What’s going on with the white list? Is anyone running it anymore? No one has posted on it since April 1, as far as I can tell. If I am mistaken, I owe an apology!!I hope everything is ok there!

..and I have a lot of Windstones and I still don’t know so much! I don’t know how to post pictures, and I ask questions all the time and luckily the people on this forum are kind and gracious enough to answer them without making me feel like I just fell off a turnip truck! Nobody knows everything, we just share what we know and find out what we don’t know and try to be kind to each other. I’m constantly amazed at the way people on this forum know how to do stuff with the computer that I wish I could do and they know so much about Windstones I don’t know and even though I have a lot of them, doesn’t mean I know a lot. Having doesn’t equal knowing, believe me, I wish it did!! 😆

Colors: Blue, green, purple, turquoise, silver

Animals: Cats, tigers, lions, panthers, wolves

Mythicals: Dragons, pegasus, angels, fairies, wizards/enchantresses

Foods: Chocolates, cookies, cake, pies, cheesecake

Flowers: Roses, carnations, daffodils, lilacs, smell-goods

Gifts: Windstones, electronic/digital gadgets, reggae stuff in the colors(not the ganja stuff!), travel stuff.

Collections: Windstones, egg plates, decorative scales, Swarkowski(sp?) crystal animals, CD’s, DVD’s

I think I have some more collections, (candleholders, my mother’s teacups, buttons, 250 cookbooks, down from 600) but they aren’t active collections, my egg plates, scales, and crystal animals aren’t either. But if I run across an interesting egg plate or scale, I add it to the collection. But I don’t go on egg plate or teacup hunts.

Wish I knew how to spell the name of that crystal!

I’m looking for a small emerald wizard. If anyone has one that would like a new home, I would love to offer one! Please let me know!

The other piece of mine is the lady white pegasus with the smushed side. I think you said you finished her, you just had the wizard to finish and you would be through with my stuff. I hope that helps! 😀

Welcome to Windstone addiction, uh, passion community! I think many of us started out with the peacock colored sculpts and then became passionate about a lot of the other ones, much to our surprise and the chagrin of our pocketbooks! This is also a good place to get Windstones when forum people want to sell or trade or direct each other to good sources of Windstones that are retired. Check the Windstone dealers that are listed with us too. Good luck!

in reply to: Had to open up a paypal dispute #732388

I’ve had a lot of problems with sellers sending me really badly packaged Windstones and when they arrive damaged blaming the shippers, ie, the PO, and when the PO refused the insurance claim, the sellers get very upset because they think that because it’s insured, that should be enough! So I have had to file a lot of disputes and claims and paypal has been very supportive and fair and backed me up in my claims. I’ve taken pictures of what the Windstone looked like when I opened it, what the packaging looked like, the box it came in, etc, the specific damage (sometimes it’s horrible!, really smushed!) and what recourse I’m looking for. Sometimes I want a full refund, othertimes I just want enough money to pay for the repairs because I don’t want to return the piece and we negotiate that. But paypal has been fully supportive and willing to work with me. I haven’t had any bad experience with them at all out of maybe 8 or 9 times I have had to do this. I am always so glad when I get a Windstone and it doesn’t rattle! I think YES! no problem with the seller! I actually got a large wizard in one small box with 2 pieces of hard styrofoam, 4 small pieces of bubblewrap, and wrapped in a teeshirt!!! Needless to say, it was a smushed mess! And the seller declared that his packing was “quite adequate” and when the PO refused his insurance claim (after I filed the dispute/claim),he fought me, the PO, ebay, and paypal. In fact, he is still fighting with them even though I won the claim. (Even if you win the claim, paypal can only collect money from the seller if they have money in their account, and if they don’t, they can take it out if the seller ever puts any money into at a later time. I don’t know what the time frame is.) This seller didn’t have any money in his account, but he did eventually put some money in and paypal took it out and gave it to me, but it wasn’t the whole amount, so the seller still owes me some more. This has been going on for 7 months. I call him my PITA seller. Anyway, right now I only have one claim going on in paypal and again, they are being fully supportive. I really feel protected in that I don’t have to chase the sellers around, they do it for me and they investigate the claims and decide if they are fair or not. I don’t file frivolous claims, I dislike the whole process intensely and would just as soon not, so I make sure I am right, but I also don’t let the sellers slide. If they don’t do it right, or they say it’s mint and it comes chipped and there’s no way the PO could have done it, I take pictures and I file. I have certainly learned a lot about the PO rules and the paypal rules in the process!! I still don’t kmow them all and they do change over time, but I am more confident now about standing up and protesting bad behavior. I don’t know how to fix anything so I don’t say to myself, oh well, I’ll just get a marker pen or a little paint and see whether I can fix it. No, I can’t, I will make it worse. If it needs fixing, I need to send it off to Kyrin or DragOnfeathers for TLC and get the seller to pay for it. If I do the damage, then that’s my problem and I deal with it and I don’t whine, I send it off to get it fixed or live with it, I don’t blame it on a seller. I guess that’s why when I file a dispute/claim, they are clean claims, making it easier for paypal to be supportive.
Anyway, I thought I would share my experiences with filing disputes/claims with paypal maybe to make it easier for someone else to file if they need to. For me, it’s like going to court, you only go if you need to go, it’s not fun and you don’t go lightly, but you go when you have to stand up and push back and paypal can be there to protect and defend you, that’s where the fees go, might as use them when you need them! And now it’s not scary, it’s just unpleasant, annoying, and a PITA!
So best of luck on your dispute, and with any luck it won’t go to a claim, but if it does, you can just file it and let paypal do it. 🙂

I was following your problems with DragonCavern and I don’t really expect her to refund any money to me. I sent her four dragons after she agreed that she would buy them from me and she didn’t pay me for them and said she never got them. The Fedex said they delivered them to her porch. But as she denies ever having gotten them, I don’t expect her to acknowledge them now. Of course it was my major error in not getting the money from her first, but it was late, raining, I was hungry and expecting guests, and I was already at the Fedex and she had said she would paypal the money in an hour, so I just trusted her to do it. Bad move on my part, so I lost over $450. I pursued her through PM’s, email, phone calls, etc. I got 2 very angry responses, 1 after 3 weeks and 1 after 3 more weeks.
So I really don’t expect her to come clean now. I chalked it up to a hard learned lesson, but it still stings. That was my experience with her. That was in late March/early April.

Very well said, dragOnfeathers! I totally agree that as each one of us look at our dragon sculptures, we see whatever it is we want to see in them. Personally, most of them take my breath away in just sheer beauty and that so much of their impressiveness for me lies in their dignity, calm, and inner strength without aggressiveness: no teeth and claws out, no blowing fire and smoke. “Males” that wear beautiful jewels and stunning paint,”females” with inner strength and dignity. For me, they project the image of power without aggression, a feeling that says, don’t even let the thought cross your mind to mess with me because I have teeth and claws and can use them if I have to, but I don’t have to prove that to anyone and I’d just as soon not, ok? In essence, well-mannered polite dragons who know the social rules. That applies to both “genders” however they are projected. I see the OW’s as old and wise and full of stories and just waiting for some young dragons to ask them to tell them about the “old days” and give them some good advice from their store of accumulated knowledge and wisdom and to pass on the history of dragondom. They know better than to judge, they just watch, knowing that everything will happen in its own time, that the young will learn in their own way, and that everything will be all right eventually, they did it their way, and now it’s time for the next generation to do it in their way. They also appreciate all the differences they see, the varieties of dragons that come and go, the colors and sculpts and paints, they listen to the squabbles and gossip and complaints, but don’t judge any of it unless they are asked to and then they are fair and wise. I see the oriental suns as the playful ones with the chew toys who don’t know when to stop, like puppies or small children at bedtime begging for just one more game, just one more, I promise! and you know they don’t mean it and it will still mean another major tussle and 1/2 hour before bedtime, but they are so cute and hard to resist and so charming, you give in anyway, each time saying, next time…!
Anyway, those are my projections on some of my sculpts, I’m sure they are not the same for everyone. I don’t name mine, I know others do. I think it’s more important to be easy with each other about how we are with the dragons we own than to set rules about how others have to be with the dragons they own.
DM, it seems like it would have been hard for you to come on the forum and talk about investing a decade of time and money into earning a title that was important to you at the time that perhaps would have been less understood here, as well as your grief over losing your irreplacable ring, and find the debate/defense continuing. Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. I do have an idea of it, my safe was broken into and my late husband’s watches that I was saving for his son were stolen. Not the same, but a small inkling. Your mother’s mother ring can be recreated if you were to choose to do that with the stones, etc. It wouldn’t be the same, but the idea would still be there. If you choose not to do that, you already know your mother is in your heart whether the ring is with you or not, and the love is still there as well.
I’m so sorry and *big hugs*
