One reason I sat this grab bag out was because I thought most of the unicorns were predominantly fantasy, which I’m not keen on (the other reason was that it would have cost me about $600 Canadian!). It wouldn’t surprise me if other safari-lovers on this forum abstained from this batch for the same reason I did. There are a few mixed safari/fantasy young unicorns from this batch that I love (Vendrick, Azriel, Ripple, among others), but I have no GB young to trade for them.
Sweet! I submitted the name Vendrick. He’s a boss in Dark Souls 2, a former king. I’m glad to see that the name was given to an awesome looking unicorn. I sat out this batch out because I’m not a huge fan of pure fantasy colors and patterns, but Vendrick is one I would have been happy to receive.
Those warm soft earth tones are perfect for the ki-rins, just beautiful. And wowza, the bidding on the Jaguar Flame griffins is crazy!
Ahhh, I won Laddie! Now he can be besties with Cedar Wood. 😀 The Emp-ire grows…

Maybe line them up like Storm Troopers …..I will, once I get them unpacked (I moved in December and most of my collection is still boxed up.). With the addition of Laddie, my Emp-ire will consist of five emperors and four each of hatching emperors and empresses. 🙂

Jaguar Flame is so pretty – and this coming from someone who doesn’t particularly like reds! I bet that color scheme would be rather striking on an emperor dragon, eh?

I recently purchased an amethyst spectral dragon for my mom for Mother’s Day. He has a birthmark on his flank in the form of a single gold scale amidst his purple hide. Is this deliberate? What does it mean?
It is deliberate; you can see the gold scale in the Windstone Store photo of the amethyst spectral dragon. I don’t think it means anything, other than looking pretty. 🙂 Some of the earlier dragon colors, like green and brown, had even more scales picked out in different colors to add visual interest.
Oh, My Gosh!!!!! I got the Cedar Wood Gothic Unicorn. ****happy dance***** That is my daughter’s favorite unicorn sculpt and she adores the cedar wood paint scheme. As soon as I saw it on ebay, I was so hoping I would be able to get it for her birthday next week. Thank you, Laurie for an absolutely beautiful unicorn and thank you Melody for letting Laurie paint your special sculpt. :love: :love: :love:

If they are $360 (or more) again, I will have to sit this grab bag out. I’m not sure I would pay that much for even my number one pick, never mind a blind grab. But if they still sell out quickly with that high price tag, then more power to Windstone.
I just thought I’d mention, I’m pretty sure baby unicorns painted in solid color shift paint (like the wolf and cougar pebbles) would sell like hot cakes.
Look who arrived yesterday! 😀 He was delivered to my work around lunchtime, so I was itching to go home for half the day so I could take him out of his box and admire him. Laurie, he’s beautiful! I’ve always been a fan of rich natural tones on dragons, and the cedar wood emperor fits that bill perfectly. I especially love the markings on his head, just wonderful detailing. He looks so fierce and proud. When I unpack the rest of my collection (I moved recently), I will have to take some photos of cedar wood meeting the rest of the emp-ire. 🙂
I can already tell she is going to skyrocket in price. 🙂
I hope so, both for Windstone’s benefit and so that I don’t get tempted to bid. 😛
Wow, I just had a terrible/amazing thought: Laurie, please don’t paint cedar wood hatching royalty (paint them), I would go broke lol. They are part of the emp-ire, after all. 😉
