Awww! So cute! Are you taking commitions then? *hopefull*
Aww! Yes! I want a fluffy little hatching feathered thing! Great idea!
LyoMoonheart wrote:OH! You’re actually using watercolours? Great 😀 I was thinking about using my watercolour paints for my newest additions 😀
Yes 😆 The watercolor makes a really diffrent affect I think, thats not ocmpletly shown in the photos. The paint is absorbed into the statue reeeeeal fast, you kind of have to work speedily. Instead of leaving a thick creamy seal like the acrylic, the watercolor kind of turns powdery and rather dull. In some places where the statue is really smooth, the paint won’t want to stick at all, and you’ll have white patches. If you use too much water in some places, the statue will loose some of its detail, or become kinda smooshed. Its hard to get a really even coat all over, but if thats not your goal, then I think it looks really cool, and you can make some really nice shading with it. I can’t wait to see yours!
Thanks a lot everyone! ^^ Greatly appreitiated!
Quote:I’d almost think a wash of metallic silver over some of the unpainted areas (chest scales mainly) would look nice… not solid silver… just a wash over it to give it that metallic hint…
I was thinking of getting some blue and silver shiny paint and giving him some metallic touches, but I’m not sure where to get some, and I’m not sure how it will look with the watercolor. I think I’ll go looking for some this weekend though! Thanks!
Quote:How about a little darker blueish purple as a suggestion for some areas but you will definitly need a lighter color for others. maybe a very light aqua color?
I don’t think I want to paint him purple, but I think I might give him some dark blue in places. And I think I want to paint his wing membranes light blue/aqua, yes! Thank you 🙂
Thats horrible. But I can sympathiz about wanting one…I must have called 30 places this morning looking for a Wii but they are all sold out 🙁 Must have zelda! MUST SAVE THE PRINCESS.
Well so far all the dragons have been blue eyed, right? When they come out with diffrent colored eyes, I think there will be less blue colors schemes.
The dragons a lot more complicated to paint then the griffin! There are so many little places to get the paint into. Anyway, here’s some pics:

He’s going to be an artic dragon, with a blue and whitish color scheme, but I’m not sure what i want to do with all the unpainted parts right now. Any suggestions?
He’s painted in watercolor, like my griff, which is working better than I thought it would. I painted him in shades of blue and teal, then went over it with white, and gave him kind of a white antique. I think it looks kinda cool. Anyway.Oh, darnit! I thought they only had one eye color up. I want an odd eyed one! Maybe I can switch…
Quill wrote:YES! I got my straw-eyed one ^^ I couldn’t tell what the hazel looked like, though… are there better pics somewhere?
It actually says they are light blue colored eyes, though the picture looks like the straw ones.
It worked 😆
LOL wow!
Hiya! *waves* I have NO IDEA what ruffian is talking about, I have never seen a madder bunch 🙂

The green eyes look good, though they would have looked cool with blue too. Awsome idea! I wish I could afford more gryphons and try out all kinds of diffrent bird colorations.
Hmm. I’ve done chalk pastel shading on pictures before, for subtle shading. I wonder how it would look if you used just chalk pastel dust. Maybe I’ll try it when my dragon (yay!) comes. I don’t have any chalk pastels now though, are they expensive? The chalk sticks to the statue after you’ve sprayed it with sealer?
I can’t wait to see how your gryphy turns out! I love harris hawks, thats my sprit animal, though none live around here 🙁
