Hello and welcome. I too don’t have any Windstones (yet, need to move first). But I have participated in two PYO swaps (They seem to happen during the Fall and Spring). You’ll soon see the board flooding with pictures from the most recent swap! Below is a picture of my very first PYO. I do have some painting experience, but nothing with as much detail as this. I was very nervous, but very happy with the end result. So, my advice is to just go for it, and definitely participate in the next swap if you like it.
Sent, and I hope it gets there soon! I can’t wait to see them all!
I don’t think I received my shipping address. Could you send it again, please?
Sent in mine late last night. 🙂 I hope my swap likes it!
All three jewels were the same size, which I think is correct, since the jewels fit in the side ones fine. And those were the only one in the package. The gap isn’t as bad as it looks when you fiddle with it. It tilts to create the larger gap b/c it won’t sit flat, I think. I filled it in with some paper clay, now I’m waiting for it to dry. It’s looking pretty good, though.
The small divot in the back of the jewel hole fits the pointy part of the jewel. I left room for glue, so the glue doesn’t squirt out around the jewel when you put it in.
I’ll have to fix that on the master. I’ll make the hole fit more closely so the jewel is easier to put in.My problem is stemming more from me having two jewel holes, neither which are truly centered. I’m adding another picture to my original post showing the gap (which I guess stretched a little from the second jewel slot being formed). It’s not that big of a difference, so it should be an easy fix.
Thank you all so much for the replies. I have some model clay and I think I might try the glue technique with that first. See if I can fill up the gap a bit and form an even area.
Just signed up, and convinced a friend to do it with me. 🙂
I’m interested in a swap (theme or none).

Double post.
Congratulations!
I’m Megan, sorry, forgot to put my forum name somewhere. Glad you liked it!
I sent mine out yesterday, and it should arrive Friday. And I love mine! It has in it the softest blanket ever, chocolate and bars (including some chocolate bacon truffles!), a cute rubber duckie and stuffed snowman, lotions (which my eczema will love), a cat bookmark, and small gemstones (which I collect!) and even a gift card! Thank you so much!
Congratulations! Can’t wait to see what it is.
