My condolences for your loss, having to choose to let go of a treasured friend like that is always very hard…

But he loved you very much, as you loved him, and he will be waiting patiently for you for as long as it takes.

    (hugs)

It’s a frustrating feeling to put all that time into education and never use it. Trust me I know (I haven’t used my Chemical Technology diploma in the 3 years since I graduated and it’s not looking likely that I ever will!). But the education makes you more knowledgeable… and be proud that you accomplished that!

It’s nice to know at least you have a steady income. The economical situation is brutal.

I hope you guys all get through this safe and sound…. 🙁

Sorry to hear all of it! I have Celiac friends and my husband and I willingly try to forgo as much wheat product as we can, so if you ever need recipes let me know. That said, there is a lot of information already online if you need food ideas.

I would honestly love a couple of tried and true recipes if you have them…. (what can I say I collect recipes).

Well, 1/2 hour isn’t really that far when you consider general commuting time (especially compared to my area!). If you really like the place/salary/people, and even if the field is somewhat different, it’s worth the drive. This is where you see if you have the option to change your hours to avoid traffic, or work from home once in a while.

Since the job is supervising the line, I don’t think there’s a way to change my hours without changing everyone else’s (also knocks out the ever elusive, work from home option, but I don’t think I’d get anything done working from home either…).

And as for the field change, it’s mostly feeling like my schooling is going down the toilet. Even though I was hired for that background, I haven’t needed it… which is weird.

It’s always tough to see your babies get old and know their time is coming. It’s heartbreaking to see them go downhill… I remember how hard it was for both Pixie and Fluff… and that was years ago (I still cry sometimes thinking about them…).

Rusti that poem made me cry!

You gave your puppy years of love and comfort(and he in return), and I hope those memories keep you warm once he’s gone. (hugs)

Hang in there hun. I know how hard it can be – I spent months with no cash flow and no job prospects despite having top grades where I graduated.

Have you tried having other people look at your resume? Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes can give you some perspective – I know it’s what I needed back then…

Why couldn’t I just have kept my old job?? I hate training. I don’t want to train.

    Happy (belated) Turkey Day!

    (although I had chicken…. I wish I’d had turkey)

SO CUTE! Good for you, rescuing him, he’ll certainly appreciate the new home!

My mother rescued a little tortie girl off the side of the highway a month ago or so, and gave her to my brother… she’s got this adorable bright orange nose, and follows my brother around everywhere. 🙂

OK so this is irritating. A friend offered to help us move. He said he would get days off to help move. So we text him to get up and shower because we’ll be around to pick him up in an hour or so. He gives a non-answer (something about still being asleep), we get no other replies, figure he’s probably dragging himself out of bed/in the shower. I go to pick him up (I’m injured so can’t help move much), and ring his buzzer. Call him. Ring his buzzer. After about 10 mins I leave a message saying “I’m here, at least answer the door buzzer!”. He sends a text within minutes to my friend (not with me) saying he got called into work and was already there (it takes him more time to get there via bus, then had passed between his last text and me arriving at his place, not to mention getting dressed, etc). I give up and head back to help how I can.

Later, we’re going to the mall where he works to watch a movie. We can’t reach him so call the store he’s at to see if he’s still there (in case he was telling the truth). They tell us he never worked today. ORLY?

He’s probably going to be moving at the end of the month. Guess we’ll all be ‘working’ that day, as well.

And he thinks that I don’t like him. I WONDER WHY? (this isn’t the first time it’s happened)

I mean, in the end we really didn’t need him, but we had one good back, two gimps (my knee and my friend’s hip), and a middle aged man with a history of back problems moving us. His help would have really taken a load off us.

I honestly thought I posted in here! Hope y’all had a great long weekend (I have the week off which is awesome)!!!

It was a Looong weekend all right… Oh wait what weekend? I don’t know what you’re talking about. 😛

(gotta love retail and working holidays)

It’s the day when you get paid time and a half for working. LOL

Why I’m glad I work processing, not retail. Although I did work every Saturday in June. Tradeoff?
