SQUEAK Oh, sorry, couldn’t help myself!! This scheme is gorgeous, down to the precious darker paws and nose. Wings remind me of a butterfly, and I echo Wampus Dragon’s squeak for other egg colors besides white.

Edit: and the lavender highlights….swoon. Yes, love this color.

Great job with the new colors! Thank you for producing drool-worthy dragons.

It’s really hit and miss and I guess you have to decide if you’re willing to take the risk because, aside from local pick up, there’s just no guarantee of what you’ll be getting. Even with what you might think are safe bets.

I agree. I have had wonderful luck, and terrible luck. I still can’t receive an undamaged emperor, so still don’t have that sculpt after buying three. Yes, one arrived single-boxed wrapped in newspaper in what I was sure was a postal insurance scam. BUT (and this is a BIG one) I have had wonderful luck as well!

My biggest advise is to ask the seller A LOT of detailed questions about both the piece and how they are planning to ship. I like the idea of giving them the link to the packaging instructions! Ask for insurance on the piece.

That listing you posted was just awful. First it says “Good Vintage Condition” then later says “Looks like new!!” with very visible chips….sigh….some people.

Also, I have seen people here on the forum ship a Windstone box to the seller, and perhaps you could borrow one from a Windstone member as well. I know this is more expensive, and could totally negate the cost of the piece, but if you find something worth it there are alternatives to trusting the seller to pack correctly.

        Good luck!

I think I’m in the minority, but I do not like the ivory scheme at all. I do, however, absolutely LOVE that “Black Sunset” coloring on the Kyrins. I squeak for dragons in this color!!!!

I won the Spring Copper #1 fledgeling – yay me! I am surprised I actually got one. Usually there is a flurry of bids literally at the last second and I lose out (I’ve tried to get so many of these…well the ones that aren’t out of my financial reach anyway), but this time I won! Getting one of these “one of a kind” or “limited edition” or in this case the “test paint” one’s is so exciting for me. I have looked at some of the members collections and they are so awesome, so it might not be such a big deal to some of the more veteran collectors, but it almost feels like I’m getting an Oscar or something! This week, including the above mentioned fledgeling, I should be receiving (from Windstone and E-bay) dragon numbers 21, 22, 23 and 24 in my collection. 24 dragons is small compared to a lot of you, but I’m finally building the family up!

Now I just need those Secret Keepers to get re-stocked…

Congratulations!!! Yes, and I almost bid on this at the last second, so if you ever want to sell….hahaha…. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think all of us, even those of us who own more than one Test Paint or OOAK, feel extraordinarily lucky. I know every time I happen to win one I feel like it’s Christmas and my birthday all at once!!!

That indigo mother ki-rin is beautiful.

Yes, she is!!! I am not a big fan of all the indigos, but she is stunning.

I hope P.S. or Melody paints more scratchers, the scratcher sculpt is one of my favorite dragons…oh, wait…do I have a favorite???

I also notice that in the picture it seems as if there is no space between his wings and body. There should be a definite space there, instead of just painted.

Edit: As I state later, I think I am wrong here. I misspoke, sorry. ๐Ÿ™

Actually, I think I am wrong here. I don’t own this particular sculpt, but my sister-in-law does and she says her wings “touch” the body underneath as well. My impression was that the wings were more “cut out” and away from the body. I’m going to have to look again next time I’m at her house! ๐Ÿ™‚

*phew* I sure hope I like those purple claws in person! ^_^

Let us know how it works out!!! It does look like a gorgeous spectral. Love the wing detailing….

I almost held off my bid on the Kiwi Lap (thankfully, she’s mine) when I saw this Barn Swallow scratcher. I think this is my favorite paint scheme of all time, but I wish there were more contrast on the belly in this piece. It is gorgeous, still, though. I expect it to go high….

I wish the claws on the Mars Oriental were gold…..that would be perfection.
