So… apparently this musician had his guitar grossly mishandled by United Airlines, and then got a major runaround when he asked for compensation for repair.

      This is the result… Clicky

😆 😆 😆 Catchy… Catchy enough and singable enough that it may become a classic. XD

Edit: Ah! Just saw a good photo. The Red Fire does have a nice metallic ‘flavor’ in the red. 😀

I personally prefer the Black Gold, but the Red Fire sounds like it might be perfect for you.

        Hee hee, fun thread.

        3 edits… On a roll… 😳

*gnaws on walls* That’s an extraordinary deal for the OW. Hope someone takes you up on it.

You can’t go wrong with either. I really like the contrast of my Black Gold Emperor, but the one catch is that the black portion doesn’t have the metallic sheen of most newer Windstone dragon colors. (on mine anyway)

Black Gold is handsome but if you want the shinies, Red Fire is probably the way to go. (but I’ve never seen a Red Fire dragon in person, so someone will have to confirm that it has a full-body metallic sheen like the white/ruby/peacock/emerald/etc.) 😕

Edit: Pearlyness! That’s the word, rather than metallic sheen.

Here’s another shot of the pinkish stone (wet, previous picture dry) and the underside of the Amethyst piece, also wet. The pinkish stone has a rough, curved underside. The water on the Amethyst dripped, so it reflected funnily.

I have no idea what the pinkish stone is, but if properly polished, it would be drool-worthy. But as a sidenote, it has several cracks running through it that don’t show up in the photo. It’s probably fine for just ‘rocking out’ (har!) but I don’t know what its structural stability would be like for cabochon making and such.

Ack! Forgot to mention, the little labradorite marble has a notable ding, and the labradorite egg has several smaller ones. I think that’s it, but I’ll scan stuff to make sure.

                Awww… Why thankies, guys. 😀

No major plans. Went to a nice dinner with my family on Sunday, and next week (or the week after) I’ll see the new Harry Potter movie with my aunt and cousin, whose birthdays are also in July. Otherwise it’s pretty mellow.

At twenty-seven, I’m officially in my late twenties. Which isn’t much in the long run, but scares me like a little sissy. 😮 :shout: 😮

But Eeeeeeee!!! Didn’t realize I was on the list for a thread! *wriggles in surprised glee* 😆

Well, for the Emerald Male, I guess I could offer up some stones, fossils and gargoyles. Nothing incredible, but all together it’s something.

The fancy piece is the cut labradorite thingy next to the pen. I’ve never seen labradorite that flashes in bands before, so it’s the most notable piece. The pink thing under it is an eraser to tilt it to the light so the stripey flash it has photographs. There’s also:
Tumbled piece of jet (hard to find)
                    (very) low quality ruby
Uncut geode (larger than the average gift-store types and light so definitely hollow)
                    Labradorite egg with little flash
Labradorite marble with even less flash
                    Rather pretty quartz crystal
                    Little bit of amethyst cluster
                    Pinkish mystery stone
Larger bit of amethyst, flat on bottom

                    Among the fossils, there’s…
Half a Megalodon shark tooth (worn, little serration left, little monetary value but authentic and pretty cool)
Two bits of Oreodont jaw (very common herbivore)
One bit of little-critter mystery jaw
                    Three mystery-bug thingies in shale
                    One dinosaur claw replica
                    One cave bear canine replica
One bone-clone modern-day tiger canine replica (Yellowed, but Bone Clones is to replica bones as Windstones is to collectible dragons, so it’s kind of cool)

And, the gargoyles are the most self explanatory. There’s…
Four pewter gargoyles by Gallo Pewter,
One pewter (or mystery metal) gargoyle pendant,
                    One ceramic gargoyle box,
and a little metal beastie skull, just because.

                    Sharpie not included. 😛

So… that’s my offer for the Emerald Male. Nice start or supplement to a collection, or for gifts. Probably best to see if there’s interest for this before nominating it as a trade, just to be sure.

That I have, this may be odd, but my little scratching dog.

That I wish I had, probably a Prototype OW in Peacock. Not that I’d turn down any other color… 😀

Yes and no. Griffins also take a while, because they are big. In fact, the keeper is just a bit bigger than a griffin (I’m looking at mine as I write). It just depends on the painter. If we need to start doing a pairing like that, it’ll be hell. It’s already a bit of a shuffle with making sure people don’t paint for the same person twice, to check to make sure the person ships where the picked person lives and if they have restrictions as to what they paint. Nah, I think keepers are on the level. It’s because we’ve been waiting for them so long because of the broken mold that they’re so special, I think.

We can do a keeper swap only at one point for sure late in the fall. That way, we’d have our “2 swaps a year” quota/fix!

I checked some measurements, (relying a bit on online photos and descriptions) it appears to be right between the griffin and male dragon in size. It still seems pretty epic, but they do have that mystique and I have never painted one so cannot say for certain.

But either way, you and Drag0nfeathers are doing a major kindness for and contribution to the Windstone community by tackling and running this swap. And you make a good point, with all the juggling that’s already needed, it’s best not to add more unless very necessary.

I eagerly await the first. 🙂

I love the idea of rock and garden dragons in cement. I confess they’d be inside beasties, but since they’re large, the ability to put them on the floor and not worry about doing major damage if I accidentally bump them, sounds delightful.

Thing about keepers, is it seems like they’d take a fair bit longer than the littler pieces. So I don’t know if it would make for an even swap. As a painter, I’d feel uneasy painting a little critter while knowing that my recipient is hoping for something grander. A Keeper only swap would be a more even solution. But outright forbidding them from this swap would be no fun.

Maybe it should have reverse-Muse status.

If I remember correctly, a recipient who really wanted one could ask for a muse, and their painter (if they were okay with painting one) could paint one.

With the Keepers, maybe it should be that if a painter really wants to paint one for the swap, they could be paired with a recipient who (while officially asking for a littler critter) makes a note that he/she would gladly recieve a Keeper.

                                  Just my 5 cents.
