing script on our site to find out when we’ve added a new item. Thank you!
What happened to the site to make it so frail?
Grab Bag Kitsune?????
Unlikely. It’s been discussed in various threads.
From my understanding, there are copyrights for the colour schemes and sculptures. Putting any PYO into production, especially as a grab bag, would cause numerous difficulties for Windstone, not the least of which are unscrupulous people who could try to pass off their own painted sculpt as a grab bag. If you doubt that might occur, take a stroll through the “Report Fakes and Knockoffs” thread.
Melody or John, please advise if I’m right here – the best option would be to paint or commission a PYO in any scheme as long as it isn’t a copy of a Windstone production, test paint, or artist’s edition.
Yanno, I almost said this exact thing and then AWD Kitsunes showed up on Ebay and completely confused me on how the legal side allows those vs production. Though I still highly doubt we’ll see anything other than ebay/etsy… though I think in doing ebay/etsy ones does make it very confusing.. but that’s my .02… I think the AWD Kitsunes are absolutely gorgeous either way 🙂
Also, I have a massive squeak for production jaguars/black jaguars (Do a flat black with the metallic black used on the moonlit sea jewel for the rosetts *fawns*) with the cougar sculpt. I about died when I saw the magic paint cougar and wish dearly that you guys could find more magic paint to make it a production run on all pebbles again… I really want a wolf, red fox and cougar in it! — I’m burned out on GB’s, I really just wanna know what I’m getting and not need to invest in shipping and time and effort in hoping I can get a trade for what I want.. I can’t even imagine how many production pieces I could have bought simply with the cash I’ve spent on shipping GB trades in the past year alone…
March 17, 2015 at 1:11 am in reply to: Anyone Know How Many Buckskin Gothic Unicorns There Were? #926824Good question, I was bummed when I added one into my cart (when there was 1 left) and it got kicked right out and the “all in carts” button remained up… I’ve just been hopeful that there are blue merle gothic uni’s in process (I know Mel mentioned painting merles, I just dunno what kind of merle it is) – I hope when it releases, more Buckskin will be put in, since if I don’t like the merles, I’ll be very happy with a Buckskin
Not to derail the topic but what was everyone’s first Windstone? I admired Melody’s work since maybe 1998 but didn’t buy my first one until 2006. It was 2 green male dragons, a green mother and green baby for $120 with shipping. They’ve all since found new homes but I’ll always remember them :)They were the only ones I could afford at the time.
I was a huge fan when I was a little girl, seeing the black unicorns and peacock dragons in the nice cutlery shop in the malls… I had forever held them in that “Unattainable” category…
My very first Windstone I bought, was about 8 years ago, it was a Peacock Scratcher that was a gift for a guy I was dating at the time.. one of many things I did with some hope that he’d reconsider the fate of our relationship (He was moving to South Carolina, and I wanted to go with him as I thought I was in love (Ah, young and dumb!) He didn’t want me to go) – In hindsight the only thing I wish could have been different, is that I kept the dragon for myself ;p
After that I sort of lost sight of Windstone again for a good long while, somehow still holding Windstones in that unattainable category (I just got so used to the mindset, that I didn’t think it through completely, haha)Then one fateful day I found Mel on DeviantART! I was so beside myself that she was so down to earth, talking to her fans like it was nothing… She, who has remained one of my ultimate favorite artists for most of my life! – In talking about how awesome I thought this was, someone caught on to my love of these pieces, and for Christmas 2011, I got $200 in gift certificates! I swooned over the pieces, so many out of stock! I waited and waited, hoping they’d come back in… No such luck, as I, of course, loved the Grulla Uni’s, Lap Dragons and Scratchers, lol! BUT! There was this release of Candy Corn GBB’s coming out! So exciting, so fun! …. and apparently, when you wait 20 years or so to buy the first Windstone in your collection! Starting it off with an epic GBB batch is how you do it! – and also how my ‘Great Dragon Collection!’ I planned, had rapidly turned into a GB collection with a couple dragons here and there ;p lmao (23 GB’s currently in my collection – 5 production dragons, not including stone finish (Bookends and Guardian Dragon) lol…)
This is my first, and my handsome boy, “Charming” I got him straight from the store, and fell in love as soon as I saw his beautiful color shift coat 🙂
He is one of my *forever* keepers! -
