BranzyBoo I just love the colors on your silhouette poad, just awesome! Very fall-like colors 🙂
Hi got my Poad today. Yay. My Autumn leaf Poad is a tad different than the others here.. she is black with a green leaf that changes to bluey dark green tips. The leaf is edged in purple. She has two small black cats hiding in the leaf. I would like to post the pictures.. but having trouble finding the link on how to do that.. can someone please direct me?
Your poad sounds lovely! To post pics its a lot easier on this new forum. You need to put them on a site such as photobucket then get the direct link for each pic. Then click on the IMG button at the top of the box your posting in and a little box will pop up asking for the link to the picture and paste it in there. Do that for each pic. Hope that helps 🙂
OMG Lisa that wolf poad is awesome !! Just gorgeous ! 🙂
I just realized mine is shown in the class photo ….. *giggle* 😉
Here is my GB silhouette poad. ….first GB I treated myself to in ages. Its adorable with deer and trees and a squirrel I believe. Its a light purplish color with matching eyes and a orange upper body.
Sorry its been so long since I posted here. The forum is harder to view on my phone now and its a bit of a pain lol !
So its true an agreement was reached but we have yet to vote on it, to accept it or not. It may be a close vote as it seems half the ppl I talk to hate it and the other half said its fine. You can never make ‘everyone’ happy and some ppl will always complain.
Me, I just want it all settled so things can get back to normal….until the next time around.
On a positive note…. I got hired on FULL TIME! After 17 years of service….full time finally! I was so surprised, I never expected this really! Usually they are deleting positions when people retire etc…but so many have retired here lately I think they finally realized how short staffed they are. Me and a few others as well all finally got full time 🙂 The downside of this is Im stuck on backshift now as thats were I got slotted in for now. I never worked back shift before- 10pm till 6am….but Im used to being up really late (I used to work till midnight before this change)…. so Im getting used to it pretty quick. And hopefully someday I will get to bid back into the section I prefer.
But for now Im happy !! Tired…but happy lol !! To celebrate Im trying to get myself a Windstone or 2…. ( been awhile since I bought any)….plus a few other treats 😉
Very nice. Is anyone in Canada still waiting for their unicorn? Our tracking still hasn’t updated and it’s been 10 days now since our boxes went through a transfer airport in Vancouver. I called Canada Post and they said our boxes weren’t showing they were in Canada or in customs and that I would have to call USPS. I am getting worried. Where would they be sitting for 10 days that they haven’t even shown up in customs?
Oh no Kim ! Sorry to hear this 🙁 Did you go to the USPS website and try tracking it there?
Since it looks like Canada Post has finally come to an agreement I would think everything would be moving as normal in the mail system. Maybe they are in customs and just havent been scanned or processed yet? (Sometimes customs is bad for that, they can seem to do whatever they want grrrrrr )
So last night the Corporation had every intention of locking us out. Everything was in place with the big-wigs present and head of security present also, within my mail plant that is. At the last minute it was cancelled….. we were told the government intervened for a few reasons…
Anyways long story short it really looks like there may not be any mail disruption. Canada post has even stated that its safe for their customers to mail items.
Again there is no 100% guarantee on this….but I personally wouldn’t hesitate to order or mail things via Canada Post. Plus if there is any disuption planned, they have to issue a 72 hr notice.
*crosses fingers* for negotiations to continue with no work disruption.
Thanks again everyone for the kind words.
Times are really scary, my future seems uncertain. As of now the corporation has the right to lock us out as of Monday.
The union wants to negotiate and wants a 30 day extension to the cooling off period and the corp. will agree to this but keeps insisting we agree to binding arbitration at the end of 30 days. We wont agree to binding arbitration as it takes away our right to negotiate in the end so whats the point…..
I just wish this would end already….sure I want to fight for whats right and I know the Corporation is wrong…but there is the uncertainty of not knowing how long we may be locked out if the lock-out happens…..
This constant worrying is starting to wear me down…. 🙁
The corporation has just served a 72hour notice…. 🙁
So as of 12:01am friday the corporation is saying they will no longer have to abide by our old contract, rather they will rule us according to the Canadian Labour Code, and will staff accordingly, stating that volumes have dropped due to this dispute.
They will also have the right to lock us out….. which very well may happen, but they aren’t coming right out and saying this.
Oh dear….this is all so stressful. I do have some savings, but things may get rough if we are locked out for a long time. And Im more worried about Canada Post screwing themselves by loosing so many customers……
Good Luck, Amstaff!
I hope you get Good News soon and things work out for you and the rest of the Canada Post workers.Thank you 🙂 And thanks to everyone on the forum, your support means a lot to me.
Its hard for a lot of us Postal Workers….a lot of the public frown on us, and there are lots of misconceptions. One big one is most people in Canada still think that their tax dollars pay for our wages, but thats not true. Canada Post is a crown corporation and it is profitable and actually makes money for the government. And no, we DONT want to strike……some of us live check to check and if we do strike I just dont know how some of us on strike will get by, its scary.
And the big one is people think its all about us wanting more money but again thats just not the case. *sigh*
So yes, any little support shown by people does help lift the spirits! Thank you so much 🙂
It must be driving you batty, Amstaff!
I’m hopeful for a resolution that satisfies all parties. Best of luck!
Thank you for your support 😉 And yes this is driving me batty !! I cant make any big plans or purchases without knowing if Im going to be getting a pay check or not….. 🙁
Happy 4th of July ! Have fun and enjoy your holiday 🙂
Just so everyone is aware there has to be a 72hr notice given to strike or be locked-out. ( unless something else happens like rotating strikes, which may cause the Corporation to immediately lock us out, but Im not 100% sure on that one )
Right now no notices have been served…..all this not knowing though is drving me craxy !
Kim yes, thats so true. There are many small businesses that rely on Canada Post and who could suffer greatly if we get locked out.
In the news yesterday Alberta Federation of Labour has asked Prime Minister Trudeau to fire Deepak as even he thinks Deepak is ” deliberately engineering a lockout and service disruption ”
AFL calls on Prime Minister to fire Canada Post CEO over manufactured crisis – AFL
Scathach, this is a different Deepak Chopra, there are 2 people with the same name 😉 I didn’t know this myself until I asked some coworkers.
Well….things dont seem to be looking good. We asked for a 2 week extension in the cooling-off period so we could further work to secure a deal, but the corporation refused.
We made a little head-way, with them leaving our pensions alone, at least for those already hired.
But there are still issues that need addressing :
The Corporation wants-
1- Eliminate protection of the 493 Corporate Offices permitting CPC to close all corporate retail facilities
….this would mean they could close all corporate retail outlets. Then the only places to mail parcels etc. would be at the postal outlets that are found in places like Shoppers Drug mart. These employees are not canada post employees and they only have to get paid minimum wage, or whatever the rate at that store offers. For the most part these people also don’t get proper training. The biggest issue with this though is all the jobs that would be lost ( resulting in surplus), and with people doing our work that arent CPC employees.2- Reducing the percentage of full-time workers to part-time workers. Allowing them to hire less full-time workers….and use more Part timers. I been with Canada Post for 16yrs now….and it doesnt look like I will ever get full time 🙁
3- They also want to use temporary workers to deliver parcels on evenings and weekends….instead of creating more jobs…..plus there are many other issues.
Cut-backs and roll-backs, thats all they ever do even though Canada Post IS profitable. Deepak Chopra, the CEO of Canada Post, makes 500k a year plus bonuses !!! Thats more than Prime Minister Trudeau ! Plus they have 22 VP’s…. why does Canada Post need that many !! Thats where the cut-backs should be done….not with us, the people who actually do the work and care about the customers….
*sigh *….. sorry for the rant. Its just so frustrating and stressful. What makes it worse is that the general public thinks we are greedy posties and that we may strike just because we want more money…. but thats just not the case. We are trying to keep what we have and not have so many roll-backs…. 🙁
