  • Mostly I am sad cause the kids won’t know their bio father all that well, even if he is a irresponsible jerk, they will still mourn that he wasn’t there, I know this because I did. My parents divorced when I was 5, my father more or less wrote us off at that point, I am 42 now & it still hurts me that he never stepped up & was a real father to me. I have a stepdad, but well let’s just say some aspects of him being in my life were not good. Anyway, your ex will use this against you later when the kids ask him why he abandoned them, he will claim it was all YOUR fault, not him. Mine tried that tact, I knew better, but even knowing he was lying, as a child you still want it to be true, that circumstances were the reason, he didn’t abandon you, he just wasn’t able to be there, not his fault. It’s hard.

I am very very happy to know they have a Dad who will love them & be there for them, you are so lucky that you found such a great guy. I am very glad you made it so that your children will always be safe from your ex’s irresponsible behavior. But I’m sad that this situation occurred in the first place & that it gives your ex ammunition to use against you later to attempt to hurt your relationship with your kids later in life. Cause if he is as much of an ass as you say he is, you know he will. Upside, you know this & hopefully when he pulls it, you guys won’t get broadsided.

Most important is that the kids are safe & not going to be in a situation where they can be put in harms way again, just sad that you were put in the position to have to, especially against their own father, so messed up.

Yay! I am so glad you lawyer pushed for some kind of decision asap. I am so happy for you that you never will have to worry about something going wrong when your ex has custody, since now he can’t. I am happy for you in that, sad for all of you for a multitude of other reasons. I would wish that your ex would be a better father, both in the past & the future, but I doubt he will. Give your kids hugs for me, they will get though all this, but Mom, this isn’t gonna be easy, the court battle was only the beginning. Hugs to you all!

I am so sad, I thought for sure after all this time she was in remission & that she had beaten it. Since it has been so long since she was diagnosed & seemed to be well, I had hoped it meant she’d won the fight & would be with us for a long time. I will miss her, she was a really sweet lady. Tell her family & friends that we loved her very much & will miss her always, she was a wonderful person.

Very true, I love my little collection of winged kirins. I get my wings from a very talented artist in Britain…if I could afford to commission you, that’s what I would have done, chosen wings then commissioned so they would match.

The swallowtail one is screaming for some wings! I love the pink one, & that is saying something, cause I am not a big fan of pink.

In the famous words of Dory from Finding Nemo, “Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming, swimming, that’s what you do!” You guys can do this, if I can do it, you can do it, & guys, I did it, so you can too! Hang in there, the finish line is in sight, just a bit further.

I know how tough it is, I’ve done the stay up all night thing to get it done, strangely some of my best work were those last minute ones, I don’t get that. Anyhow, been there, done that, got the degree to prove it!

Keep it up, you are doing great, even if it doesn’t feel like it!

Pictures is easy, if you use Photobucket for your images, just copy & paste the code that says, HTML code & it will display the picture within your messages. Hope that helps.

Your best bet is eBay, & even then, no guarantees on no chips plus box, the other option is the store, I know Windstone has several Emperors in stock…& you are guaranteed no chips & box.

If you go with eBay, ask to borrow an Emperor box & have the seller wait til they have it before shipping him, it is your best bet for getting him to you intact.

    Good luck!

in reply to: Cleaning an absolutely filty Dragon #878084

I admit it, I do Pam’s method when it comes to cleaning, I also use hot water, it cleans them faster so I don’t have to keep them under the water as long & it dries quicker. Then I set them on a paper towel just in case the pad got wet. I have also discovered baby bottle brushes work pretty well. I know, I know, I can hear the horrified gasps from here, but really Windstones hold up really well, the only color I would never try this on would be the old Ruby…that paint just can’t take anything, not really.

If you are afraid to try the full under water spray thing, baby wipes work exceptionally well on these as well.
