Sorry, mispost!
October 1, 2013 at 2:53 am in reply to: I changed my forum name, but I'm still the same person. 🙂 #903516Aww, what a lovely tribute to your pet!
*giggles* I don’t think it would go over so well if I tried it though. Should I use “Crankypants” “Braindead” “Thud” or “MegaPregga”?
We have… a lot of animals, and the names can get creative at times. Sometimes a random nickname sticks. Crankypants in the possum, who bites my wife everytime she puts her hand in the cage. (I won’t touch the beast). Braindead is the hamster who fell off a table as a youngster, cracked his skull, stopped his heart, I had to give him a good whack (aka, hamster CPR) to get him to breathe again… then he seizured and he hasn’t been quite right ever since. Thud was the dummy frog who had a great big tank to jump around in, and he always jumped the short way and went “Thud” into the glass. And Mega Pregga, the guinea pig, who consistently delivers six gigantic babies every time. She ends up like a dinner plate unable to walk every time, too.
*grin* *hugs* No problemo, it worked out! I got one!
Actually, when I refreshed, it was still there… I got my receipt for payment, and there is still one in the cart. They are sold out now – so someone is going to get lucky when this one jumps out.
September 25, 2013 at 10:48 pm in reply to: Uni Colts sold out… in seconds? Or was there a problem? #903117I got one too! I’m hoping for something that will match one of my other GB’s. I really like the white/dapple pinto in the store photo!
I got mine! One uni, and one poad. Passed on the dragons, they seemed kinda expensive for the size.
I was there the instant they went in, hit F5, and they were gone. I wonder if the quantity was set to ‘1’ by mistake?
If you want to reclaim control of your ebay account, you need to go to your My eBay page, click on Account – Site Preferences, and hit Edit under Offer the Global Shipping Program. There you can opt back out of this idiocy.
I have heard that international buyers will STILL be charged customs fees on their packages. The fees you pay through the global shipping program are a broker fee and other such nonsense. If you ship with this method your packages also get sent to a ‘middle man’ who OPENS THE PACKAGES, and repackages them, and then ships them to the buyer. THAT is what the fees are for.
I don’t buy from sellers who use this program. It’s a money grab by ebay, plain and simple.
(Also note, I don’t use the program, so everything above is hearsay… I heard it, and I am repeating it, so there may not be total truth in it.)
Picked up a bag of my little ponies off kijiji for $25 – got one I needed for my collection (booyah!) plus several upgrades (booyah!) and the replaced ones should be worth about $100 when sold (yeah!). While at that house, the seller mentioned she had a bunch of other stuff, including strawberry shortcake. Well, I said I collect those too, and bought two bags of stuff (dolls and minis) for $40. The dolls should resell for about $100. The minis… ebay says they are worth $500-$700! (boooo- YAH!)
Two days later, picked up a box full of ponies for $225. Overall value… at least $900. (Boooyah!) So buying a nice ‘stone is now in my future, once I do a bit of sorting and selling!
After much thought and discussion, we (the wife and I) have decided to bow out on this one. We were VERY excited and had picked favorites, but this is 5 weeks worth of mortgage for us! Way too expensive. We were anticipating something more in the range of $250…
For us Canadians, it’s $360 plus $22 for shipping… and then tack on $85 for customs and duty fees. Total of $465 means that if we don’t like it, the odds of reselling/trading and breaking even are pretty slim. 🙁
Disappointed, we’ve been watching for this. Going to add our voices to the ‘too expensive for a chance’ crowd.
I … vote for either one. On the one hand, I prefer one big group, a better chance to get one! On the other hand… if you separate them, but keep the one-per-group rule, then I have a chance at two!
Overall… I think keeping one big group is the best idea. There is going to be MAJOR competition for this group, if you keep it as one big group, more people will be happy. Fewer will be disappointed that they missed completely. People have already be posting saying ‘if I get a natural, I will trade for a candycorn’ and vice versa. Peeps are already prepared to trade. And besides… most of the batch are AWESOME, so the odds of getting one you like are pretty good. I’m not a candy corn fan… but there are many in those pictures that are lovely! More like painted horses than candy corns.
Edit – oops, sorry, nevermind. Wrong account was logged in.
I got one too! I’m loving that one in the middle of the group!
My little one finally arrived. Complete with a lovely bill from canada customs. 🙁 I do really like him, but I miiiiiight be tempted to trade. Probably not, but let’s see what is out there?
Hope I can get the pictures done right.
