Here’s a CB male Crimson for you guys. I got too many males. He grows up in about 7 hours.

April 6, 2013 at 11:47 am in reply to: First attempt at repairs: How to remove melty cardboard from dragons safely? #895528I’ve seen citadel paint at Games Workshop which is a Warhammer store. I don’t know where else it’s sold.
April 3, 2013 at 5:19 am in reply to: Report Windstone Fakes/Knock offs/Infringment Pls read first #895441Of the completed listings I can see for that item they are all red(not sold) no green listings. The only previous listing still viewable that got bids has reserve not met. I’m pretty sure that the previous time this item came up here the bidder was a WS member saw the post about it not being an official paint job and withdrew the bid. At least now they’re not trying to pass it off as Melody’s paint job.
Congrats! She got 3/4 judges to turn around and they were fighting over her. She comes on 50 min in. Blake thinks he has a winner!
Were you one of her support crew?
Krylon makes a good spray on clear coat which alot of people here use. With their finishes if it doesn’t say satin, matte, etc it’s gloss finish. It should work but just in case you might want to test a small patch on the back side. I don’t know what it will do as I’ve always used acrylics and haven’t even heard of anything that bleeds on windstones. Most stuff if it’s not acrylic it soaks into the stone staining it. Hope this helps.
I got mine! Flamingdragon painted me a bone-type dragon – my swap pieces are all black/white/grey, and this one will fit perfectly with all his friends once we’ve moved (the others are packed). The pics are making him seem whiter than he is.
He came with a psychedelic fuzzy too 😀
I love how the accents are white instead of black – it’s a really nice contrasting touch. Thanks, Tara!
Glad you like him! Not using color for me was a challenge. I don’t even own a bottle of grey paint. Most black an white schemes I could think of had a hint of red or yellow. After thinking about to do for a while and not coming up with anything, I spontaneously grabbed him off the shelf and antiqued him with black. Gypsum colored accents rather than black just seemed right so I color matched some paint for the accents. He seemed to like how he was painted cause he declined every other idea I came up with to fancy him up. You need to watch that one, he’s an opinionated one. He had a better idea of what he wanted than I did 😀 . Though he did refuse to tell me his name 🙁
(his eyes are metallic periwinkle for those who can’t tell by the picture)
March 21, 2013 at 5:11 am in reply to: Lavender Pearl Hatching Dragons are available now! 3-20-13 #894934I know BVP didn’t sell out immediately either cause I was able to snag one even though the others released at the same time were gone by the time I stumbled on them in the store. I think time of day and whether the right people notice is part of it.
I found the ups brokerage fee list here
The brokerage fees charged by Canada post is a flat $5. That’s just the processing fee not the customs. On top of the brokerage fee regardless of method shipped you get charged the taxes you would of payed if you had bought it here(or atleast that’s all I’ve ever been charged).
I got a shock today! I wasn’t expecting mine to show up for another week or two. “Volcanic Sunset” keeper by Branzyboo arrived today. He looks amazing. I haven’t taken pictures yet but Branzyboo feel free to post yours. He’s shades of yellow and orange overlayed with a black purple.
Up front USPS is not always the cheapest method but unless you’re shipping air(insanely expensive) ALWAYS ship USPS internationally. It’s the brokerage fees on the couriers that will kill you.
For declared value if you under claim the item and something happens to it insurance will probably only cover what you claimed on the customs. Anything under $20 won’t be charged customs. Items coming into Canada declared as a gift valued $60 or under won’t be charged customs and I believe the gift limit into the US is $100.
I usually prefer the cheapest option available for shipping. For anything under 4lbs you can ship it First class. The down side of this is there is no tracking and little to no insurance. If you’re shipping Priority or higher I would get the tracking and insurance.
For shipping out of country vs in about the only difference is you need a customs form on the package. For receiving packages they are delivered to my door. If no one is home sometimes they leave them sometimes I have to pick it up from the post office. If parcel requires a signature or has fees to pay then goes to the post offices otherwise most of the time they leave it.
For cost USPS just put up their shipping cost by upto about 40% for international shipping so my cost price points will be off. The average increase into Canada seems to be about $10. Before the increase a small sculpt such as a fledgling would be about $10-$15(First class) and a large sculpt such as a Male dragon was about $40-$50(Priority)

He’s really cool looking!
Image shak didn’t re-size all the images…
He looks awesome!
For images if you want to control their size just add width=”400″ into the code. The 400 is in pixels. I think about the biggest width the forum will display properly is 700px. You can also use height to control the size of tall pics.
The edit button for the first post is above the thread title. It shows up as one of three tabs.
As for a peacock lap a good place to look would be in the classified ads here. You can find it in the drop down menu under community. You can look through what is already for sale as well as post a wanted ad so others know you’re looking for one. You can also keep an eye on your local online classified ads. Sometimes someone in your area has some windstones for sale and since you would be picking them up you can inspect them before you buy. I got a Black gold Emperor though a kijiji ad a pawn shop posted.
For the horn Windstone uses a paint pen. I forget which one they use but I like to use krylon 18k gold leafing pen cause it’s shinier. If you use it you’d have to do both horns at the very least cause it’s a gold color instead of a coppery gold color. When I use it I tend to do all the gold accents on a statue with it. The tip does tend to be a bit big so I like to prime the pen then pull out the felt tip(or use the back of a small paint brush to prime it after the tip has been removed) then use a small round paint brush to paint on the gold accents. Just make sure you don’t plan on using the paint brush for other things as the paint doesn’t fully come out.
Time change meant I had even more troubles than normal getting to bed especially since I slept in yesterday. So I got less than 3 hrs of sleep last night. I get up this morning and I just feel weird. I feel bone tired and yet just about ready to bounce off the walls. I also have the urge to clean(which happens maybe ever 6 months if not a year). I also knew that the weird energy surge would totally be gone after spend 1h on the bus to get to work and I would spend the day nodding off. So I was a bad girl and didn’t go in to work today. It was a surprisingly productive day which I spent cleaning my room(when I wasn’t napping or playing solitaire). For the first time in probably 5 yrs I can see my entire floor (Yay! I finally finished step 1 of operation clean room: Find the Floor). Other horizontal surfaces still need some work though.
Branzyboo: Does your car have all season tires or winter tires? If you don’t have winter tires I would recommend getting some(at least for next winter). They make a huge difference. My mom used to have troubles getting down the back alley in a couple inches of snow, since switching it has to be pretty bad for her to have troubles in the snow.
