I got mine and forgot to post and say so!! It’s really cute, those tanks ran kinda small, so mine is a little snug, but that’s just case I’m fat I guess!!! 😆 😳 I love it though!

in reply to: Jewelry Making as Therapy? #677125

I do the same thing. Whenever I am stressed or nervous I craft. I make jewelry, mostly strung bracelets, necklaces and earrings. I have a good 50-55 bracelets sitting here in a plastic shoebox, my website is down right now until hubby can fix the server, but I used to sell. Mostly I make stuff for myself, and for friends. I also make fertility bracelets, and miscarriage/infant loss memorial jewelery. Something about counting and stringing and completing jewelery makes me feel like I accomplished something. I also love to counted cross-stitch. I got started sticthing when I was diagnose with ovarian cancer almost 5 years ago. Stitching gave me control over something, when I had none. Then when I got dagnosed with pancreatitis, and eneded up in the hospital all the time, I would stitch right there in the hospital. I mostly make baby birth records, and give them to people, I’ve something like 38 in the past year, I am always stitching, especially when hubby and I watch TV, it’s relaxing, and soothing. Something about lining up x’s and seeing the pattern unfold is very theraputic. I also crochet, and I paint like a fiend, alot of very small xmas ornaments, and miniatures of buildings. Our second bedroom is my craft room. I have just about everything except a kiln, and stained glass, which is my dream. I also paint traditionally, in oils, acrylics and watercolors, though not as much anyore. I used to make miniature babies out of clay, but haven’t done that in a while. I’ll paint anything I can get my hands on, but have no money for PYO’s right now. One of these days if one of these jobs come through, I can start painting again. Sorry that was kinda long. 😀

and the smell of turnout clothes after a fire.

OH!! that’s one of my favorites!!! My hubby gets the sniff attack when he comes back from a fire, actually no-one in the firehouse is safe from a good sniffing after those calls. Good thing they’re all friends, or I would be the really weird one!! But cigarette smoke makes me actaully gag. My mother smokes like a chimney, and as soon as I get home, I strip and jump in the shower, soooooooo gross. I also love the smell of fresh brewed coffee, except for when I was pregnant, then it made me yak. And fresh cut grass, and lilacs, and magnolias.

I’m a sniffer too! I love to snuzzle my cats, especially Emma, and babies, all babies, are my favorite, I love it when my nephews fall asleep on me, then I can sniff them to my heart’s content….mmmmm joy. I used to work at a hospital, and I could diagnose a whole bunch of medical conditions, by smell alone. And I’m with you on the GI bleeed thing PD, that is a very distinct smell, not to mention C DIFF, yark. I also know when it’s gonna snow by the scent in the air. I luuuuuurrrrrvvvv my sense of smell! Good thread, good thread.

I attend the NYS Renaissance Faire (Sterling Forest at Tuxedo, NY – the one by NYC), the Sterling Renaissance Festival (Sterling, NY – the one up by Syracuse). Unless it starts coming back, I did go to the, short lived Vermont Ren Festival. I’ll likely end up going to King Richard’s Faire (Carver, MA) this year, since Angel Sword quit going to the NYS Ren Faire. That faire is sooo different than it used to be and many vendors have been chased away. It’s become VERY PC and disney-fied the last couple of years. Lots of managerial/management attitude issues going on there. I counted at least 8 vendors that I shopped at that left in the last 2 years or were pushed out. It’s very sad 🙁
    Hmmm… I know I have a Ren garb picture somewhere…

Those are the ones my husband and I go to.
