I got a ruby lap!!! 😀 And the brown and white old warriors from my finace :D:D:D though I “opened” them early. And I went to the Windstone factory, which I see as an X-mas present from Melody and Co. (THANKS GUYS!!!!!!) And I got MONEY from various long distance family, which is always very nice. ^_^ I’m saving it up for a PYO by Nambroth. And I got a really nice looking cumfy shirt from my grandma…not a Windstone, but you can’t leave out a gift from grandma!
…shoot, I made a dang good haul this year!! 😯

I LOVE my tabby, but this one is totally AMAZING!!! I’m going to keep coming back to oggle and stare at, it I can tell already!
LOL!!! No autographs, please…
Well, maybe we’ll just have to do ANOTHER trade, and I can make you a silver tabby to keep your orange company. Ugh, this one was a lot of work, though…so no time really soon…

-J R R TolkienThe more I look at this one the more I like it…The red and black face is just COOL. Awsome job!!

-J R R TolkienI also spend between 20 and 30 hours on most griffins… I think the silver tabby I just finished was probably around 26…28 maybe. I did my magpie griffin really quick, 6 or 8 hours I think – but he was just for me, for fun, and he has pretty much NO detail at all, and no antiquing…just bold black and white.
…I’m trying to take the hours and hours I sometimes spend just looking at them trying to figure out what to do next out of the equasion…XD

-J R R TolkienI really like the way you did the markings on the wings, with just a few feathers tipped darkly…it’s really pretty! And the owl markings are a really nice match for the light tabby! When I did my snowy owl, my intention was to make it with a white tiger butt…I ended up doing the snow leopard, but I think a tabby butt like this would have been better than a tiger, if I had still wanted to do stripes…
boy, that sentence felt convoluted…hope that makes sense!

Awww! 😳 I didn’t mean to post mine over yours – just saw yours just now…I think that combo goes GREAT together, the owl and tabby! 😀 And you’re a fantastic painter yourself, Spark (my personal fav is the one you have as your icon)

-J R R TolkienI didn’t get any stipulations for this guy except that Kep wanted a gray tabby, kinda like Ski’s. ^_^ So I had free reign. I’m pleased with it…the only thing that bothers me a little is how mono-chromatic it is, but I think the blue and silver accents helped with that. Of course, you can’t SEE the blue and silver accents in any of these pictures!!! 👿 There is interference blue barring on many of the feathers on the top of the wings, shoulders and arms. There’s also a little on his face. There is also silver leaf tipping the top few rows of wing feathers. His arms and beak are painted a mettalic champaigne and his talons are silver. He has tabby markings on the top of his head and his face. There’s a ton of detail on this guy that you just can’t see in the pictures. I tried to make him soft looking – a few of the reference pictures I had were of kittens. 🙂

I was SO STOKED to get my pink eyed albino – I found out about the auction a week or so after it had ended, called up the factory and what do you know – they had one left to send to me! 😀 SO EXCITING. That was the begining of my current collecting craze. ^_^ I’m definitely getting all the griffins I can get my hands on. Griffins are my favorite!
Lord, I would do most anything for that “wolf #1” prototype colored griff in Melody’s gallery…looks even more stunning in person. SO pretty….

-J R R TolkienI think it’s my favorite wolf to be shown so far, Water – this one is really stunning!! Did you model the color/markings on a particular animal or did you make them up? He’s really beautiful…
