After how long this whole thing has been in the works, I wouldn’t have thought it’d be so hard for me to wait a little while longer to hear back.
When I go to my KS messages inbox, I see just one group of 3 messages from Melody for The Veligent. This makes me think that if someone sent her 2 messages, they would show up in a group like this, with the later time shown. Definitely a bummer when claim time matters.
If Melody/Susie realize this in time, they can take a look at any messages that are actually message groups (e.g., with a “(2)” or “(3)” or whatever after the username) and appropriately interleave the ones that were sent first into the main KS message queue.
Sounding more and more like KS backer number (which I also didn’t realized existed) would be a good way to track the order in which requests are filled next time!
Well I dont know how the timestamps work in the specifics as does it go by minute or by second?
My sentiment was Melody probably got pummeled with 50-70 messages all at the same minute with no way to truly sort them out. If it breaks it down by seconds them maybe that will still work the original way. I’m not sure how nitty gritty kickstarter’s messages break down the times they were recieved.Melody doesn’t need an actually visible timestamp; the order that the messages appear in her KS inbox is the order in which they were received.
I agree it probably makes sense in general to fill orders / dragon preferences by backer number. I think there might be sore feelings if that were done this time around, since Melody has said multiple times and all through the campaign preview that it would be done by KS message timestamp, that that is also reflected in the live KS text. That said, I know no one anticipated the “Contact me” button not working for some people, so I don’t know.
I thought I was on top of it but by the time I got my message in there were already 70 some odd backers… I thought with the pandemic it wouldn’t be as crazy but it looks like nothing is as strong as the windstone sickness! LOL!

I know, right? I thought I was right on the mark too, but all the pledges seemed to explode out of nowhere all at once. I was sitting here refreshing the page, and by time it showed as live for me there was 10k+ already pledged. Dang.

I messaged Melody for the ones Yolanda, Setsunawolf and Tig3r had mentioned they wanted. If you guys want to message me to confirm I can message again for you.
Good idea Kim. And maybe Melody can consider the timestamps here of the first time each of them posted. It’s not as early as it would have been if the KS contact button had worked, but it might get you guys further up in the queue, closer to where you belonged.
After pleading and sending my message, I realized my payment information was a little outdated and edited my pledge to fix it. Will that mess up the timestamp of the original pledge to make it appear that it happened after the message?
No, editing your payment information shouldn’t change any initial timestamps.
I did everything correctly . The contact me button DOES NOT WORK for me. I’m pretty upset about this too.

If I’m unable to get one of those I fear in gonna need to back out unless some compromise can happen. I lost out on my chances because of that stupid button not working.
I dont want to back out but also dont want a dragon not in a color i wanted. 🙁I can’t speak for Melody, but 80 and 142 don’t look like very complicated color schemes… possible she might be able to paint another similar one of one of these for you. I’m sure she’s crazily trying to catch up on everything right now. 🙂

You posted here saying the messaging feature wasn’t working at 4 min after the hour, maybe if you tell Melody your choices here or some other way, she can “fill” your order before she fills any received at 5 minutes after the hour or later via KS. Of course I don’t know for sure, but its worth a shot.
You guys don’t see the Contact Me button when you click on Melody’s face and scroll down to the bottom of the “About the creator” screen, or what’s happening?
Aww, sorry guys, that sucks. My internet connection was very, very slow while I was trying to message, I can only hope maybe keep trying and it might work? : -(
If the one you want is a “simpler” one and it has already claimed, its possible Melody might be able to paint a similar one sometime during the next month for you.
Wow, by time I finished sending my message the project was over 40k backed.

I did want to say thanks very much for letting us request individual dragons; I wouldn’t have taken a chance on getting random colors, so this allowed me to participate. I know it’s probably going to be a big (big big? How many bigs?) headache for you guys, but I appreciate it, so, so much! <3
I plan to message after making my KS pledge with something like this:
“I would like to request numbers [XX], [YY], and [ZZ]. If any of these have already been claimed, I would like to wait for similar-looking ones to be painted sometime during the campaign and I will be happy to wait for them. If one or more of my choices has been claimed and you are not planning to paint similar ones during the campaign, my alternate choices are numbers [AA], [BB], [CC], [DD], [EE], [FF], [GG], and [HH].”
I personally would be delighted with similar-looking ones if someone requests my preferred numbers before me. But for those who wouldn’t want to take that chance, I imagine they would just list their alternate choices, and whichever of those are still available will be sent to them.
P.S. Getting so, so excited!
Mmm, so many people love 142, and 156 (the tiger stripes guy), and 64 (the first all pink one), and probably a handful of others as well. I really like the idea of multiple people being able to request the same ID, and then additional dragons being painted in as similar a way as possible for them. Of course they will be a little different, but a little different might still be what someone would want and love more than any of the other existing colors.
Melody, the KS text mentions that you will be painting additional Bantams during the month of the KS – is it extra difficult / extra work to try and paint additional ones similar to much-beloved existing color schemes (142, 156, 64, etc)?
Ok, so I just rewatched relevant portions of the facebook live stream video and compared with the Kickstarter photos.
Numbers up through 136 are the same in the video and in the new KS photos.
137 video = 141 KS
138 video = 142 KS
139 video = 143 KS
140 video = 144 KS141 video = 137 KS
142 video = 138 KS
143 video = 139 KS
144 video = 140 KSNumbers are back to matching at 145+.
So in the KS photos, two rows have been swapped; the 137-140 video dragons are listed with numbers 141-144, and the 141-144 video dragons are listed with numbers 137-140.
This appears to be the only difference.
P.S. No one need worry about video 142 / KS 138, she’s coming home with me. 😉
