There’s nothing wrong with taking time for yourself. Enjoy it. Take care of yourself! 😉

They look like generic mutts to me. Fuzzy long hair doesn’t mean “Chow”. There are a lot of breeds out there that have coats like that as puppies. I guess it depends on how big they are, and what kind of dogs are common in the area… given their parents were probably feral or at least, not responsibly owned.

Good luck finding them forever homes.

Wow… I’d take that Franklin Mint “Playful Moment” dog figurine in a heartbeat if I weren’t flat broke. It’s adorable!

    Good luck with your sale!

    This thread is hilarious!

I fully admit that I don’t censor myself in real life (or on my private blog/journal)… But I do try to keep things G-rated when I post on random forums. lol

    OH MY GOD SKEETER!!!

I am so glad that your family is OK. I REALLY hope this is a GIANT wake up call to the people that speed down your road (and maybe your township – get them to post and enforce speed limits on that road!!)

I can’t express enough how glad I am that you, your hub, and your boyohs are ok. *HUGS*

    x2!

I’d set up a small video camera outside your house (preferably so you can see where she dumps her garbage, AND where the dog poops). That way, when you do go to authorities, you have PROOF that this is happening on a regular basis. It might catch her speeding car as well.

Great idea. The more evidence you can acquire, the better.
Take video of the offending animal doing whatever it’s doing on your property, then approach animal control about it and file a complaint. Also write down dates and times, every time you find dog poo on your property or see the dog running at large. That way there’s a record of how often it’s happening, and if AC comes to investigate your allegations, you’ve got even more evidence to back up your complaint.

Do the same thing for the speeding. Write everything down. That way you can prove a history of the irresponsible behavior if anything does happen (like a pet or person getting hit).

    Or…

Put a live-trap on the porch, then take the dog to animal control when/if caught. Even if it’s wearing tags. A dog at large is a dog at large regardless of size or breed, and if it was damaging MY property I’d be all the more willing to let AC deal with it. Nobody should be letting their dog run at large like that. It’s totally irresponsible.

    I’ll play. 🙂

My dog, Taffy. She’s an American Pit Bull Terrier mix. She’s a rescue, and my “heart dog”. She’ll be six this April… (I can’t believe it, time does fly…)

    Derp.

Her first trip to Killbear Provincial Park, in ’09. (She was exhausted from swimming.)

Her and my Dad during our hike in Algonquin Provincial Park back in ’08.

When she first learned to swim.

Taffy actually has her own blog/photo-journal: http://abulldogslife.livejournal.com/

My two current rats (They’ll be the last, as I’ve developed a contact allergy to rats after owning them for almost ten years…)
Jules Verne (About a year old). He’s one of the sweetest rats I’ve ever had. He’s so gentle and curious. (He’s also huge.)

H.G.Wells (About ten months). A bit skittish, but still a nice boy.

And my two corn snakes (They’re about ten years old now):
    Coca Cola.

    And Pearl.

I’m sorry I don’t have better photos of them. These pictures are about four years old…

    Anyway, that’s my current zoo…

    My Grandmother has Alzheimers.

Honestly before she was diagnosed, her and I were estranged for many years. She isn’t (or wasn’t) the nicest person in my life. But I’ve lost people in the past, suddenly and unexpectedly. It was traumatizing. So when this journey started, I made a point to be there. Both for her, and more importantly, for my Dad (who is her primary caregiver and has to deal with her all on his own).

This disease has touched many, many people. Take comfort in knowing you’re not alone on this journey, dragonmedley. You have not only family, but people all around you who know what you’re going through.
