Happy Turkey Day Everyone!!!
LOVE that cartoon! 😀
I have a friend who’s an acheologist at the University and apparently the whole department thinks the whole thing is hilarious. I have to agree. I’m sure when they did up the calendar, 2012 was an awfully long way off! 😉
Dec 21 is my birthday and for me this year it will definately mark a turning point. I should be done my practicum around that time and on my way to fulltime employment in my new career! A definate turn around from the last few difficult years
Ha! Utah beat us to it! 😉
We have snow in the forecast for next week!A HUGE Heck Yeah for me!
I finished the last of the classes for my Diploma on Friday! I just have a practicum to do and then I’ve Graduated!!! H)
I think it’s going to take a few days to sink in that I don’t have to be up at 6 to go to class. I woke up at 7:30 this morning and had a panic attack that I was late for class (and it’s Sunday *derp* )
Thanks again Jennifer – Can you tell me where I can purchase Apoxie Sculpt?
Check out the local Taxidermy shops, thats where I get mine! 🙂
or
http://www.avesstudio.com
This is the company that makes apoxie scult and you can buy it direct or they have a list of places in your area that do sell it. They were super helpful (directed me to the taxidermy shop I use now) when I contacted them years ago.September 1, 2012 at 4:36 pm in reply to: A-FOO-FOR-ALL! An Epic Foo Swap! UPDATED OCT 2nd! These guys are so little and adorable I’m sure I could find time to paint one 😀I can’t give any advice since I don’t live in the States but it sounds exicting!
Yipes! I’m glad that you didn’t loose all your money and got it figured out!
The Ebay thing…
Like everyone else has said, I’m pretty sure this is a scam. Cancel the transaction and contact ebay to let them know what happened, send them the message you recieved too.Unfortunately it is easy to create a website these days so there is no guarantee that there really was a fire and there have been incidents here of people using and linking to legitimate disaster events to make a quick buck 🙁
There is no way this makes you insensitive! The fact that you were worried shows just how caring you are. *hugs*
These guys are Super Cute! and tiny!
I’ve told myself no PYOs until I’ve graduated (4 months to go!) I don’t need any more distractions :pI tea stained a KiRin and Dragon a few years ago and love the finish. I used regular orange pekoe black tea (red rose or tetly) and used a few bags in a large bowl of hot water, let it strengthen until it looked black and put the PYOs directly into the tea, leaving them there til they reached a colour I liked, they will lighten as they dry, then took them out and first patted them dry before leaving them to dry for a couple of days. You can antique or paint them just like a regular PYO too. These guys are so tiny and inexpensive I think I’m going to try staining them with different teas when I get the chance 😀
August 15, 2012 at 11:44 pm in reply to: Where to Find Retired Dragon List (So I don't request unnecessarily) #884875All the white dragons are retired but a few occasionally pop up on ebay or in the classifieds. You can post a ‘Want’ ad in the classifieds too.
Retired colors are:
– Brown
– Emerald
– Green
– Peacock
– Red Fire
– Ruby
– Rainbow
– WhiteThough if Melody comes up with a new dragon there is the possibility that it may be released in a retired colour!
Bless your Mum for truly understanding what those firefighters are doing in order to save lives and homes!
People are infinitely more important than homes. I find myself with the desire to smack those people on the news who whine that the firefighters should have done more to save their home, or the people who get themselves trapped because they refuse to leave their home when the evacuation is called and then the firefighters have to risk their lives to rescue them.
Just over a year ago a small town north of here called Slave Lake (approx 6000 people) had 40% of the town destroyed by wildfire. The residents had maybe a half an hour to grab what they could and get out. To make it worse, the highway was block by the same fire. The town evacuated and when asked if they were upset that their homes were gone, everyone said people were more important then homes and places. And during this one of the Helicopter pilots flying to fight the fire was killed in a crash.
Those are some amazing pictures. I can’t help thinking that she should contact the fire crews involved and see if they want copies. I’m sure the crews would appreciate hearing from someone who appreciates and cares about what they do.
Thanks everyone!
I will have to look into a pasta machine!
I’ve tried regular sculpy, super sculpy, fimo and a no name brand from the local Michaels and had the same issues with all of them. I know some of it can be air temp (winter v summer) but it is never rock hard or crumbly. I can always squish a corner (yes I am that person) before I buy, I just can’t get it to a really workable consistency like I can get with clay or apoxie sculpt. I’ve also gotten various bits from 2 local art supply stores and three different Michaels and always had the same issues.
Squee! Happy Dance!
I had a parcel waiting for me when I got home from school!I got a lovely golden tannish wolfie (similar to Bullsquids) with one turquoise eye and one gold eye. 😀
I’ll get pics later once my camera battery charges
