LIH–love the schoolyard shot!
Well, I was going to wait until I dug my original siamese flap cat out of hiding, but you know how cats are. He’ll show up when he’s good and ready, and not a moment before!
So here’s my admittedly tiny collection of two dragons, my coveted lap Allestra and her older brother, who refuses to give me his name yet.
Allestra’s already stealing from the hoard kept on my desk, she’s got a shiny marble in front of her foot, not a defect. LOL
Since Her Highness is a character in a WIP, I prefer to have her right on my desk where I can keep an eye on her…or she can keep an eye on me, I’m not sure which. 🙂
Now they just need a candy corn with a bit of copper in it to keep them company…and maybe a pebble fox…and….!
I just fall into a land of daydreaming of a world where I have the ones I love! XD I’m very far off from that fantasy being anywhere true, but my boy is a good start! 😀
I know the feeling! I just go pet my copper lap that my baby went as partial payment for, and hope Melody does another batch soon. Or another GB I can use to trade for a candy corn. Or something. I do want at least one of these guys though, darn it!
I did make a design once for a “Coffee kitty” for use in an office where everyone was ‘sposed to chip in for coffee…
A bank could be a place to save up for a dragon, except you’d have to save up for the bank first…but let’s see ,if the banks were shaped like cats, painted like grab bags, and limited in number, then eventually they would be worth more than you paid for them, so you could just sell the bank and MAKE money to buy more stuff! That way the “bank” wouldn’t even need a place for real money. Ha ha ha!*bows to Melody’s utter brilliance* LOL
I do like the idea though, especially with a dragon guarding the “hoard”.

You shouldn’t need to send your email to anyone. Open Game Center, click on Requests, then on the + sign on the top right. In the address field, type in joliesdragons & hit send (or whatever, I’m doing this from memory. I should get the request in a few minutes, I’ll approve it, then you’ll be able to see me under your friends in DragonVale. (you may need to close and reopen either app, or restart your device, depending on how moody GC’s servers are.)
Bugger and I had a huge fight tonight. I took a break and week off of scaling him. I wasn’t idle though and spent many hours combing the internet for reference photos to help my get an idea of how to scale out his wing fingers. I finally blended together some different lizard scale patterns in my head to get a good mental picture of what I wanted.
Well I started with one of the shorter wing fingers tonight and began scaling. No sooner had I finished three scales than His Royal Highness Bugger decided he didn’t like what I was doing. He didn’t want his scales done that way thank you very much! He really is a brat you know?
So after much frustration, choice word uttering and me at the brink of tears we finally reached a compromise. I would do it his way and he would behave.
Don’t tell him but I think his way does look better. But I DID NOT SAY THAT! And if you tell him I will deny everything.
LOL–This sounds like me arguing with two of the characters in my current WIP. I know that feeling all too well, right down the choice words & brink of tears.

Are they for you, for someone else, or for sale? Depends on what you are going for. Most people I know would probably go for a matched set, though if there was a reason, someone could have different detail work. Depends on the concept for the costume or character (if that is the case).
I’d tend to agree with this. And personal vote goes to dragons…though if they’re a sale piece, unis may do better. Sorry, natural born fence sitter here, I’m no help at all. LOL
Sad to say it’s safe from me as well. I just can’t afford to spend on dragons what should be spent on house repairs/maintenance/upgrades, etc. Even registering my car this week took $150 more than planned–thanks, emissions testing!
Guess I’ll wait on the next grab bag or two to pick up a OOAK, and hope some of these color schemes make it into LP on something small, like curlies. 🙂
A couple of weeks ago I had downloaded the game only to realize (after) that I needed a Game Center account. Game Center will not let me change my username to something other then my email address, thus it was deleted. 🙁
That irritated me to no end! 😛
Weird–and agreed, totally irritating. But as someone who routinely jailbreaks her devices because Apple does things I hate, or inefficiently, or just plain stupidly–yeah, nothing they do that doesn’t work right comes as a surprise anymore!
FWIW–a little digging on Google produced this from a gaming forum. No idea if it’s of use. GC is NOT intuitive, and I avoid it like the plague otherwise, but DragonVale was too fun and too “me” to pass up:
You Dont need to make another iTunes Account !! All you have to do it tap on your iTunes account name in Game Center, then Edit Profile info, then scroll down to where you Game Center username is, and you can change your name from there. i changed my Game Center name from GazaIan to OldAccount (because i cant make any purchases with it.)
Ozone will destroy the odor and probably not hurt the paint or pad. If you know anyone with an ozone generator like the ones used to kill odors in hotel rooms or from fire damage that you could borrow it should do it. However, you don’t want to breath the ozone so you can’t do it in a room that you occupy and it will damage latex rubber so you need to be careful of that as well.
This is all true. Ozone can break down the chemical bonds that create odor, but it is not stuff you want to be breathing in at all. It is a highly unstable element and takes away odor by pretty much vaporizing what small particles it comes in contact with….so you can imagine what it would do if you breathed it in.
My Dad works in environmental clean up of ground water, particularly from old gas stations. One of the methods is to pump ozone into the ground in order to break up the hazardous material. So that gives a little idea of what it can do.
Some places will allow you to rent ozone machines (the big rent-a-tool places sometimes have them), so you don’t have to know someone to get your hands on one. They help with all sorts of stinks, including heavy cigarette smoke and pet urine. But as others have said, not one living thing can stay in that house/room while you’re using them. They’re definitely a “read the directions and follow them precisely” kind of tool.
LOL–you really CAN play this one without spending real money. You need a bit of patience, but it can be done. If you add friends in Game Center that also play, you can send gems (which speed things up) to each other daily, and it doesn’t cost. I added just a few from Facebook and that helped. (I’m on Game Center under, you guessed it, joliesdragons.) As you level up, save up for a stadium and enter dragons in tournaments. You’re guaranteed at least one gem from that each day, and if you take first place, you get five.
Having said that, we won’t discuss just exactly how much I have spent…except to say my best friend’s even worse. 😉
There’s also a useful wiki on the web at http://dragonvale.wikia.com that will help you work out the various breeding combinations to get specific dragons without having to spend gems to buy them.

LOL–Hubby brought home a D&D poster yesterday and said, “I got this one for you.” Just as I was about to object (I have a couple of D&D dragons in my office, but I don’t game), he flipped it around and showed me that quote…I about lost it laughing and told him yes, he’d gotten it right, but the gender was all wrong.
Of course, that meant I had to make a siggy out of it with the “corrected” version for my girl!
