Those GB uni colts make me super excited. I still hope they do some in LP. Ever since I first saw the uni colt sculpt I’ve been dying to get one in the silver grulla color.
I wish there was a feature that told us exactly when they sold out. I like to torture myself by wondering how closely I missed out on them. 🙂
Hey, I’ll give you a whip to flog yourself with: I paid for mine at 18:l6 on the 7th according to PayPal and when I returned to the product information there was only 1 left (there were 3 when I noticed them in the store and snagged mine) How close were you?
Well now I feel much better. I wasn’t even close. It was around 21:00 when I got around to checking my e-mail on Wed night. I’ve been kicking myself too, since it was a slow day at work and there was no reason why I couldn’t have checked it before going home. Oh well.

Congrats. He’s gorgeous.
Beautiful Oriental! Of course you should show him off – that’s what this thread is for, sharing our pieces. Good catch!
That is one GORGEOUS dragon!!! Congratulations!!
You guys are great. This is why I love this forum, it’s hard to get any enthusiasm from the people in my life. My brother only cares about the Poads. My parents smile and nod and say they’re pretty, but never really look at them when they come over. And my sister gives me that “this is what you spend your money on” look when she visits. It’s cool to have people to share these with.
This is my second special piece. 🙂 please excuse the bragging, I’m just super happy right now 🙂
Oriental Sun Dragon – Forest Flame Test Paint #1
I just love the color on this piece. It’s a much deeper green than the old emerald orientals. The gold, and pearl give it such a beautiful shifting shine, kind of like a snake skin. The last picture looks like it was washed out by the lighting, but that is the actual pearl coloring along the spine. The gold color unfortunately doesn’t show through well in the pictures.
The new piece that just went up “BAROQUE BLACK #1” Oriental dragon also has the Global shipping option. Maybe Windstone could find a way for the winning bidder to pay outside of Ebay but still using Paypal in order to avoid the insane fees. I’m tempted to bid on the male kirin that’s ending in 16 min, but $73 for shipping is more than 25% of the current high bid.
My condolences honey. I guess the only thing you can do is document the damage to the exterior box and keep contacting them. Insurance should cover the shipped item regardless of whether the fault is with the packaging or not. And if the box was obviously damaged, then the fault was not with the packaging. You could always take the box, broken pieces, and receipt into a FedEx depot and refuse to leave until they do something about it. Plus if you get to yell at someone, it might make you feel better. :~
My brother and I don’t deal with FedEx personally (way on the other side of town), but we have had issues with UPS damaging/losing packages. It ends up taking several phone calls, and a fair amount of luck to actually get someone either competent or who actually cares about your problem. We’ve had several “That’s not our fault,” or “we can’t do anything about that” operators before actually getting someone who does something about it. Usually, if you bother them enough, eventually someone will do something about it.
I hope everything works out for you. Wish I had better advice.
I think it only started yesterday. When the tattoo Kirin and Oriental were first listed the Global Shipping Program was not there. I only noticed it when I got home from work yesterday and decided to check the current high bids. I can’t remember if I checked them on Friday, but I know it wasn’t there when they were listed. It’s strange that it did it to existing auctions after bids had already been placed. :~
Has anyone else from Canada (or anywhere else other than the US) noticed that the ebay listings now use the global shipping program. Maybe it’s just me but even if I wanted the tattoo #1 oriental, I could never afford the $89 US for shipping that it is currently quoting. Especially considering the fact that the final cost of the item will push the total shipping well over $100 US. 🙁
P.S. Patricia, I’ve never managed to snag any of your special ebay pieces but they certainly are beautiful. Thanks for the hard work.
Okay, then, what emotion would you say is on a Male Griffon’s face? How about the Female? The chicks?
I don’t know about your griffins, but mine look positively smug sitting on their shelf. Especially the male. Don’t know how you could work that into a picture. Maybe “Griffins think they’re better than . . .” 🙂
I agree. I think a the young poads would look cute in the various bengal colors you guys did on the adult poads. Or even some of the test paint type youngs, like the chickadee (squeak :)),or the numbat (squeak squeak :)).
Hi, I’m pretty new to the forums. I started receiving windstones as birthday gifts from my parents when I was in high school, but only started aggressively collecting this year.
This is my only special piece so far. Siberian Husky #1 gothic unicorn
The rest rest of my collection are all production/limited production pieces. I only buy one of each sculpture that I like, and only in the color I think best suits it. Plus a couple of GB poads.
If I ever manage to get my camera to properly focus more that 20% of the time I’ll probably get around to posting pics of them.
