Just a comment to all the haters of the current spectral eyes: make sure you see them in person before you pass judgment! Pics don’t really capture the true depth and color of a spectral’s eyes. You HAVE to see them on the ruby version, they look FANTASTIC! I never loved spectral eyes that much either, or the ruby dragons, but the ruby color plus spectral eyes hits it off perfectly. My ruby spectral is undoubtedly one of my most gorgeous pieces.
I have the ruby rising spectral myself, as it was the only one that interested me enough to get past the eyes – The sculpt is AMAZING in person, and it’s actually one of my favorite pieces of all time now…he’s so graceful and his scale patterns are so pretty…BUT, I still think the eyes are icky. 😛

-J R R TolkienI didn’t even KNOW about the mermaids until very recently…I really want to get them now…I think the candlelamp is really lovely.
MELODY: I remember hearing in another thread that they are retired?? Is this true? Can my local store still order one for me or are you guys all out at the factory??

Does he look anything like this guy?
If so, man you are LUCKY!
Wolfen – YES!!! 😀 He looks pretty much EXACTLY like that! I was gasped when I opened the box…I was so afraid that I was going to get stuck with an ugly grimey looking peacock that I hated! Because they never really look like they do in the pretty pictures, at least in my experience…but happily, this time I was wrong! ^_^ I’ll post an actual pic of him soon – I’m getting two more OWs and I want to take pictures of them all together too.

But I still want all the dragons with them. I would say teh better sales of the male have more to do with the amount of detail and the knotted curls than the “ugly” marble.
I’m feeling cantankerous today, so I’ll say anything. 😈
I can tolerate the marble on the orientals, because I just LOVE the dragons so much. But I really think that’s why I havn’t bought a coiled dragon yet…that marble is just so central to it, since he’s so small, it’s all I can see when I look at him. I guess it’s just that I’ve seen so many of those exact same marbles sold for like 10 cents a piece for fish bowl decorations…you can get a whole bag of them at Micheals for $2…Just seems to bring down the richness and uniqueness of the sculpture. But that’s just my own personal opinion."He that breaks a thing to find out what it is has left the path of wisdom."

I just thought that after 6 pages of this discussion, it was kind of funny.

-J R R TolkienWhat about the regular oriental?? It sounded to me from previous threads like he was pretty well retired and gone, if you aren’t making casts of him anymore…is there hope for that little guy???

-J R R TolkienI feel just the opposite – I like the pose of the mother coiled dragon much more than the male coiled dragon. Though I have to admit, I really do like the egg. I like it better than the globe – the globes just look like cheap marbles to me.

“I’m just gonna call them Emerald Peacock. That is what they are. We may have to abreviate it , but it is descriptive.”LOL well, that’s kind of anti-climactic! ^_^
I really REALLY like the second version of it posted in the gallery….so purdy…

-J R R TolkienWell, I lucked out! I ordered a peacock OW from Enchanted Knights (a store I heard about here) and finally got it today. I’m lucky for two reasons – He was sent just in his Windstone box, and two corners were completely cumpled, but thankfully he’s completely intact. That’s the second OW I’ve gotten shipped just in their own boxes…Gotta love those shaped cardboard inserts!!
Second lucky – he’s BEAUTIFUL!! 😀 His blues and greens and purples are all deep and vibrant. I LOVE him. ^_^ Which makes him the first peacock I’ve really honestly liked. YAY!"He that breaks a thing to find out what it is has left the path of wisdom."
-J R R TolkienHey guys! ^_^ I bought a black gold emperor a couple months ago, and I just really don’t like him as much as I thought I would. In my opinion, he’s the least pretty of all my dragons, and he’s taking up a lot of room. He’s in mint condition – They didn’t even open him up at the store until I bought him because I special ordered him. And he’s been in a glass door cabinet the two months I’ve had him. He is sparkly and new.
Please post if you are interested. I paid $300 plus CA tax on him…so I’d really like to get at least $300 for him if I can…I know you can get him a bit cheaper than that on ebay, but I can hope. I’d also be happy to accept unpainted PYOs as full or partial payment, too. 🙂 Or other Windstones.

-J R R TolkienI really love the spectral sculpts….and I may be the only one here, but I’m not really fond of the spectrals’ eyes!! I would LOVE to see spectrals with normal dragon eyes, personally.

-J R R TolkienDo you have to pick specific countries? I havn’t sold too many BINs, but for regular auctions, I think I just click on the option that allows shipping world wide… that works for Canada, I assume…right?

Well, that was my vote! ^_^ Not that I particularly care – I’m getting them all no matter what!!

-J R R TolkienTook me a while to remember this one and come back to it LOL
Here’s my recipe, which was pirated from several other recipes including my great Aunt Corinne’s :Ingrediants:
(FILLING)
1-1 1/2 lbs ground turkey (or beef or lamb)
1 bag frozen carrot/pea mix
1/2 small golden onion
1 clove garlic
1 tblsp olive oil
1 cup beef broth (or 1 cup water + beef bullion)
rosemary
thyme
nutmeg
worchestshire sauce
salt/pepper(MASHED POTATOES)
4 yukon gold potatoes
milk
1 tblsp butter or margarine
salt/pepper
paprika-Start potatoes: cut potatoes into equal chunks and set to boil in generously salted water – allow to boil on low until filling is completed
-Mince onion and garlic; sautee in olive oil until tender (don’t burn the garlic!)
-add ground meat and cook until brown
-you can attempt to drain the fat if you like
-add beef broth (or water and bullion) and bring to boil
-add spices and worchestshire sauce to taste (I usually do a pinch of each spice, a generous splash of the worchestshire and then salt and pepper)
-add about half a bag of the fozen carrot/pea mix; mix in
-boil until liquid is gone; taste and add any additional spices if necessaryWhen the liquid is close to being boiled off, finish up the potatoes
-drain potatoes
-add butter salt and pepper
-begin to mash (I use a hand held electric mixer) add milk slowly while mashing to achieve desired creaminess-add filling to cassarole dish
-spoon potatoes evenly across filling
-sprinkle potatoes with paprika
-cover and bake in preheated oven at 400 for 30 min. (if a slightly crispy crust is desired on potatoes, uncover for the last 10 minutes of baking)….hmm. That seems long and complicated looking at it now…it’s really not that hard, though. Sorry, I know there’s a science to writing out recipes, but I just wrote this one up off the top of my head…I hope it’s not too confusing or convoluted.
