Whisker Hunter, I love your cool colored ori! The ones with the black base are really striking, and I love he teal fur. Great grab!
Zelda and Kim, congrats on your bright pink kiddos.
Syn, out of all the brightly colored wilds, this guy was my favorite from the class pic! I’m so glad someone here got him, and was able to post more accurate pictures. He’s gorgeous!

February 17, 2019 at 3:58 pm in reply to: Grab Bag Young Sitting Oriental Dragon Showoff Thread #1557814Lisa, your friend got a REALLY nice cool colored one! I love how it has silver and gold details. I’m sure it was an easy trade.
Garden Ninja, I didn’t notice the silver dots down that dragon’s side on the shop page. It’s a nice touch!

And thank you so much for posting your “turned up” checklist. I’ve been trying to keep track, but yours is so organized. I love it!
Natasha, your dragon is so unique! It’s impossible to tell from the class photo how neat she is. Just one of the many reasons these threads are so wonderful; there are so many “sleeper” dragons in these batches that you can only appreciate with more pictures! Congrats on such a cool grab.
Lisa, I think your dragon is my favorite of the bright rainbows. I love how the blue eye stands out against the purple and the absence of pink.
Oooo! Melkatsa, I like the detailing on yours. And how his feet are yellow instead of white.

In some lights he is SO plum. And in others he is completely orange gold.
Also a couple of detail shots. His eyes are an interesting color. I’m not as familiar as most with the specifics of the eyes, but it seems a metallic pale teal. I think it actually goes well because it pops a little bit more than a darker green. And you can see all the gold stippling under each scale. A lot of love went into making this little guy and I’m thrilled to have him.

That one is super interesting and I was hoping a forum member would get her so we could see some better pictures. I love the golden accents. And I can’t wait for more pictures later.
Amy – I suspect I speak for most all on here, no need for any apologies. This forum is a place for those who love Windstone, but it is also a place where we can offer support when someone is hurting. People who have never met in person can still care and be concerned about each other. Take care.
^^^ This, a hundred times. It sounds like you are an extremely generous, dedicated person with a huge heart. Unfortunately, amazing people like that can be easily taken advantage of and it sounds like that is what happened to you. While your heart heals, we’re all here for you.
Me too! Maybe Melody will do a batch next time in the darker, more earthy colors like this one. I’d like to see more koi ones too.
Oh, I would LOVE this! And be so broke!
I feel like there are lots of unaccounted for oris all ’round. I know they could have been easily purchased by non-forum users, but anyone else here waiting on theirs to show up? I’m excited for more eye candy.
February 14, 2019 at 7:21 pm in reply to: Grab Bag Young Sitting Oriental Dragon Showoff Thread #1557366No, it definitely doesn’t just go away. Over 5 and a half years is a substantial amount of time, and feelings and bonds you form in that time run very deep. It definitely doesn’t matter if he “wasn’t that good” or anything your brain knows when your heart is hurting so much. It was so brave of you to do what you did – call it off because you knew it was the best thing for both of you, despite how insanely difficult it was. Most people don’t have that courage. It will take a long time to heal, but you’re worth it. You might not think so right now, but you are. And you will find a new purpose, something else to devote yourself to. And whether that is a person, animal, job, or hobby is entirely up to you <3 Let no one tell you what it has to be.
February 14, 2019 at 6:57 pm in reply to: Grab Bag Young Sitting Oriental Dragon Showoff Thread #1557363Setsunawolf, I’m glad she’s growing on you! There’s actually a lot of lovely, subtle detailing on her so if she doesn’t wind up winning your heart, I bet someone else would love to trade.
Ela_Hara, yours is really pretty! I love all the blue detailing on the scales.
Tig3r06, I hardly noticed yours in the class pic, but your photos do her a lot more justice! The pastels are really nice; I’m sure you’ll have no trouble finding a great home for her.
@Setsunawolf-I’m sorry you’re feeling so bad. I can relate. I’ve suffered with anxiety my entire life (never depression though), but my fiance and I of 5 years 7 months broke up on August 28, and I’m so despondent I just pray for death every day. I had no idea it was even possible to feel this much pain. I just want it all to end. If anything does happen to me I’ll make sure my mom sees to it that all my Windstones end up with forum members. You’re a great community and I’ve enjoyed talking to you all over the years.
Amy, I’m so sorry to hear that; my heart breaks for you. Some things are just so awful and terrible it seems like the world will never be right again. But it WILL get better and there are plenty of people willing to be there for you in this terrible time (here, and elsewhere). Don’t give up hope. You’re stronger than you realize for making it this far <3 Sending you all my love from afar.
February 14, 2019 at 6:47 pm in reply to: Grab Bag Young Sitting Oriental Dragon Showoff Thread #1557353Got my delivery today after work! When I opened the box, I was really confused at first, because all I saw was plum and thought “… I don’t recognize you from the class photo.” But after a beat, it registered and I almost fell over. Turns out the mahogany ori found his way to my home! The lighting in my apartment is awful, so I’ll have to take his glamor shots tomorrow in the sunlight, but here’s a quick snap (I’m not sure why it keeps uploading sideways, though…).
These guys were so beautiful I knew I had to get one despite the high price tag, but I’ve admittedly been very anxious I’d be disappointed with my grab. They’re all stunning, but there’s a lot of pink in the Wilds, and that’s not a color I really gravitate towards. But I just couldn’t resist the detailing in the wild batch, not to mention that my favorites were all in that group. I seriously cannot believe my luck right now. 100% worth the price and the stress.

February 13, 2019 at 3:29 pm in reply to: Grab Bag Young Sitting Oriental Dragon Showoff Thread #1557116Lovely grabs, all!
Congrats on getting a personal favorite, Stormbreeze.
February 12, 2019 at 6:13 am in reply to: Grab Bag Young Sitting Oriental Dragon Showoff Thread #1556800It sounds like there are going to be a lot of sad hearts when that mahogany one pops up. My absolute favorite too and I have terrible luck! lol
Yea, he’s quite a looker! Definitely my second favorite after the orange and blue one.
All of them are so lovely! Congrats, all.
